Echoes Of Broken Containment

Chapter 2: Staying For Comfort

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Scott has teleported with Martyn in front of Sausage’s house as he knocks on the door. There was no response to his calling. So Scott takes his phone out and texts the author trying to ignore the door.

After waiting a few moments he hears a voice behind him. “Ah, Mr. Goldsmith, what brings you here?”

The vampire turns around and sees Ren standing behind him. Scott had almost forgotten that Ren went to therapy for his voice about a fifty years ago. “Yes, Ren it is nice to see you. It has really been too long. Did Sausage not tell you?” Scott pats Martyn’s head that seems to be clinging onto him not wanting to let go from what seems to be his only ally here. Doesn’t matter if this is a death game or not.

“He just said that you were coming with someone and said that you were probably lying about who it was and didn’t tell me.” Ren looks Scott in the eyes gazing at him harshly. “You would do well to learn not to lie to get what you want Goldsmith.”

Martyn looks at Ren and snaps. “Scott would never... actually yes he would.” His eyes meet Ren who has red eyes but still has his burnet hair. “Ren, it is you!” Martyn didn’t recognize his voice at first but it is clear who he is by the sight of him.

“M- Mr. Woodhurst? What are ya doing here?” Ren slipping back slightly into his old way of speaking has his voice shake as he reaches out for him.

“Why are you also calling me Woodhurst?” Martyn steps back aghast at what feels like some massive prank being pulled on him. “Both you and Scott are in on this aren’t you? I- I thought you both cared about me!” Martyn feels as if he is about to burst into tears. “Or is this some type of red life-”

Martyn freezes cutting himself off. No, this isn’t a death game that he is forced to participate in. He has been alive here in this world under a different name. “Sorry, I forgot. I’m not there. Please call me Martyn Ren, my last name doesn’t matter.” His voice is quiet as he goes back to Scott and wraps his arms around him tighter then before.

He is a stranger here and he does not actually know these people. Yet the ticking in his head won’t quiet down.

“Do you mind if we come in Ren?” Scott pats the siren’s head once again to hopefully keep him under control.

Ren sighs and puts his gardening pliers that Scott had just noticed away in his pocket. “Aigh, sure, you can come in.”

Both Scott and Martyn sit on couch in front of the coffee table together. Scott looks over and sees Martyn shaking as they wait for Ren to bring him some tea. He isn’t good with calming people down, especially not a god. But he feels that maybe he can try anyways. “Tell me what where you are from is like?” Maybe that wasn’t the right question to ask but he does anyways.

“I’m from many different places but-” Thud Thud Thud you’re wasting time. His own voice echoes through his head. That was many games ago, but that life was more traumatic more ingrained in his conscious. He wraps his arms around himself as he starts to shake.

“Come here Martyn.” Scott motions for the person next to him to come closer and when he does Scott wraps his arms around the man that is probably about a foot shorter then him. Come to think of it Martyn Woodhurst was taller. But he can’t think about that much at the moment.

“Thank you Scott. I know you aren’t the same person, but I love you.”

The confession catches Scott off guard. What was that version of him to Martyn? Clearly someone special if he was close enough to proclaim his love. What exactly is love? That is probably something that he can’t explain well.

Is it what he feels for Shelby and Drift? He can’t quiet place it, is it whatever the hell this weird feeling he has for Abolish? Scott may never know. No, there was someone that he did love and then he was put to sleep and woke up six hundred years later.

“Even though I know you aren’t really him. It is odd because in a way, I still feel him near you if that makes sense.” Martyn gets up trying to ignore the clock in his head as he gets on top of Scott’s lap facing him as he cups his hands over the vampire’s face. “You are there, aren’t you? Please, give me a sign that you are still there.”

Scott stays quiet as he doesn’t know how to actually respond to that. He doesn’t want to let this person down in front of him who seems to be giving him affection with no ulterior motive. Yet he can’t give him the answer that he wants. He has no memory of this version of Martyn. “I’m sorry.” Scott makes himself look away to break the eye contact he has. He would actually love to continue to look into this Martyn’s eyes but he needs to make it clear that he doesn’t know him.

“Of course, that was foolish of me. Sorry.” Martyn gets up and goes to the couch on the other side of the table as he curls up realizing exactly how alone he is. Normally Scott, Ren, or even Cleo would help him through events like this. But he truly alone. He wants to be with them. But nothing that he says would make those versions of them be here.

A shadow stands over him as he looks up and is handed a cup of tea. “Why so sad Martyn.”

Martyn takes the tea and takes a sip of it. “My partners aren’t here. They look like they are, but neither of them remember me.” He looks up at Ren and sees the scene of him getting killed by Scar flash through his head as he drops and shatters the cup on the ground. “Ren!”

Ren places his hand on Martyn’s shoulder. “I am right here lad. No need to worry. I don’t know what happened there. But I am here.”

Martyn looks into the man’s eyes and breaks down. He is still the same person from what he can tell. Even if he doesn’t remember anything. Then he looks at Scott who seems to be uncaring but can tell that he has some form of concern for what is going on. “You both live separately, but I want to be with both of you.”

“I have room for you to stay if you want. But It would probably be better if you primarily stayed here. You are welcome to come to the penthouse anytime if you want.” Scott responds to the siren that is being hugged by the vampire/werewolf hybrid.

“Aigh, Sausage and I would love to have you here. I would want to learn more about who this version of you is.” Ren lifts up Martyn’s head to make eye contact with him.

Martyn looks down and gives a small reply as he steps closer to Ren for a form of comfort. “I think I will. Thank you.” He closes he eyes as the ticking in his head is on going. Even if they aren’t the same people, at least he has his two partners back. Things should get better.

Notes:

So this is the end of the Martyn mini fic. I think I have maybe two or three moe fics in this series before I start uploading the main fic that all these tie into. Although the main one will definately be more adult in nature. Anyway, I hope that you all enjoyed this one. <3

Notes:

So this is a mini chaptered fic that only has 2 chapters. The first chapter is titled similarly to how the main fic of this series is going to be chaptered. There are a few more mini fics/oneshots for this that I want to write as to give more back story to what is going on. I do hope that y'all are enjoying this series. <3 I will aslo upload the next chapter tomorrow.
