*Cozette sighed softly as she sat down on the log. Wiping off a bead of sweat off her forehead as she stretched her arms and legs. Who knew keeping your eyes on two brothers and making sure you kept them out of trouble could be so tiring…*
*She carefully picked up a stone and tossed it into the woods. With the sounds of rock against bark hitting her ears a few times before it found a place to lay and rest. And she had to admit…The small rock was pretty determined to bounce off as many trees as it could before stopping.*
”I hope you found a comfy place to stay tiny rock. I also apologize if I harmed you by throwing you against those trees…” *Cozette said with a calm expression and tone before realizing how silly her words sounded. It wasn’t like the rock could respond or understand her after all.*
*Then, a soft rustling came from the bushes behind Cozette. Almost like something was approaching her. So, fearing that it could be a wild animal, she did her best to stay still.*
*But, her fears were quickly diminished once she heard a familiar voice.*
”Cozy, what are you doing out here?”
*Cozette audibly sighed in relief as she realized it was just Technikki. Her originally tense shoulders and expression relaxing immediately as she saw her girlfriend sit next to her.*
”H-Hey Techi…” *Cozette said as she she felt Technikkis arm gently graze against her arm. A soft blush growing at her face from the touch.* “I’m just r-relaxing after t-taking care of Mario and Luigi for the d-day…What were you d-doing?”
”Just messing around with some tech before I decided to look around for you. I got a little worried about you you know?”
*Cozette smiled at Technikkis explanation. She had to admit, her concern was nice after what…She herself did.*
”Ok…Th-Thank you for deciding to check up on me.” *Cozette said with a gentle, if slightly sad smile. Which Technikki took immediate notice of.*
“Something wrong with you Cozy?”
”H-Huh? Oh, no, I’m ok…” *Cozette said as she looked away from Technikki and up at the moon. Which Technikki knew was her trying to avoid her question.*
”Come on Cozy, I know you’re worried about something. You can tell me what’s going on.”
*Cozette shifted uncomfortably at Technikkis prying. But once again, she knew she was just worried. And she had no reason to think she would hate her right?*”
”Ok…U-Um…Why did you f-forgive me so easily?” *Cozette asked as she gently inched closer to Technikki. Resting her hand on top of Technikkis as she did.* ”I-I thought everyone still h-hated me for what I did as…Him…”
*Technikki let a slow, if sad smile grow onto her face as Cozette spoke her mind. Because she did understand where she was coming from. If you were manipulated/mind controlled into serving a cruel god of loneliness and separation and did awful things, you’d probably not be easily forgiven.*
”Well…It’s kinda hard to explain. You see, you and Zokket were kinda like two different people. Even though you shared the same body, your personalities were completely different and separate from one another. Let me put it this way…Let’s say you do something nice, like donating some coins to a charity. While Zokket does something bad, like destroying a house. Would I need to blame you for destroying the house or congratulate you for donating to charity?”
”…U-Um…” *Cozette said as she was clearly overwhelmed by the large explanation that Technikki dumped on her. But she was able to give an answer after she calmed down.* “B-Both?”
”No no Cozy, I would blame Zokket for destroying the house and congratulate you for donating to charity! You two are so different that I and all of Concordia thought you were different people for so long. So, why blame you for the things Zokket did? Plus, you’ve done everything you can to make things right. And…That’s what endeared me to you. You’re one of the most beautiful and sweetest Concordians ever to me. So, let me just say this…I love you Cozy.”
*Cozette felt herself tear up from Technikkis long, sweet, and comforting words. With her gently hugging Technikki as soft tears fell.*
”I-I love y-you too Techi…” *Cozette said as she gave Technikki a gentle and quick kiss. And then she nuzzled into her embrace.* “Can w-we stay we f-for a while?”
”Of course Cozy, the moon is pretty beautiful tonight…”
*And so, the two slept in each other’s embrace under moonlight. With Cozette feeling a sweet calm for the first time in a long time…*
