Chapter Text

"Hey Kakyoin, i have some tea left. Do you want it?" The bus was starting for it's long awaited ride. Nothing better than a great tea to start the trip.

"Yes, thank you." He grabbed the bottle of tea from his hands and began drinking. As they watched throughout the windows, the same trees they viewed everyday next to Micheal's house were getting fewer.

After some minutes of ride, the bus stopped to a bus stop. From it, only one singular little boy got it. "One ticket please." He shyly asked. The driver soon enough gave him one in exchange of money, and the boy sat around the middle, resting his head to a window feeling the soothing vibrations of the vehicle.

Jotaro thought that to spend time he could read a bit, he'd sleep later.

Kakyoin decided to simply admire the view and think.

Jotaro began reading, putting interest into the thin paper comic book, some old copy he got from his grandpa Joseph.

"Jotaro, what you're reading seems interesting. May i see?" Kakyoin switched closer to Jotaro.

"Sure."

The stripes of comics were filled with exagerated battles and bright color effects.

"I was sure he'd win. It was obvious" Kakyoin pointed to a charachter.

"Hm. True, its predictable, but interesting." Jotaro replied.

"I remember as a kid , i wanted to be a superhero. My mom said i'd make a great one." Jotaro started talking about it so casually, without breaking his gaze from the comic.

Kakyoin was slightly amused, every kid wanted to be a superhero.

After reading more than half, they were getting tired of it. Maybe keeping the rest for later would be a great idea.

"Jotaro, i think im gonna rest a bit." Kakyoin gave him a polite smile and rested his head on the window.

Jotaro nodded. Maybe he could sleep a bit too, and anyways, what else could he do?

Jotaro crossed his arms comfortably before closing his eyes. The silent ride and the faint sounds of Joseph talking with the others were getting lower. Jotaro felt as he was about to finally fall asleep. He slowly leaned on to Kakyoin's shoulder without realising.

Kakyoin too, was almost asleep. Altough, he was conscious enough to feel Jotaro on him. He didn't fight it, his position was far too good to change.

A child's cries were being heard. Joseph, along with Polnareff, who were the only two awake, noticed the kid crying. Next to him was a man.

The child now screamed, which woke up Kakyoin and Jotaro. They woke up one leaned on another.

"What's..." Kakyoin wanted to asked what was going on. His vision unblurred, he saw the kid , crying, next to a man standing up leaning on his seat.

"Jotaro! That man.. he seems to have done something to the kid."

"I'll go see what that punk wants." Jotaro was confident in his action.

Kakyoin rose up from his cushioned seat and followed.

"Hey, you. What are you saying to the kid." Jotaro sounded ready to punch him.

"Nothing.. nothing. None of your fucking damned business you foreigner." Started off bad.

Not only Jotaro got mad, Kakyoin knew that guy only had bad intentions. "I advise you to get far away and leave the kid alone."

Infront of the threat of a barely adult teen, the man scoffed. "What are you gonna do?"

"Sir.. that man tried to steal my money!" The kid pleaded help from Kakyoin, he was still sobbing , trying to speak up his words.

Kakyoin's expression fastly darkened. "Now thats not a way to act. Trying to steal from someone weaker, a child." This was getting serious.

Jotaro watched the tension.

"Go eat some sushi and dont piss me the fuck off cherry pie." The bad guy smirked in confidence and tried to lean in a punch in Kakyoin's face.

Joseph and Polnareff watched from the back. They knew how it'd end.

Kakyoin leaned his head down and abruptly kicked the man in the stomach. "Good grief Kakyoin." Jotaro watched, amused.

Kakyoin smirked back.

The man was crippled on the floor, grunting in pain.

"Thank you! Thank you sir!" The kid bent in gratitude, and finally, could finish the ride too calmly.

"People like that disgust me." Kakyoin said.

"Yeah, if i see his face another time, he'll need stitches." Jotaro added.

As they came back to their seats, Joseph praised them. "You did good, boys."

This whole story made them forget the fact that once again they were leaning on eachother just some minutes before.

Jotaro pondered and pondered. He knew Kakyoin was the type of person he always wanted to be with. Yet again, he was trying to push a little back his feelings. If only he could be in Kakyoin's mind, it would be much easier.

Jotaro decided to close his eyes again, while Kakyoin, stayed awake.

Once deep in sleep, Polnareff watched Kakyoin maliciously. With one look, Kakyoin scoffed, he knew what he had to do.

"You brought the camera, Polnareff ?" Asked Kakyoin.

Polnareff snickered in smirks. Jotaro was full asleep, and for this, Kakyoin and Polnareff could take the opportunity to take silly pictures of him, they wanted some fun.

"Jotaro will be furious." Kakyoin smiled lightly.

