Chapter Text
Liam, His own brother, was just standing there like a complete and utter idiot. Even worse was the smile he had plastered on his face as he looked down at him. “Well? I hope you don’t plan on just standing there, you look stupid doing that you know.”
“right, right, sorry Caleb,” Liam said as he walked in and shut the tent door, bringing the tent back into near darkness. Liam continued to stand there in the dark for a little bit longer, just enough time for 032 to wonder if he should “I got a surprise for you” 006 had said with a very concerning tone within his voice.
“What is it, some kind of bomb?” 032 said jokingly, though when 006 didn’t say anything to 032 he quickly started to panic.
“DID YOU BRING A BOMB IN HERE?” Caleb yelled as he quickly went to grab his stuff and run far away from his brother.
“What? NO! Liam said as he grabbed Caleb by the head and covered his mouth quickly shutting him up while also shushing him. Calbe struggled for a bit through Liam’s firm grasp on him before he finally let himself still.
A rather clear reminder of how outclassed he was when he was fighting 006. “Can you please just shut up,” Liam whispered, “Look, I have something for you, but I need you to be quiet okay?”
“Mhhmhnm,” Caleb said against Liam’s hand, which had caused Liam to look at him with a very puzzled expression on his face, but it was rather short lived as Liam soon yelped when Caleb licked his hand.
“Eughh,” Liam said as he quickly wiped his hand against the plain black T-shirt they were all made to wear. “That’s so gross,” Liam whined.
“Next time release someone when they. stop. screaming,” Caleb snapped back, Liam only waved him off, before finally beckoning him to follow him.
And since 032 was a lower number, he had to play follow the leader, like he was back in fucking elementary class…
So 032 grabbed his stuff and followed behind 006, who was walking way too fast for him to be in a more casual mood. 032 just couldn’t help but wonder what 006 could possibly have that he just couldn’t give him in the safety of his tent.
Surely… surely, Liam wasn’t stupid enough to try and give him contraband… right?
No wait, his brother is 100% dumb enough to do something like that. Maybe, it won’t be that bad? Like some kind of magazine or CD that he stole from The last job?
Of course there was the usual option of drugs and alcohol that they stole, or bought through favors from the employees at camp. Liam is an addict after all, he doesn’t even really hide it with how his breath constantly stinks like smoke, and him always having a cigarette close by when he isn’t being watched.
Hell, maybe that bag had one of those big bundle packs that he used to see all the time when he was younger. It could probably hold maybe 3, or so? Give or take a few more.
Hopefully, this will just be 006 being like the other numbers and flaunting their status…
032 gritted his teeth the entire way to whichever blind spotted area within camp he chose to take him too. Usually, he would be able to guess, since practically everyone knew all of the spots by now.
But it was also a known fact that the highest numbers have their own special areas… it’s why they’ve been able to get away with so much stuff anyway.
But, as they continued to walk, and got closer and closer to the main building… the more spots 032 had crossed out in his head. It was only when they were maybe a mile or so to the building when 032 realized that 006 was leading him straight to the office building where mad dog and the rest of staff were located… He doesn’t know why.
Eventually 006 stopped and ordered him to wait there, reaching something in his pocket as he went over to one of the guards.
032 watched as 006 had his hands out above his head, as he made his way over there. Something soon glinted in the setting sun’s light when 006 made his way to the guard and soon got to chatting.
Both of them seem to be rather friendly with one another too… it was rather odd in 032’s opinion, even stranger when they had shook hands and 006 beckoned him to come closer.
And like the ever so good soldier, he listened to his higher commanding officer’s orders, and walked over towards 006. Following him into the building as he kept his head low. “What did you just do?” He said.
“I don’t know what you mean, I was just talking with an old friend!” Liam joked, “I mean, connections get you everywhere right?” Liam’s voice was far too hollow for his smile. Eyes worried as well while he kept his fake demeanor on.
Always acting like things were fine and okay, like he couldn’t read him at all… and, sure, yeah it’s been a bit, but he couldn’t just forget about Liam’s obvious quirks.
He was always just a bit too obvious when you finally knew what you were looking for…
“Yeah… connections,” Liam paused for a bit in the hallway after he said that, making 032 stop for a second, only for Liam to later continue walking.
And Normally, he would’ve started up another conversation with Liam, but… something about the way Liam was acting in the current moment made him not want to do that. Besides, 006 was, for some unknown reading, speeding up slightly as they went through the building.
The further they went, the less he recognized. The hallways felt less and less used until they eventually came in front of a hidden door, one of many in the hallway.
“Caleb… what I’m going to show you, needs to stay between us okay.” 006 said, as he opened the door to reveal a storage closet of sorts.
The room, despite how abandoned this part of the building seemed to be, wasn’t at all dusty. Evidently meaning people frequented it.
032 followed 006 into the closet and locked the door behind him. The room itself wasn’t big, nor was it small, they both had a decent amount of space, probably more if they moved some stuff here and there.
But either way 006 was looking at him with a different, more serious and cold expression on his face. “006 what’s going on… you’re acting weird.”
“Caleb, please.”
“Please what?”
“Can you keep this a secret.”
“…”
“…sure, yeah whatever just tell me.”
Instead of actually using words, Liam just chose to actually show him it. Which was unsurprisingly in the bag he had been carrying the entire time.
“Look 006, if you’re going to keep this whole mysterious vibe or whatever, you coul-“
032 soon found himself looking at his brother holding a small black device. More specifically a phone, which was by all means… contraband….
Liam could’ve gotten himself killed just by holding it, people have died here for less after all.
“Liam… what the fuck.”
