Chapter Text
The place was quite far. He hadn’t even realized he drove that far until he saw how far the city lights were. Sanji sighed in his seat, his hands gripping the steering wheel harder than he should. He needed a smoke break but with how lost in thought he was, he left his lighter. Having no choice he grabbed his keys and pack of smokes hoping someone inside had a lighter for him to borrow. Entering he noticed how dim the lights were, only sparks of gold flickering around. The scents inside the bar were mixed together making Sanji sniff out more than one scent. He walked up to the front taking a stool only giving a nod to the bartender before ordering. Sanji looked around, most people here had partners or were in groups. Pretty much he stood out as a loner. He sighed as he waited for his drink, his head resting on his palms. He could see people smoking, making his mouth immediately watering for one himself.
Letting out a sigh, closing his eyes ready to ask the bartender if he had a lighter to spare. Except when he opened his eyes there was a hand extended out holding out a lighter. His eyes followed the line of muscles, eyes curiously following the black ink. His eyes got drawn to the words ASCE before his blue eyes flicked over to the man sitting next to him. There was a sly smirk lazily hanging on his lips as his other hand tipped his hat back. Alpha, he thought as their strong scent hung around him. Sanji raised an eyebrow carefully, expecting the other man sitting beside him. Even so their playful demeanor did not change instead they pulled themselves closer. Sanji could even see the light freckles that spread around his face.
“I thought you needed one since you've been sighing ever since you got here. Looking like a pitiful kitten who just wants a smoke.” They started. No greetings or even bothering to introduce themselves. Yet Sanji couldn’t help but indulge so he leaned in carefully giving him a small smirk. “Well aren’t you a gentleman.”
Taking out his pack of cigarettes he tapped on his box, his lips reaching out just for one. He knew that the man next to him was watching. His eyes glued to his every action and the small sly smirk he had was now a big grin. “Please let me.” He raised the lighter, coming closer than he needed to but Sanji did not mind—no not one bit did he mind. Pushing his hair back, he leaned in, his blue eyes staring directly at black ones. Such a mystery behind those black eyes Sanji thought.
With a flick of his thumb the lighter turned into flames, lighting up his smoke. “Never introduced myself, did I?” The man chuckled softly as soft curls dropped to his face. Sanji just smiled, tilting his head back to exhale all the smoke he managed to gather. “Names Ace, Portgas D. Ace.” Ace said. Taking his lighter back before extending his hand back towards him. Suddenly he could hear a slow steady beat playing around them but he paid no attention. The name rang a bell but he could not place on why.
Smiling, he took Ace's hand, surprised when he took his hand up towards his lips. Softly kissing the edge of his knuckles, Sanji would be lying if that didn’t make his heart skip a beat. “Sanji Black, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“The pleasure is all mine.” Ace grinned, his hand never letting go of his.
“Really? Well, aren't you a flirt.”
“A beauty like you deserves more than just flirting, so–can I offer you a drink?”
Sanji gave a half–suppressed laugh, his eyes moving away. It’s been a while since he had someone upright flirt with him. His mind flashed the image of Zoro and his smile. The stupid green hair moss alpha in his home with his pup. He turned back to Ace who was awaiting for an answer. “Sure, why not.” And the smile that Ace gave him was almost enough to forget Zoro.
They sat together laughing and drinking together like old friends catching up. It took Sanji by surprise at how much fun he had with Ace. He couldn’t stop reaching out for him, tilting over to touch his bare arm and have his head fall forward to his shoulder. Ace on the other hand was making sure he was always steady, his hand quietly falling around his thigh. Softly rubbing circles around his plush thigh and Sanji would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy it. He couldn’t help but lean into the touch, such warm hands holding him close. He couldn’t help but crave for more, Sanji snickered as Ace just smiled questioningly. Their scents dangled around them as more touches were shared. He must be more drunk than he had imagined if was already like this with just some touches.
