Chapter Text

(CHUUYA-CENTRIC)

The moment he tried to open his eyes; his vision was blurry. He could slightly see everyone clinging onto one another for a bit of support; but very surprisingly, Fyodor and Nikolai got sucked in too. Wait… what.

Ah shit. Everything hurts. Headache. Stomach pain. It’s not too nauseating but who’s he to say that? He’s a gravity manipulator. But who could’ve done this at such a nice night? At the night him and that mackerel revealed their marriage too! Assholes…

A few more seconds passed and his vision is back to normal now, although most are still probably recovering from the effects of the motion sickness they got. ‘I’m so glad I’m used to flying and shit…’ Chuuya stands up and Dazai follows suit.

Yosano stands up right after and wobbles a little, but stables herself. “You. Clown guy.” She points at Nikolai, who’s sitting on the ground next to Fyodor. “You can teleport right? Where the fuck did you take us?” She folds her arms and glares at him. Nikolai smiles and hops off the ground like it’s nothing. “Silly doctor, my ability doesn’t work like that! I have my own limits you know!” He motions to their surroundings. “This is too much of a far place for my ability to reach. Besides, I don’t even know where we are!” He says all this in a cheery but eerie smile, his tone ‘joyful’ and irritating.

They get interrupted by Dazai shaking Chuuya’s arm, announcing something to him. “Chibi look! There’s a bridge! Meaning… A river!” The brunette says excitedly to the executive, the latter looking exasperated. “You suicidal maniac…No.” The shorter of the two tugs back on the former executive’s shirt before he could run off with an irritated expression. Dazai pouts. “Chuuyaaaaaaa…” The ginger rolls his eyes at his childish husband and tugs the ‘idiot’ towards him, wrapping an arm around his waist.

A few others stare at them, slightly surprised by the blunt PDA. But others are somewhat used to this. And that was before they knew Soukoku was married. Or was even dating to begin with.

“What?” The mafioso asked, raising an eyebrow with his arm still around the agency member’s waist.

Kouyou shakes her head with a small smile while Mori’s saying something to Fukuzawa. Something about ‘only a diamond can polish another diamond’, he thinks. ‘Talking about me and this mackerel again… Geh, whatever…’

Chuuya turns his head and sees 4 figures advancing towards them. He now sees the 4 girls talking in front of them with concerned faces. “Ah. You’re awake now. Are you all alright?” A girl with a red cape and hood asks them.

It takes Chuuya and predictably (atleast for the ginger), Kyouka, a few blinks to realize something before they turn to look at each other with slightly widened eyes. They look at the girls again. A girl with a red cape and hood, a girl who has long black and purple hair with pale skin, a girl with cat-like eyes and long black and white hair, and a girl with big, teal, white, and purple curls. They know these girls well. They’ve watched the show too many damn times not to know. They face each other at the same time and whisper,

“Ever After High…”

The girl with cat-like eyes perks up. “How’d you know the name of our school? Maddie said you’re from a different dimension.” That seems to draw the attention of the others that got sucked in the whirlpool of colors.

“Raven, Maddie, Kitty and Cerise. Those are your names?” Kyouka asks softly, but loud enough so everyone can hear her.

“Yes… But how did you-“ Raven starts but Chuuya cuts her off.

“Listen… There’s a forest here, right? Can we go there? The spot with the little pixie fairies. Please, Raven. We’ll explain after.” Now it’s Chuuya’s turn to be stared at by everyone present.

“That’s a carefully kept secret. Not to mention that you’re from a different dimension. How in the world did you-“ Cerise begins, but Kitty and Maddie place a hand on both of her shoulders. Maddie tugs on Cerise’s sleeve to keep her back with a joyful smile.

“Alright, fine. We’ll lead the way.” Kitty speaks out. “But we’ll let you talk for a bit.” Raven adds. The 4 girls walk away, far enough for them to not be heard. Chuuya helps Dazai stand up while Kyouka helps Kenji up. The rest stand up, although still a bit wobbly in the stance.

“So? What the hell was that?” Akutagawa asks but coughs right after, trying to keep himself stable by leaning a bit towards Atsushi.

“That. Was me and Chuuya-san talking to people we could only ever imagine meeting.” Kyouka says with an awe to her face and voice. She’s clinging to Chuuya just like Kenji and Dazai were too. “Damn straight.” Chuuya responds with a hint of awe and adoration in his voice. Both of their eyes were maybe just a little, visibly sparkling, but no one has the strength to mention it.

Yosano speaks up after a few seconds of silence. “Is no one going to talk about Dostoevsky and Nikolai being here despite everyone else that’s here were at the joint hangout?”