Now, Joseph cleared his throat. "Now you guys... This can't be fun........... without me!" Joseph deviously grabbed a pen.

He wanted to draw a mustache on Jotaro. Lord knows Star Platinum could strike him in a nanosecond.

"Mr.Joestar.." Kakyoin giggled in advance.

And with one stroke, Jotaro had now a drawn on mustache, Kakyoin had time to take a picture, when suddenly Jotaro woke up.

"What are you all staring at. Old man, what'd you do? Kakyoin... What did you.." He widened his eyes and his eyebrows lowered angrily. "Whoever drew anything on me will get beat up. Grow up." In reality, Jotaro did find it funny, except when it happend to him.

"Jotaro, it's only a mustache, here, i'll wash it off." Kakyoin offered.

He was grabbing his handkerchief and a bottle , when Polnareff sultrily whispered to him, "Splash it in face." If Kakyoin went that far it would get bad for him too.

"Polnareff, i heard you. Kakyoin, don't you even dare." Jotaro tugged on his hat, sighing.

Kakyoin snorted. "All right." He simply put a bit of water and rubbed the drawing off Jotaro's face. Again, the touch was unnecessary, Kakyoin started to wonder even why he was doing it instead of Jotaro himself.

"Here, there isn't anything anymore, Jotaro."

"Thank you Kakyoin." Jotaro breathed deeply, feeling his face flushen the slighest.

Polnareff noticed what was going on. "Lil friend Jotaro right here is nervous from the slight touch, you know mon ami, it's okay to be yourself with us."

Maybe Polnareff shouldn't have said that. Jotaro's face reddened, did he just got called sensitive and soft by Polnareff ?

With the blink of an eye, he layed Star Platinum's fist right into Polnareff's face.

Kakyoin gasped, almost surprised, as if this wasn't sure to happend . "Jotaro, it's okay, he was joking." He smiled at him reassuringly. He could've just even caressed Jotaro gently and kissed his forehead and it would've summed up to the same, the embarassment grew.

Jotaro rolled his eyes, giving another glance at Kakyoin, who in return, snorted at him. Kakyoin quickly tapped his hand to Jotaro's shoulder.

Stupid Kakyoin, Jotaro wanted to quickly hug him and laugh with him. He knew it would be too obvious. He retreated his thoughts and tugged on the brim of his cap.

Jotaro knew he should be resting, but how could he when he knew he didn't want more than to be with Kakyoin. He was all Jotaro could think of.

"Jotaro, in some minutes we're getting to the next stop." He smiled widely, traveling was beautiful. Especially with people by his side.

"Finally." His reply was short. Usually Jotaro wasn't so obvious about his feelings, but this once he feared he was.

"Let's go!" Joseph yelled as they were getting off the bus, saying goodbye to the kid from before. "We're lucky, the next one is passing here in some minutes." Joseph added.

"I think i've gotta pee." Polnareff announced. There weren't any toilets.

"Polnareff, go somewhere behind a tree where we don't see you please..." Kakyoin said, displeased. "Oh, and be fast, or you'll miss the bus without us." He added.

"Yeah yeah." Polnareff waved his hand dismissively.

Not even a minute after, Polnareff came back. A frowning face on him. "Can't even piss in the forest that the animals watch me. Thinking it's some kind of freak kink show"

Where did Polnareff even get the idea to say this? Joseph and Abdul laughed, while Jotaro and Kakyoin sighed contemporanely.

"It's here." Said Jotaro, the bus stopped, they entered.

In this bus, too, weren't much people. All minding their own business. Rides like this were calm, but a bit boring. What could they do there?

Kakyoin and Jotaro were sat next to eachother, the rest of the group was infront, in other seats.

Kakyoin thought of something to say. Maybe keeping silent was better.

Jotaro wanted to know a bit more about Kakyoin, whatever it was, he'd enjoy it. He wondered if Kakyoin had already been in love. Judging by the looks of it, Kakyoin didn't seem much of a romantic guy, especially since he's always been alone. But that didn't stop the opportunities of Kakyoin maybe liking someone.

And if he indeed, never liked anyone, if, just by chance, he felt something for Jotaro, that would make him his first love.

What's the point of thinking that anyways, he had no chances.

"I miss Japan." Kakyoin let out.

"Me too." Replied Jotaro.

"It's great here too." Kakyoin didn't know what to talk about.

Jotaro remembered the time they did a fire in the desert in Egypt. The flame seemed to string itself up to the sky and slide away in eternalness. This is kinda how he felt now.

That night, everyone was having fun, talking around the fire and playing games, type of games people would play in middle school and elementary, like truth or dare. Or "guess who did that".