He sighed softly leaning over the table, his hand swirling his drink before drinking. Ace just watched that’s what he mostly did, Sanji noted. He carefully watched almost as if he didn’t want to make him uncomfortable with his presence. Taking another cigarette and placing it onto his lips he leaned closer to Ace. He closed his eyes a little bit too long and the sight of Zoro had replaced Ace. He shivered back at the thought of it, Zoro leaning in taking his chin as his larger hands flicked the lighter on. He gulped down saliva that had built up in his mouth, and he tried to focus on inhaling the smoke. Filling his lungs with enough smoke to burn his lungs but the feeling was so good.
Shakingly his hand took his cigar from his mouth, opening his mouth to let the smoke all out. He opened his eyes to only be met with green ones except black ones. The smoke blurrying his view and it was so easy to believe it was Zoro the one sitting in front of him. Except when his view cleared it wasn’t Zoro but Ace. And this time his face was inches away from him, Sanji should pull back and say no but he couldn’t. He just wanted to believe. It was him and not Ace, he knew that was unfair but with the buzzing around him and the alcohol in his system—he wasn’t thinking straight at all. Just this once. Ace’s eyes swirl with such want that made him gasp in his spot, almost dropping his cig.
“Here, let me.”
When did they got this close, he could basically feel Ace's hot breath. He watched as Ace removed his cigarette from his mouth, placing it somewhere where he couldn’t see. His eyes remained still on his figure. He could see how good Ace's body looked, muscles well formed from whatever gym activities Ace did. Sanji tried to breathe but it felt like he could no longer breathe. He could feel sweat forming on his back causing his shirt to stick to his clothes. Since when was it this hot?
“Do you want to step outside?” Sanji turned to see Ace offering him a water bottle. “We did drink quite a lot and it feels a bit hot in here don’t you think.”
Sanji took the water, his mind swirling with what Ace truly meant. If he were to step outside with Ace and hookup with him will everything be alright later on. He gulped down the water shutting his eyes as another flash of green passed through his eyes. He really couldn’t forget about that stupid alpha.
“Sure.”
He took his hand and stifled a laugh as he fell forward. Ace just smiled and wrapped his hand around his waist. Carefully laying his palm on his back pulling him closer. Letting the warmth he carried to wrap around Sanji. Sanji smiled following Ace lead towards outside the bar. “You know I never asked, what brought you here?” He turned his head away from Ace as he asked. A laugh leaves his lips as he remembers the real reason why he came all the way here.
“Just wanted a…” His blue eyes traced over Ace “distraction.” He finished. Ace chuckled as if he knew what he meant, what truly hid behind those words. “Don’t worry i’m a great distraction, i’ll make sure to make you forget anything and I mean–” Ace leaned down, his lips brushing against his. “Everything.”
Sanemi shivered at Ace’s word, heat bubbling on his stomach as he held onto Ace. Boldness was what he felt as his hand reached out, his fingers sliding through Ace's curly hair. His eyes drawn towards the dark ones and without thought he kissed Ace.
Zoro glared at his so-called fiance but being respectful out of his father, he kept his mouth shut. He wanted so much to open this car door and run back towards Sanji. Tell him it wasn’t what he thought it was…he was an idiot. He could already hear Nami agreeing and adding more to how much he was an idiot. Clicking his tongue, he leaned back, the food in front him untouched and only drinking the bottle of beer. It wasn’t even that good. After tasting Sanji’s homemade food nothing was the same. He hoped if he used Chopper cuteness Sanji would still let him back inside his home. He really wanted to see him again.
“Is the food not to your liking baby?”
Zoro could barely hold back his cringe as he heard Hiyori call him baby. He looked up to see her plate not even halfway finished with her own food. They were going to be here for a long time. “No, I ate before coming here.” Yet he picked up his fork and began eating, he didn’t want Sanji finding out he left a plate full.
“Ah yes! You were in that famous restaurant before I arrived with my future father in law!” Hiyori cheerfully said. Completely oblivious to Zoro choking on a mouthful of steak. “I heard you were friends with one of the workers there. Perhaps you can ask them to make a reservation for us there for our next date.” Zoro was now chugging his bottle of alcohol like water to clear his throat as he listened to Hiroyi’s words. He slammed down the bottle causing some of the tables around him to glance towards them even causing Hiroyi to flinch back.
