"Don't you know its impolite to go through other's belongings?"
Sora processed the words before letting out a short laugh. It was bitter, yet amused. Sora glared at 05 in anger. Who does this creature think he is? To call them impolite?
"Shut up." They snapped at the entity. They backed up closer to the wall.
They were acting like a scared animal; they were shaking, yet trying to appear intimidating, as if it would make 05 back off.
"We were getting along earlier… this outburst is just unnecessary." 05 muttered to himself. His gaze was sad. He was trying to guilt Sora.
Their anger only flared up more. They looked at their surroundings. They could attempt to run, but they could assume 05, or one of the others, would probably try to stop them.
"I'm not gonna be stuck here with a entity who's been drugging me for who knows how long." Sora glared into the entity's eye. 05 only stepped closer.
"Is that so? Well then, let me ask you this," 05 stepped closer. "If you were to run… where would you go?"
Sora was about to answer before going silent. Their words got caught in their throat. 05 was completely right, and 05 could tell as he smiled patiently.
"Admit it, Es. You don't know where or what the exit is. There are 10 of us and 1 of you. Your chances of leaving this world? Leaving us?? They are slim to none, little one," 05 finished with a chuckle, ignoring Sora's disgust at the pet name. Sora knew that if 05 had a mouth, he would be smiling.
"Now… I'd prefer it if we'd do this the easy way rather then the hard way. But, I will leave the choice to you. Will you follow me back to your room?"
05 stepped closer to Sora. His gaze darkened as he leaned down. 05 was now at eye level with Sora.
"Or you can continue to be difficult, and force me to resort to Sedation."
Sora looked down towards the belt that was wrapped around 05's waist. They noticed a needle in the holster. It was slightly obscured by the entity's coat.
They decided to try and compromise. Their brain was on auto-fire and the only thing they wanted to do right now was get away from 05.
"I'll go to another's entity's house. Is that fair?"
05's gaze dug into Sora.
'Please… please agree.' Sora pleaded to whatever force brought them here. As if their prayers were answered, 05 let out a sigh, nodding.
"Very well. Who do you want me to call over?"
Sora thought for a moment. They looked at 05. His gaze had gone back to a more patient stare. Sora went over the entities in their head.
'02, 09 & 010… I don't know them, so no.
01 & 04 haven't shown to be any threat… although I don't know much about them either… so not them.
Maybe 03 or 08? Or 07? No. 03 burned my arm. 07 seems like he'll just tell 05 everything I say…'
That left Sora with one option.
"06. I want to see 06."
'Sure, she creeps me out a lot… but she was kind enough to show me around. And she doesn't seem like she'll tell 05 every detail of our conversations.'
05 quietly nodded as he turned around and walked off; presumably to call 06. Sora was now left alone with their thoughts. Each one making them more and more paranoid.
'How long have I actually been here? Do the other entities know about this??' Sora ran one of their hands over the area where 03 burned them.
'The burn doesn't hurt that much anymore. That's good.' Sora thought, trying to focus on anything other than their increasing paranoia.
Sora exited 05's room, walking down the stairs as they heard 06's & 05's voices. 06 seemed to be excited. She was speaking fast, and her voice was high pitched.
"I have a room prepared for them and everything! I'm sure they'll love it!"
05 let out a soft chuckle as he nodded along, acting as if he didn't threaten Sora just a few moments ago.
'Why is he acting like this is normal? Why is he acting like everything is fine?' Sora's grip tightened on the railing. They walked down the stairs. Both of the entities' turned to look at them.
06's gaze brightened to an almost impossible degree as she rushed to hug Sora, almost spinning them around. It reminded Sora of their first encounter with her. 05's eye narrowed at 06's roughness.
"ES! You don't know how happy I am that you chose to stay with me. We're gonna have so much fun together, just you wait!" 06 excitedly said. She was already pulling Sora out the door. Sora could almost see flowers floating around her.
Sora looked back to the entrance where 05 stood. The entity watched Sora leave, his gaze unreadable. Sora decided to focus on where 06 was taking them.
06 seemed pretty happy, she was basically skipping. Sora decided to try and get some information from her while she was still in her cheerful mood. Who knows how long until Sora accidentally says something wrong and sends her into a panic?
“So, uh, I'm curious about something."
"About what?" 06 asked curiously. She didn't look at Sora, but she did slow her walking.
"About… what this place is. I get this is meant to be my new 'home' and all, but—"
"Ooh! This place was made by that wish you made!" 06 explained, promptly cutting Sora off.
"Wish?"
06 chuckled as she ruffled the teen's hair, making Sora cringe as they attempted to fix their hair.
"Silly Es! Don't tell me you forgot?"
Sora just stared at her, their brows furrowing. 06's cheerfulness increased at their confusion.
