Gamma 02: New Beginnings!

00: the old
After Goku took down the Red Ribbon Army when he was only a child. The super genius Dr. Gero, who had been corrupted by the association began to make androids with the sole purpose to kill Goku and his friends. The Red Ribbon Army was also hiding as a pharmaceutical company to remain anonymous and gain funds after their defeat at the hands of Goku. Years later, an android clone of Dr. Gero sets loose evil androids, Goku and the Z Fighters vanquished the threat, but it wasn’t easy. Eventually, Carmine and Commander Magenta of the Red Ribbon Army recruited the young grandson of Dr. Gero, Dr. Hedo. Having never known his Grandfather or the Z Fighters, Dr. Hedo eventually agrees after being promised the opportunity to make android heroes to stop the “evil” Bulma, Goku, and friends. Of course the Z Fighters were never evil, the Red Ribbon Army just tried to paint them that way. This led to the creation of the heroic, but misguided Gamma 1 & Gamma 2.
After his creation, Gamma 2 finds the “evil king” Piccolo to test out his strength. Gamma 2 mistakenly thinks he defeats Piccolo, who actually escapes and follows Gamma 2 back to the Red Ribbon Army’s hidden base. Piccolo gathers intel as he’s in disguise as a Red Ribbon Army solider. Then he pretends to aid the Red Ribbon Army in the kidnapping of Gohan, son of Goku’s daughter, Pan. Pan goes along with this plan as she’s known Piccolo her entirely life and trusts him entirely. Because Gohan doesn’t know what’s happening, this prompts him to rush to the Red Ribbon Army’s base once he’s sent a video of his “kidnapped” daughter. Once he’s there, Piccolo reveals himself and the two commence in battle with both of the Gamma’s. Eventually, Gamma realizes that Piccolo isn’t the one he should be fighting after Commander Magenta tries to shoot Pan. However, the two Gamma’s and Dr. Hedo already had their suspicions. At this time, everyone stops fighting and all seems well. And then— Carmine runs off to try and let Cell Max loose, an android based on one of Dr. Hedo’s old creations who almost led to the destruction of all of humanity. Dr. Hedo knows the creature isn’t stable and he tries to stop Carmine, but it’s to no avail. Cell Max is awoken, more of the Z Fighters arrive to try and fend the mindless powerhouse off, but nothing is working.

A week or two prior.
After Dr. Hedo created Gamma 1 & 2, he gave them each these flash drives and informed them not to tell any one of their existence. He also informed them that if they were ever in a life threatening situation (which he assumed his greatest creations would never be in), they were to use these drives to store copies of all their memories is case they were killed— or even annihilated. Dr. Hedo knew he could easily recreate their bodies, but he couldn’t recreate their memories. Gamma 2 doesn’t see the point at first, after all, how could he have all people, Dr. Hedo’s greatest creation and bringer of justice be defeated? But Gamma 1 insists he takes one as well, you never know what tricks evildoers could have up their sleeves to take hero’s out. Gamma 2 accepts that answer and keeps his drive on him.

Even with the help of the Z Fighters, they couldn’t beat Cell Max. Gamma 2 knew what he had to do, and Gamma 1 knew it too. Gamma 1 knew what that look meant.
(However in this AU, things go down differently).
“Number 2, you can’t!” Gamma 1 exclaimed in shock as he realized what 2 was going to do, “don’t do it!” he added. “There’s no other choice,” Gamma 2 reminded flippantly, “then I’m going too!” Gamma 1 insisted. Gamma 2’s expression turned serious as he glanced at his brother, arms outstretched halfway as he prepared to launch into the air, “wait 1, you need to go save Dr. Hedo” Gamma 2 explained. “What?” Gamma 1 remarked in confusion, he assumed Dr. Hedo had died in the commotion earlier, “check your life sensor, he’s not dead yet” 2 added after a moment. “But I thought he was—“ 2 interrupted, “oh you didn’t think to confirm it?” Gamma 2’s tone turned to slightly teasing his brother as he raised an eyebrow, 1 wasn’t usually so careless. The moment was cut short as Gamma 2 let out a yell as he began to charge up his energy, Gamma 1 and the Z Fighters were left staring up at him. “Now attack! And when you see me go in for the final blow— get as far as you can away from here!” That was the last thing 1 heard his brother say before he took off into the sky in a ray of blue light. Gamma 1 and the Z Fighters did their best to keep Cell Max busy— Gamma 2 came crashing back down, using 100% of his remaining energy. Gamma 1 shielded the unconscious Dr. Hedo with his body before his brother made contact with Cell Max.

It was too late— Cell Max noticed Gamma 2 in time and shielded itself from 2’s final attack with it’s armored, insect like arm. Gamma 2 did damage, but not nearly enough to finish Cell Max off. Gamma 2’s final sacrifice— it had failed..? No… Gamma 1 wouldn’t accept it- the Z Fighters wouldn’t accept it! 2’s sacrifice may not have ended Cell Max right on impact, but it provided the damage that Gohan, Piccolo, and Gamma 1 needed to finish the brute off. The villain was defeated— all was well now… right?
Gamma 1 carried 2’s body, now lifeless, over to the now conscious Dr. Hedo. Gamma 2 looked so… dull and ashy, covered in dirt, his clothing all tattered, torn, nothing like his usual, cheery and bright persona. 1 set his brother down on a piece of rubble as he kneeled next to him, visibly scanning for any signs of life. A breath, a twitch— anything. It didn’t matter, after all, his scanners had already detected it, Gamma 2’s life force— his energy had been completed depleted. He was gone. Dr. Hedo rose to sit at Gamma 1’s side as they watched Gamma 2’s remains slowly wilt into dust— and blow away with the wind. Gamma 2’s eyes widened slightly, he tried to reach out to his brother, but his hand only caught ash. He stared down at the ash in his glove, hand trembling slightly as he hesitantly loosened his grip, he could only watch as the last remnants of brother flew with the wind. 1 grit his teeth as his unfocused gaze landed on the spot where 2 once lie, only moments before. That was his brother, his partner who fought by his side— reduced to dust, right before his very eyes. He could slightly feel the presence of his creator, Dr. Hedo at his side, only focusing again when he heard the doctor gasp. Gamma 1 was almost prepared to turn to the Doctor and converse as if anything else was happening right now. He looked over at the Doctor, coming back to reality only to notice Dr. Hedo fussing and pointing at something— Gamma 1 came back to reality and whipped around to look. And then— Gamma 1 saw it