He stared at her for a few moments trying to figure out what words he should say. That he didn’t want to marry her at all. That he was going to tell his father to annul their wedding. And that there was no second date especially in Sanji’s restaurant. He opened his mouth but all sentences he managed to form disappeared in an instant. Hiroyi tilted his head but Zoro was no longer looking at her, he was looking at two behind her. Zoro's grey eyes widened as he recognized that golden hair. He might be forgetful on some things but he knew that figure standing across him. His eyebrows twitched as they rose at the person next to Sanji. Why was Ace out of all people with Sanji and how did they know each other!?
“Zoro–baby? Is there something wrong? You look like you saw a ghost.” He couldn’t hear what she was saying. All his senses were focused on his omega.
He was ready to get up, to march over there and pull Sanji away from Ace. To pull him back to his arms and bury his head in Sanji’s neck. Scent him, claim him as his own–
He found himself frozen watching Sanji kiss Ace. His eyes followed every movement as Sanji pulled Ace closer burying himself into his arms. The way he nuzzled into that bastard's chest letting that bastard smell his scent. He clenched his jaw feeling the pressure of his teeth grinding together. He should go over there and stop them. Zoro needed to move–he needed to move. That's until a hand pulled on his hand and his eyes snapped back to another omega that wasn’t Sanji. He wanted to snarl at them to let go but when he realized it was Hiroyi he snapped back. He looked down to see her teary eyes and people around them shuffling away as they whispered among themselves.
He had let his anger take over and the table around him smelt like an angry alpha ready to cause a scene. Letting slow breaths through his nose, he forced himself to relax. His eyes were right on Sanji following him until he disappeared behind doors. With hands around Ace the whole time.
“Zoro, are you still upset with me?” Hiroyi sniffled next to him and Zoro wanted nothing more but to leave. He glared at anyone that still dared to look at them before turning over to her. “I know this isn’t what you wanted, Zoro but I love you. I want to be your omega.” She wrapped her hands around his arm pressing her chest against him. He really wanted to push her away.
“I want to be your mate.”
He immediately stood up, waving at the waiter nearby to give them their bill. He could feel the way her scent clung to his clothes. Truly he did not favor her at all. Pulling her towards him he quietly walked them towards the exit only pausing to get his card back. Hiroyi next to him just smiled, her smile filled with happiness because Zoro had let her cling to him. Making their way outside, Zoro paused his steps, turning towards her.
Hiroyi's heart skipped a beat. Was this the moment she’s been waiting for? Did her confession and tears break through Zoro’s cold heart? She beamed at the thought. Her hands pressed together and to her chest. “Hiroyi…” She let out a sweet scent, one that would make alphas fall for her. She tilted her head up a small blush on her cheeks as she answered. “Yes?”
“I do not want you. Not as my omega nor as my mate. I do not want you at all.”
“Eh..?”
“I already have someone who I planned to make my mate and that person is not you Lady Hiroyi so do not delude yourself into thinking I will take you as mine.”
Zoro was blunt. He was cruel. The same person that has crushed many people he disliked or his captain order. He wasn’t going to waste his time letting Hiroyi confuse herself into thinking he favored her. She was not Sanji. She was not the mate he wanted to claim. Taking a bit from her, he glanced at her heartbroken face. The smile she had–gone. He could see the tears forming in the corner of her eyes but he had no plans on comforting her. “You can take the car we came in. The chauffeur is there waiting inside and they will make sure to take you home safely.”
Pulling out his phone he sent a message to someone ignoring Hiroyi who called out for him. He could tell she was full on crying now, but he couldn't turn back. He had to go look for his omega who was with someone he shouldn’t be. No one can touch Sanji–no one. He was his and the future mother of his pup. Ace better brace himself when he finally finds him. Sanji was his to touch, to feel, to mark as his. No one was going to take him away from him.
