Chapter Text
“Next stop, Liyue Harbor” a feminine voice called out through the speakers, effectively stirring you from your slumber.
As you rub your eyes, you can’t help but think of what you should expect from the university, would it be as you researched? It had to be right? No way the internet would give you false information-
Actually no, that’s not true.
You shake your head to clear your thoughts, before staring out the window of the train, you’re immediately in awe, as you catch a glimpse of the beauty that was the port city Liyue Harbor beyond the high mountains and rocky terrain.
You continued looking out your window, admiring the small towns that scattered far and wide across the country. It was so much to take in, this foreign land that you didn’t know, ah! It was all to nerve wrecking! But exciting!
As your emotions stirred into a mix of who knows what, the train suddenly came to a slow halt.
“It’s time..” you mutter to yourself, getting up from your seat, how long were you daydreaming for? Who cares, you’re here!
As you step out of the train station, your registration already being handled before hand, you take your first official steps into the city of Liyue Harbor.
-
As you walk the streets of the port city, you can’t help but feel… out of place. The culture was totally different than from your homeland, and your clothing was way off than the norm that ran the streets.
But you brush off your worries, you can’t be put down by a simple diffusion of style! You had a city to explore, not to mention a university to find…
You inhaled the ocean swayed breeze that carried itself along the wind currents, you calm your electrified nerves. And you continued your journey around the city.
You passed by several shops and small restaurants as you walked, you made a mental note of some places that peaked your interest as you walked. Especially that Wanmin Restaurant… it smelled amazing.
You shake your head to not get distracted, you’re here on a mission! Well kinda.
Now that you think about it, you’ve been straying from your so called ‘mission’ for a while now.
“Ugh…” you sigh to yourself, you allowed yourself to get engrossed by the beauty of the city while the University was waiting for you!
You mentally kick yourself as you finally make your way towards the location of the college of your dreams. Your palms already getting sweaty just at the thought of arriving.
-
As you enter the campus, your knees just almost, emphasis on almost, gave out. The place was huge! How would you even navigate the damn place?!
You ponder over your options without even realizing a staff member walking up to you, a tall slender woman in a formal, yet elegant and traditional attire.
“Hello darling, you must be our transfer student. [name] correct?” She asked, a serene smile gracing her face as she spoke to you.
“Huh? Oh yeah, yup, that’s me!” You stammer out, your mind was totally not wandering off admiring her. She could’ve been a super model if she wanted!
“Apologies for not introducing myself, I am Ningguang, head… ‘honcho’ of Liyue University.” Her face scrunched up slightly at the use of the word ‘honcho’. She seemed to be testing out slang words she was foreign too. It was.. charming to say the least.
“Oh, cool. It’s an honor to meet you.” You say as you bow politely, not wanting to make a fool of yourself in front of a pristine woman. “So… are you showing me around?” You ask, silently pleading for a yes. Because there’s no way in living hell are you navigating this place on your own.
“Not me personally.” Damn it. “But, I will have someone else tour you around. Why don’t you sit in the courtyard while I bring them, I’m sure they’re eager to meet you.” She continues, whilst gesturing towards an open seating area where several benches could be located.
“Oh, okay.” You nod as you watch her leave on her heel, you ponder over several things. Was she the chancellor of the university then? Who would she be bringing? Would you make friends?
“Calm down you doofus..” you tell yourself, you inhale and exhale again. Finally walking over toward the seating area, you had to admit. It was a really pretty place, the trees gave the perfect amount of shade and it was relatively quiet.
As you wait, you decide to text your dear friends. Who were probably worried sick about you.

It was comforting knowing you had friends back at home who missed you.
You quickly text them you gotta go, as you see Ningguang and your new tour guide walk towards you.
“Hello again, [name]. Allow me to introduce you to Ganyu, she will be your tour guide on campus.” She explained, stepping aside for the young lady to introduce herself.
“Hi [name]! It’s an honor meeting you” she bowed politely, she had periwinkle hair tied neatly into a low ponytail and had a soft smile. Though her most memorable feature is probably her choice in accessories, as she was adorned with ruby colored horn like hairclips that rested on her head. You had to admit, it looked pretty cool.
“It’s nice to meet you as well.” You responded, returning the bow. “So.. where do we start?”
She smiled sweetly, was everyone this pretty in Liyue?!
“Follow me.”
-
After a long day of walking, and nearly fainting from said walking. The tour was done. How did Miss Ganyu obtain such stamina?! In HEELS?! Actually yknow what, never mind.
“Thats all for today, any questions?” She asked, turning on her heel. Only to see you exhausted just from walking alone.
“Oh. Uhm, no. Actually, yes. I do.” You manage, your calves practically burning. “Am I being assigned a roommate? That’s probably a silly question but I was hoping to get a single dorm?” You asked, you enjoyed working alone. But you didn’t mind working with others! It was merely a preference.
“Oh, yes I’m sure Lady Ningguang gave me.. yes!” She took out a paper and handed it to you, as well as a key. “Here is your room number, I’m confident you’re aware of where the dorms are located?” She asked.
“I do,” you reply, nodding as you admired the intricate design on the key, it had a rocky yet elegant design that was interesting. “Ah, I do have a roommate.” You realize, looking at the name that was beside yours on the sheet of paper.
“Yup! At Liyue University, we want everyone to have at least one companion on their journey to education. We believe it boosts moral here and has other benefits.” Miss Ganyu explained. “If you have no other questions, I will take my leave.” To which you nod, signaling no further questions.
As she walked, you stare back down at the paper.
“…Xiao huh, wonder who that is.” You mutter, testing the name before shrugging it off. Apparently your stuff had already been delivered to your dorm so that was a relief.
You sigh, taking in your new life for the next few years. You take one last glance at the key, before walking again to go explore your new dorm, and possibly, meet your roommate.