Now that he thought about it, he was already feeling a deep affection for Kakyoin. At the time they didn't know eachother for long, but it felt like they did.

"Kakyoin.." Jotaro wanted to ask him if when arrived to France, they could play games again. Maybe asking it at the right moment would've been better.

"Yes?" Kakyoin looked at Jotaro, waiting for his response.

"Nothing." Jotaro replied, coldly. Idiotic, he just looked disrespectful.

Kakyoin flashed him a wide smile for an abrupt second, before breaking the gaze between them.

Now it was Kakyoin's moment to realise things. He was incredibly grateful for having such a close friend as Jotaro. Maybe he needed to sleep a bit. Rides like this made him want to nap everytime.

It was all white around Kakyoin. Only someone he recognized at first sight. Jotaro, he was blurry, but slowly getting closer. This had to be a dream.

The white background was now transforming into a place that Kakyoin knew. The school. Jotaro and him were standing at the usual place they stayed togheter in breaks.

"When i asked you how you imagined how our futures would be like, i looked forward to hope you'd see one where i was with you." Jotaro said. Not looking at Kakyoin.

Jotaro got closer and closer and slowly placed a kiss on Kakyoin's lips.

As fast as the dream went, Kakyoin woke up. What was that dream? Did he really see what he thought he did?

"Kakyoin, you're awake." Jotaro remarked. "You napped 30 minutes. By the way, i have food with me. Tell me if you want some." He added.

"Yes, that would be great thanks Jotaro.." He stuttered a bit, grabbing a sweet from Jotaro's hand.  He was puzzled from the dream, he wondered why all of his dreams were so weird.

Kakyoin and Jotaro overheard Polnareff's conversation with Abdul. After this bus, they'd stop at a small motel for the night.

It was late in the afternoon, past 5.

They stopped, spotting a motel. "Here, finally !" Yelled Joseph. He, who didn't sleep during the bus rides, would finally rest a bit the night.

The motel wasn't high, and the sign for it was half broken. Atleast it would be cheap to pay.

They entered, getting greeted by an old man at the counter. For the millionth time, Kakyoin and Jotaro had to share a room.

"Hey Kakyoin, im getting a beer from the vending machine, do you want one?" Jotaro turned around to ask.

"It would be great, thanks." Kakyoin nodded, the lines of his mouth curving upwards. Kakyoin walked towards their room while Jotaro stopped for the drinks.

A short moment later, Jotaro entered the small room too. 2 beds. He tracked Kakyoin's movements discreetly. Kakyoin was just searching through his stuff.

"Here, Kakyoin."

Kakyoin grabbed the beer from Jotaro and thanked him.

After minutes of silence, Jotaro briefly saw Kakyoin observing him reticently. Jotaro looked back at him. He thought now would be a great moment to ask him to play. He wondered if it would be akward.

He gathered his courage to finally ask. So stupid, why would he be nervous about this, he lowered his brows and tipped down his hat. "Kakyoin, would you wanna play with me?"

Kakyoin looked at Jotaro from where he was sitting, his eyes widened shortly, before an akswer flew out of his mouth. "Sure." He smiled softly.

Kakyoin felt in a mood to play, it was such luck that Jotaro asked. They both sad cross legged on one of the beds.

"Truth or dare, Jotaro?" Jotaro knew Kakyoin wouldn't ask ridiculous stuff, like Joseph does...

"Truth, i guess." He decided on his answer.

"Okay. What's the worst thing you've done at school ?" Kakyoin was actually curious about it.

"Man.. if i had to decide, it was more than a year ago. I was in class and this teacher was speaking nonsense. Morally wrong nonsense. So, i got up at decided to get out of the class. I didn't choose violence and gave him a chance. But that bastard, he insisted of keeping me and treating me like a bitch. So i beat him up. Half the class was cheering, they were waiting for that. And the other half, were dead silent. Honestly i don't care anymore, but he pissed me off."

Kakyoin was listening carefully, making full eye contact with Jotaro. He liked his voice.

Kakyoin put a hand on his mouth, keeping himself from laughing. " I had that teacher this year. He's still as annoying. Someone oughta put him in his place."

"Yeah, exactly." As they talked, Jotaro got much more comfortable.

"My turn now, Kakyoin." Jotaro reflected for a question or action to make Kakyoin do. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth." Kakyoin chose the simple answer.

"Tell me any memory from your childhood." Jotaro found the most basic question, he didn't know what else to ask.

"Mhmm..." Kakyoin rested his face on his fist and lowered his eyebrows in reflection. "I remember i used to get up on my house's roof, and jump. I jumped because i knew Hierophant would help me. When i told my mom, she had some concerned look i couldn't figure out back then. My parents were really worried. I didn't understand. With Hierophant Green i felt like i was invincible. Sometimes i wish Hierophant could help me feel invincible internally too."