"Oh, you're just so adorable when you're confused!"
"You still haven't answered my—"
"We're here!" 06 cut Sora off once again. Their attention turned to 06's house, which, of course, was heart shaped. It looked as if someone had splashed every possible shade of pink and called it a day.
The door even had a heart shaped window. In front of the house was a white fence, flowers growing in the grass.
A sign sat near the fence's gate.
[ 06's house!! <3 :) ]
'Of course. I don't know what I expected.' Sora thought to themself. Sora let out a sigh, making 06 narrow her eye in worry.
"Es? Are you upset? Don't you want to go inside? Are you allergic to flowers? I'm sorry I should've been more considerate…"
'Oh god, I upset her.'
"No, no, it's not that! I'm just… tired. We've been walking for quite a bit…" Sora spoke softly. They hoped that 06 would fall for their bluff. It worked as 06 let out a sympathetic whine.
"I didn't know humans needed so much rest! It's okay, you can rest all you want when we get inside!" The entity pulled Sora inside, kicking the door shut.
Sora was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer amount of pink that coated every inch of the house. Everything had a cutesy aesthetic and was almost like they were in a dollhouse.
"I wasn't expecting so much… pink." Sora commented, talking more to themself than 06. 06 hummed as she pulled Sora into the main room.
"Well, pink is my favourite colour! It's cute, represents love, and matches my outfit!" She explained in a cheerful voice. She placed a hand on the side of her 'face' and closed her eye as if she was daydreaming.
"You're very… passionate about love, huh?" Sora commented as they took their shoes off. Even if these entities were weird and pushy, Sora knew to at least show some level of respect when in another person's house.
'Wait. People?'
"Let me show you to your room! I prepared it myself!"
06, once again, grabbed Sora's arm and pulled them into a small bedroom. The first thing Sora noticed was the amount of plushies that were scattered around the room.
A pile of them layed against the wall beside the door. Another pile sat on the bed, and there were three on the drawers beside the bed. Sora felt a mixture of emotions at the sight.
They felt offended at the fact they seemed like a child to 06. They felt overwhelmed by the amount of plushies that surrounded them, and they felt slight horror at the fact that the bed actually seemed enticing to lay on.
"I… don't know what to say…" Sora commented honestly. 06 smiled, taking Sora's negative emotions for positive emotions.
"You can lay on the bed if you want!"
Sora considered declining, but seeing how easy it seemed to make 06 upset, they gave in and walked over to the bed.
They sat on the pink, heart-patterned fabric. It was comfortable, surprisingly. However, Sora still felt suffocated by the plushies, but they kept quiet. 'God, it feels like I'm walking on eggshells around her.' They thought to themself, holding back a sigh.
06 then left the room, telling Sora to get some rest. Sora's head snapped up. 'Is it seriously night-time already? Does time go faster here?' Sora wondered as they gazed at the clock above the bed's headboard.
11:00 PM
'I guess it's understandable? I mean… there was the dinner party… and then that whole… thing with 05.' Sora's head started to hurt, a ringing sound in their ears. Sora decided to stop questioning the passage of time and layed down, closing their eyes.
They didn't want to sleep in this unfamiliar house, they just wanted to sleep through their headache. So they let themself slip into unconsciousness.
Sora was woken up by the sound of a doll falling off the drawer, causing a 'thud' as it landed the ground. They groaned and sat up.
'At least my headache is gone.' Sora thought, relieved. They looked at the fallen toy. They considered ignoring it, but for some reason felt the need to pick it up.
They stood up and walked over to it. They leaned down and picked it up, feeling the fragile porcelain. They noticed it's leg had fallen off, they would probably have to tell 06 about it in the morning.
'Actually… what time is it?' They careful set the doll and it's leg back onto the pink wood. They turned back to the heart-shaped clock.
3:00 AM
Sora was about to go to bed, when an idea popped into their head. It was a stupid idea, but an idea nonetheless.
Sora listened for any noises before slowly exiting their bedroom and walking through the house, towards the door. Thankfully their footsteps were naturally light, so they could walk around fairly easily without alerting anyone.
They arrived at the door and looked outside through the small windows. It was raining. They would be harder to detect. They could run. They could run, and never look back. They could feel free. Sora recalled 05's words from earlier.
"If you were to run… where would you go?"
"Admit it, Es. You don't know where or what the exit is."
Sora faltered. They knew 05 was correct. What if they starved? Died of thirst? Could they even come back to life in this world? If they died here would they die in real life? They didn't want to die, but they couldn't stay here.
With what optimism they had left, they opened the door and stepped into the rain. They looked at the night sky, before looking to the forest.
They ran, finally tasting freedom for the first time since their arrival. Even if it was a temporary freedom… It was freedom nonetheless.
