About Time, Taunie

Chapter 4: Question and preview for the Readers

Chapter Text

Apologies for the second bait and switch, but I figured it was almost important.

Given that im writing the Christmas Special after all, how would you all feel if I had it so that Hotel Z has a kitchen? Cuz like...there isn't one. And it's weird. And annoying, given i need/want one for the plot. So if I were to somewhat modify the architecture of Hotel Z, would that be acceptable?

Speaking of, here's a tiny preview:

“—so I’ll be staying in Unova with Tierno,” Lida said brightly to Naveen, hands clasped on her lap. “I just hope he learned to cook, that absolute lazy bones—”

Toss, catch.

“—and I definitely hope he has better dance moves to teach me,” she continued, barely sparing a glance at Paxton. “Last time, he ‘taught’ me something so basic, you’d think he crawled out of our mom’s womb a few years ago instead of like twenty years—”

Toss, catch.

“In anycase,” the girl tried to continue, sounding increasingly distressed, “I think—”

Toss, catch.

“Will you please stop that?” Lida finally protested, turning to look at Paxton. “I’m trying to tell you what I’m doing for the holidays, and you’re driving me crazy!”

“Huh?” Paxton said as his head lolled in her direction, Poke Ball still in hand. “What was that?”

She glared at him, although the heat was minimal. “My plans! My wonderful, exciting plans! And what are you doing?” She gestures at him. “Playing with your Poke Ball. I have feelings, you know!”

Across from him in the red chair, Taunie looked up from her phone to shoot him an amused look, although Paxton saw what lay behind it before she busied herself again.

Heaving a small breath, Paxton turned back to Lida and shrugged. “I was listening…mostly. Besides,” he said, ignoring her splutter, “it’s Gardevoir’s ball. If anyone has a problem with it, it’d be her. Right, Gardevoir?”

They looked over to the couch in front of the hearth, seeing only the back of the Pokemon’s head before one green hand was raised, just enough for them to see that only the middle digit was held up.

“See?” Paxton said, gesturing to her as though she didn’t flip him off. “She doesn’t mind. Although, I really wish she’d break that habit.”

As Gardevoir lowered her arm, Naveen quietly snorted. “Where did she even pick it up from? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Pokemon do that before.”

Very, very small preview. So, let me know if I can keep the kitchen, or alter my plans a bit.

Notes:

Wanted to ship these two for a while. Got the motivation to finally. Review if you'd like, or not. I don't mind either way.

Thanks to the Lord for the writing skills that I should be utilizing more.
