On the road - 1989.
"Are we there yet?"
Robin leaned her head on the palm of her hand, as it rested on the window, glancing out to look at the scenery. She knew the drive was long, but couldn't stop herself from asking him.
"We've only done 5 out of the 20 hours we have to do, We'll stop soon and get some food and a place to rest. "
Steve glanced at her briefly, before his eyes found the road again, one hand on the steering wheel and the other moving to wind the window down to let fresh air flow through the car so they wouldn't die in there.
Robin groaned, before moving herself to lean back on the passenger seat dramatically, her hair falling into her face.

After a while, Steve finally pulled up to a diner and the moment he took the keys from the ignition, Robin opened the latch to her car door and leaped out.
"Freedom! I was getting so bored."
"Please, it was only an extra 10 minutes, come on then."
He rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his hair once more, pocketing the keys, checking for his wallet. Once he was sure he had it, he dragged her towards the diner. Pushing open the door, Robin navigated to a table and plopped herself down. Looking out the large window as the set on the horizon, the late afternoon glow traced patterns on the table and she motioned for him to sit down.
"Don't you just miss waking up everyday to do the announcement? Okay like, for example-"
She paused, before breaking into a grin.
"Good Morning Hawkins, your DJ Rockin' Robin has returned with a bunch of new tracks.. Blah, blah, stuff like that."
Steve just looked at her with a look of confusion as he picked up a menu.
"Has something gone to your head Robin? Or did you forget that the job we have involves a radio station?"
"Oh. Oh! Right, yeah, I was just wondering how I could start this time, or if they'll even like us."
She trailed off, before picking up a menu aswell, thinking over what to order.

After they finished eating and getting back into the car, Steve spoke up again.
"We're just going to fill up on gas, then we can find a motel to stay at for the night and continue the rest of the trip tomorrow."