The last sentence made Jotaro feel some type of way. It's true that when you have no one you don't have much. Jotaro hoped he made Kakyoin feel invincible internally.

"Kakyoin. You're not alone anymore. Im with you. Polnareff is with you. We all are." Jotaro seemed serious and he meant it.

Sounded like some fake affection. "I know, Jotaro." He tried not to sound upset.

Kakyoin then lit up in a pestering expression. "Jotaro, truth or dare?"

"Dare." Decided Jotaro.

"Jotaro. I dare you to.. i dare you to make me let you do your hair cutely."

Cutely? Make his hair? Sounded not-promising.

From his bag, Kakyoin got out a comb, and some hair ties.

He crouched right infront of Jotaro, almost touching him entirely. With the comb, he went through Jotaro's dark hair. Their faces were close , too close, but Kakyoin wasn't looking at his eyes, but his hair. So here Jotaro was, keeping a fixed gaze on Kakyoin. He was close, sitting on his knees. Kakyoin was hovering over Jotaro, combing and putting up a work of art in his hair.

Yet again, Jotaro looked infront of him, only Kakyoin's chest in sight. "Almost done, Jotaro." Jotaro breathed heavily.

"Andd, done." Kakyoin's face full of pride and amusement made Jotaro smirk.

"Good grief.." he was watching as Kakyoin took a small pocket mirror from his bag, showing Jotaro his creation.

"You're cute like that Jotaro, do you know that ?" Why did everything that Kakyoin say made Jotaro's heart flutter and ache? Especially with the honest smile Kakyoin was giving him. If he could kiss him right now.

"Kakyoin, truth or dare ?" He interrupted the butterflies in his stomach, looking straight at Kakyoin.

"Dare."

"I dare you to let me do your hair" Jotaro found a comeback and smirked proudly.

"I guess it is what it is. Do your best, JoJo." JoJo...

Now it was Jotaro gently swiping strands of hair from Kakyoin's face. His fingers sliding over his forehead to push away the stray strands. With his other hand, he rested it on the side of Kakyoin's face.

As much as it wasn't obvious for Kakyoin, he was blushing too. A slight red tint on his cheeks.

Jotaro kept brushing, now putting all of Kakyoin's hair into one ponytail.

Jotaro was the one more taken aback. Kakyoin was truly and incredibly beautiful. From the light olive tone of his skin, to the sharp features looked sculpted by God himself. And with all his hair back, his face was fully exposed. He was such a pretty boy.

"Look, you're a pretty boy too." Jotaro half-jokingly said. He wanted to tell Kakyoin that he was handsome and how much he wanted to run his fingers against his skin and on his long lips.

The urge was truly tempting.

"Jotaro.." Kakyoin giggled and nudged Jotaro in the stomach.

The scene was almost ridiculous, both of them with their hair stupidly tied up. The decent looking one here was Kakyoin.

In the moment, Kakyoin laid an hand on Jotaro's knees. A soft touch, however making a big effect on Jotaro, who was slightly sweating already.

An hour passed. One full hour of playing around, and laughs filled the room. Both of them felt like the rest of the cosmos disappeared. Only thing on Jotaro's mind was Kakyoin. And only thing on Kakyoin's, was Jotaro.

Both of them were layed togheter on the singular bed, with only one lamp to illuminated in the slighest. Both of them were about to fall asleep with eachother.

"Kakyoin, i love you." What came out of Jotaro's mouth wasn't even a whisper, it was basically a breath.

"Did you say something, Jotaro ?" Kakyoin asked, sleepy, eyes closed.

"No, sleep well Kakyoin." Jotaro said, still laying close to Kakyoin.

"Sleep well, JoJo." Kakyoin slowly slid a hand on Jotaro's cheek, moving his fingers a bit, feeling his face. Jotaro didn't dare to move. He only watched, eyes almost closed.

After 10 seconds, Kakyoin retreated his hand from Jotaro's face. His once heatened cheek from Kakyoin's hand was now cold. He felt like his heart might burst. How much he wanted to touch Kakyoin's cheek too, hold him tight and slide his hands under his clothes to feel every part of him.

Jotaro closed his eyes tightly , breathing a tad too heavy. Jotaro never felt like this, only Kakyoin made him feel shaming things like this.

Jotaro forced himself not to think about making love to him, decidely, he needed to get ahold of himself and his dirty thoughts. Especially since Kakyoin was so close he could feel his breath. He layed there, wondering if Kakyoin actually did hear what he whispered before. He wondered why Kakyoin would caress him like that, randomly.

He didn't move at all and just spent most of the night thinking, finally falling asleep later.
