Chapter 8
Law after getting his emotions under control, texted his group to meet at Ikaku's place. After he got positive reply from the group, he freshened himself a bit and left the house to meet the group. He also later realized that he had taken the submarine keychain with him and was going to throw in the dustbin. His hand was hovering above the dustbin with the keychain dangling from his hand.
After few moments he shoved the keychain angrily in his pocket and started his walk towards Ikaku's place.
Once he reached, he was going to ring the bell but before he could do so, somebody already opened the door. It was Penguin.
"Yo Cap! Just on-" he greeted Law but seeing Law's face, he pulled Law inside, closed the door and hugged him.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Law just nodded. He stepped back after a moment and asked, "Is everyone in the room?"
Penguin noded to which Law started walking towards the room with Penguin following him behind.
When the other four saw Law they were surprised at his appearance. Penguin just shook his head as if to say not to ask anything for now.
Law threw the file on the table and spoke, "Thank you for giving this file Ikaku ya."
Ikaku was a bit puzzled at his statement and asked, "What file, cap?"
Law pointed at the file and replied, "Information about Lu-...I mean Mugiwara ya."
She was stunned and so were the others but did not show much in their expressions.
Ikaku quickly grabbed the file and checked. She was shocked at the information but she was sure she did not sent the file. She gulped a bit knowing Law won't like what she will say.
"Law….I did not send the file to you." She said slowly.
Law was shocked at that and so were the others. Only one thought came in everyone's mind.
'Then who was the one that had send the file?'
Ikaku quickly Sat in front of her computer, doing something while Law stood beside her looking at the thing she was doing with the rest surrounding them.
Ikaku had pulled camera footage of the area and checking it thoroughly. They saw a man who was keeping the file in front of the house, ringing the doorbell and then exiting. Law was shocked to see the person who kept the file was Vergo, the man who has tormented him both in reality and in nightmares along with Doflamingo.
Ikaku checked other camera footage and saw the man exiting the apartment and getting inside a white car and driving of somewhere. She checked other angles but could not find any number on the car.
Law was deep in thought of thinking what can he do next since his location was discovered. While the rest were silent not knowing what should they say.
Shachi then decided to break the silence and asked, "Captain, Luffy was going to come at your house. What happened with him?"
"I told him to leave the house and never to show his face in front of me ever again," Law replied, his tone devoid of emotion.
"But wouldn't it be better to take help from him since he is a detective? You are already anonymously sending tips to the police…" Jean Bart voiced his opinion.
"Which is going great since they can't do jackshit." Law replied while giving a cryptic smile.
"But what are you going to then?" Penguin asked.
"Go to another city," Law replied.
"No!" Bepo replied sternly.
"That will be the best option," Law replied calmly.
"I said no. You can stay with me. Nobody will be able to find my place. But you are not going to go alone," Bepo said sternly.
Law countered, "Bepo, I can't risk your lives to save mine."
"I don't care. You are not going anywhere where we won't be able to help you." Bepo replied implying that the topic was over. Law was going to reply but Ikaku spoke up.
"Bepo is right. We have known what are you upto and whether you like it or not we are already involved."
Law again wanted to protest but Penguin spoke up, "That's true. Me, Shachi and Bepo have already followed you and we will keep following you whether you like it or not."
Shachi also added, "True. We are not regretting our decision and never will. So you better depend on us more. Got it Law?
Law was overwhelmed with emotions. He was grateful for his friends but his heart ached knowing what happens when someone gets involved with the family. But seeing the determined expression on his friends faces he decided to just accept help of just collecting information and for lookout. Nothing more than that.
"Thank you," he said to them weekly.
His friends were happy that he accepted their help but knew deep down that Law will keep them at arms length even if they are helping him.
For the time being they decided what they can do as a precaution and got busy in it. Law was thankful for that since for the time being they forgot asking about Luffy.