She questions. “Actually! Me and Dos-kun were spying on your joint hangout thing! It looked like a lot of fun!” Nikolai answers cheerily, not missing a beat. Fyodor nods along in agreement. Well maybe exclude the ‘fun’ part for him… “We were hoping to enter the room until we saw you all get sucked downwards, and the next thing we know, we were next.” Fyodor says, fixing his now tilted ushanka.

Everyone just stared at the two before Kouyou spoke up. “Well, now that we know about that, Chuuya-kun, Kyouka-chan, care to explain?” Once Kouyou finished, everyone turned to look at Kyouka, who’s clinging onto Chuuya’s gloved hand, and the latter, who’s holding Kyouka’s hand. The two looked at each other and the executive nodded.

“We’re in a different dimension, if you couldn’t tell by our surroundings or didn’t listen to that girl earlier. Me and Kyouka-chan have also watched this show multiple times before, when Ane-san was busy and we’d find each other waiting at her ‘tea room’. It’s called Ever After High, basically a school where the kids of multiple tv show characters go to school at. There’s royals and rebels which you can probably tell what that means by the names.” Chuuya explains, Dazai’s hand subtly touching the shorter one’s back.

“They have to sign this 'Book of Legends', where once you sign, your fate will be the same as of your parents’. Although, there are some rebels and possibly a few royals who don’t want to sign the book as they don’t want their destinies to be the same as their parents’.” Kyouka continues, Kenji now beside her with a smile.

“Can you give us an example then?” Mori asks, Elise by his side.

The ginger executive nods. “Well, remember that girl with the long black and purple hair that I called Raven earlier? She’s the daughter of the Evil Queen.” The mafioso says matter-of-factly.

“Evil Queen? Like the one from Snow White?” Kenji asks with a cheery smile. “Yes Kenji, the movie we watched with the agency 3 weeks ago.” Naomi answers with a smile, still clinging on to her brother. The blonde boy nods at her with a grin, looking back at Kyouka and Chuuya.

Chuuya smiles before continuing where he left off. “Anyway, Raven Queen doesn’t want her pre-written destiny to be her future. She doesn’t like her supposed destiny. So she’s considered a rebel, someone who doesn’t want to follow their parents’ footsteps and believe that they have the right to choose/make their own destinies.”

“I see… Thank you, Chuuya-kun.” The mafia boss chirps ‘sweetly’.

Chuuya bows slightly in respect as Dazai rolls his eyes subtly at Mori behind the short executive.

“So… should we tell those girls from before that they can lead us into the forest now or…?” Tachihara asks, slightly getting impatient.

Fukuzawa nods. “You’re right Tachihara. Chuuya-kun?”

“Yeah okay.. Kitty Cheshire? We’re ready.” The short mafioso calls out.

Kitty appears beside him, grinning. “Follow me. We’ll lead you to the pixies. Remember, some pixies can talk clearly and are pretty mischievous.” Kitty snickers while leading them to the other 3 girls.

A few seem skeptical like Akutagawa, Yosano, Kouyou and a few more but there are also the ones who supposedly look excited, like Kenji and Naomi.

They’re now walking around the forest, and Maddie’s talking, calling Nikolai a ‘knock-off Wonderlandian’ with Nikolai giggling beside her, asking random nonsensical crap about ‘Wonderlandians’.

As they walked, Maddie’s words bounced through the trees like music. “…Honestly, you’re like Wonderland’s budget cousin,” she teased Nikolai, tilting her head dramatically. Nikolai’s grin only widened. “Budget cousin? Oh, my dear tea-cup, I’m the entire family reunion! Wonderlandian, Ravkan, Equestrian—you name it, I’m it!” He twirled mid-step, nearly bumping into Kenji, who just laughed and twirled right after him.

“Careful, Kenji!” Naomi giggled, tugging him back by the sleeve, though her smile betrayed she was having fun too.

Akutagawa, however, had had enough. “This is ridiculous,” he muttered, shoving his hands in his pockets, Rashomon twitching faintly. “Why are we wasting time with-”

“Shhh!” Kitty interrupted, pressing a clawed finger to her lips. Her grin widened as she pointed up ahead. “Listen closely.”

A rustle came from the glowing trees, followed by the faint tinkle of laughter. Small shapes zipped between the branches, scattering sparks of light.

Kouyou narrowed her eyes, her fan half-unfurled. “Pixies…”

“About time,” Tachihara muttered, adjusting his grip on his gun.

“Now, now,” Kitty sang, skipping ahead, “don’t be too hasty. Mischief is part of their charm. And if you’re lucky, they’ll even talk back.” At that, Maddie clasped her hands together dramatically. “Pixie riddles, pixie rhymes—ohhh, you’re in for a delight!”

