Summary

“I’m simply too exhausted to hear any reports tonight,” Nie Huaisang continued, pulling out a fan decorated with the mountains near their home. “No one should disturb me until the morning unless something’s on fire.”
There was a slightly longer pause, here, but then the second-in-command said what he always did. “Yes, Zongzhu.”
And he walked away, probably ranting to himself about how a decade ago, the sect leader then would have wanted a full report of what had occurred while he was gone the moment he arrived. But that was then, and this was now.
Nie Huaisang wanted to see his da-ge. Or, what little he had left of him, anyway.(Nie Huaisang returns home and sees his da-ge.)
