Chapter Text
The pitter-patter is calming. Against the windowsills of their home, the chilly temperature it brings in, its unique faint smell.
Jimin gazed at the little streaks of rainwater running down the windowpanes, silently watching as he waited for the broth he was cooking to boil. Jungkook was out with Yoongi recording a track, and Jimin, having finished his shift earlier that day, headed home to get a head start on preparing dinner.
He liked the life they had now. It had been about a century since Jungkook had turned him, and eighty years since they’d been married. They shifted towns frequently, forged passports and certificates just so nobody would get suspicious, and did so every twenty years or so. Currently they were living in Ulsan, and although it wasn’t as happening as Seoul, they both liked the city.
Jungkook had secured a job producing, together with Yoongi for a major company that offered to hide their identities. Vampires were still hidden from the general society, and majority of civilians had no knowledge of their existence except for a trusted few, but Jimin was okay with that. He actually liked the quiet life it gave, the peace he had with Jungkook.
The broth was now producing a quiet noise, bubbling gently. Jimin made the fire gentler, letting it simmer as he pushed in the beef ribs from a board. Galbitang was something the both of them loved, and Jimin had had a couple of decades to master the many dishes in Korean cuisine, keeping his versions of the recipes in a thick book they both used.
He was so focused on cutting the radish into chunks for later that he hadn’t realized that Jungkook had returned. Startled when arms wrapped around his waist, Jimin made a noise after recognizing the ring on Jungkook’s finger, lightly hitting Jungkook’s arm before leaning back into his chest, putting down his knife and resting his own hands atop Jungkook’s.
“You scared me,” He murmured, head tipping back onto Jungkook’s shoulder.
“You should have heard me coming,” Jungkook playfully said, nuzzling Jimin’s neck.
As Jungkook started kissing Jimin’s neck, Jimin shuddered in his arms.
“Now?” He was so used to Jungkook that he knew what certain actions meant.
Jungkook just hummed, turning Jimin to face himself, and tilting his head instead. Jimin, having gotten the message, threw one last glance at the pot of galbitang before leaning in to kiss Jungkook’s neck. The punctures he left the day before were gone, thanks to sped-up healing, replaced by fresh skin.
Without warning, he eases his fangs into the soft flesh, until his nose is pressed against Jungkook’s neck and his lashes are fluttering against the smooth skin. Jungkook’s hands tighten as they fist the material of Jimin’s shirt when he begins to draw blood, the taste spurring him on. Even though it had been nearly a century since he had been turned, Jimin still couldn’t get enough of Jungkook’s blood, so much so that his body rejected any other blood source.
Oh, well. Not like Jungkook minded anyway, judging by how he was squirming a little in Jimin’s arms, letting out sounds they’d be embarrassed to let anyone else hear.
Jimin pulled back after a while, moving to peck Jungkook’s lips. Their arms were still wrapped around each other, reveling in the quiet moment they had together. It was moments like these that made them both ponder about the forever they had together. How blessed they found each other, had each other by their sides.
The pot let out an indignant whistle, jolting the couple out of their reverie. Jimin laughed when Jungkook looked disgruntled, upset that Jimin wasn’t giving him attention.
He liked the life they had now.