Yosano raised a brow. “Somehow, I don’t think our definitions of ‘delight’ match.”

The forest grew brighter as the first pixie darted into sight, wings shimmering gold. It tilted its head at Chuuya, then tossed a handful of glitter straight into his hair before zipping away in hysterical laughter.

Chuuya swore under his breath, brushing at his coat, while Nikolai applauded like it was the best magic trick he’d ever seen.

Stupid fucking clowns.

They keep walking, Kenji skipping ahead with bright curiosity. He leans down to pluck a bright blue flower near the path.

“Careful, Kenji,” Yosano warns absently.

Too late.

The flower suddenly lets out a piercing squeak and chomps down on Kenji’s finger with tiny sharp teeth.

“Ah! It bit me!” The farm boy yelps, waving his hand. The flower clings like a stubborn puppy.

Naomi bursts into giggles. “Even the plants here flirt differently.”

Kouyou pinches the bridge of her nose. “Idiotic child, stop touching everything.”

Cerise rolls her eyes. “Classic pixie landscaping. Don’t worry, the bite only hurts your pride.” Raven just nods, silent the whole time.

Nikolai bends over, peering at Kenji’s hand. “Oh, it likes you! You should name it. Something like… Chompy. Or Harold. Flowers love names.”

Kenji looks torn between worry and joy. “Chompy it is!”

Akutagawa mutters under his breath, “This place is hell.”

Chuuya lets out a humorless laugh, “I agree with you on that, my boy…” he says before sighing and tugging Dazai back beside him before his husband can do the same.

“Chuuyaaaaa… I wanna touch the pretty flowers like Kenji!” The brunette whines, clearly pleased with himself. “Absolutely not, you idiot.” Chuuya keeps his hand entwined with Dazai’s own to make sure the bastard doesn’t go off plucking random flowers from their spot.

Atsushi leans closer to Hirotsu, eyes wide. “Did… did Chuuya-san just call Akutagawa ‘my boy’?”

Hirotsu, adjusting his glasses, allows the faintest smile. “Quite often, honestly. He has always treated him that way.”

Atsushi blinks at the quiet certainty in Hirotsu’s tone. “...Even like that?”

“Even like that,” Hirotsu confirms, voice soft but steady. There’s a hint of pride in his words, though he doesn’t elaborate.

Kouyou, walking a few steps behind, tilts her head slightly, a soft smile tugging at her lips. “Chuuya’s always had his own way of looking after those he cares for… even if he doesn’t say it out loud.”

Chuuya’s eyes flicked to Akutagawa. Typical. Akutagawa always pretending not to care. Dazai, meanwhile… he should stop grinning like a fool...

Akutagawa keeps his eyes forward, jaw tight—but his shoulders shift imperceptibly, a brief twitch betraying the flicker of something unspoken.

The forest hums with mischief, and the moment passes. Pixies dart past, giggling, tugging at Dazai’s coat. “Hey! Let go, you little—” Dazai yelps, flailing around.

Chuuya snorts. “Focus, idiot. Don’t let them distract you from the path.”

Kenji squeals as Chompy chomps playfully at his fingers again.

Chuuya bends slightly, hands on his knees, watching the boy carefully. “You know,” Chuuya mutters, “if you keep letting every flower bite you, I’m not cleaning up the mess.”

Kenji giggles, wiggling his fingers. “It’s fine! Chompy’s just saying hello.” Chuuya raises an eyebrow, lips twitching. “By gnawing like a tiny monster? Right. You’re lucky I like you, kid.”

Kenji beams. “I like you too, Chuuya-san!”

Chuuya sighs, shaking his head, but there’s a faint smile in his eyes as he straightens. This kid… trouble with a smile.

Raven smiles softly, looking at Maddie. “See? The forest isn’t that scary. It’s just… lively.” Maddie nods energetically, grinning.

They keep walking with a few noises of chattering before Raven taps on Chuuya’s arm and signals him to stay behind for a bit. Chuuya raises a brow but nods and let’s go of Dazai, placing his husband next to Kunikida. The couple share a look before Dazai pouts but nods subtly.

The rest keep walking while Raven waits for Chuuya at the back of their line.

“What’d you need?” Chuuya asks with a raised brow and crosses his arms, voice calm but with a hint of wariness.

Raven studies him carefully, voice steady. “We’ve never met before.”

“Right…” Chuuya says softly, waiting for her to get to her point.

The Evil Queen’s daughter hesitates before looking at him like he’s a threat. Well he could may as well be one. But there’s no way he’s harming one of Kyouka’s favorite characters. That’s a big no-go.

Raven’s eyes narrowed, “Then… how do you know so much about me?”
