Chapter Text
The blissful sunrise woke Izuku up. The purr that his chest unconsciously rumbled was of content. Izuku then stretched his hand out to pick his phone up and check the time, and saw he had two hours left until he had to get to UA.
He turned back to Katsuki and nuzzled close to his scent glands. He could spend his whole life taking in his mate's scent.
Then, all of a sudden, Izuku's stomach rolled from a sudden wave of nausea. Izuku slapped a hand on his mouth and whimpered. He threw the covers over himself and on Katsuki and swung his legs over the bed. He stood up but the quirky movement made dizziness roll over him and his nausea worsen.
He made his way over quickly to the en-suite bathroom and flicked the lights on. The lights were dim, thank goodness. Izuku closed the door out of reflex. His knees hit the tiled floor and he hunched over the toilet. Another wave of nausea hit him in waves and he gagged once, then started retching uncontrollably.
He felt a warm hand be placed on his back, rubbing circles to try and soothe. Izuku felt the waves of nausea die down for a bit and he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He spat the foul taste in his mouth and flushed the toilet. He leaned back and turned his head into Katsuki's chest. Katsuki pumped a calming scent, a caramel scent mixed with charred wood. Katsuki snaked an arm around Izuku's waist and waited for him to catch his breath.
"I hate puking." Izuku grumbled, clearly frustrated from the great start of the day.
"Yeah, I'm sorry Izuku." Katsuki said, guilt dripping in his words. Izuku lifted a hand and laced their fingers together.
"Don't apologize. It's not your fault that morning sickness is a part of pregnancy." Izuku said softly, his green tea and rain scent having the faintest hints of magnolia seeping through his scent glands. He did notice his scent had more of a magnolia undertone but it would change to a more milky one as his pregnancy progressed.
"Do you feel alright to go to work? Maybe you can miss to-"
"No. I'm not missing today, or tomorrow, or any day where I feel the slightest of under the weather. I'm pregnant, not dying." Izuku drawled, fondness being evident in his words. He loved it when Katsuki showed his worry, that hardship with distinguishing feelings Katsuki had being long gone.
"I know, rabbit. You just need to know that a break is available." Katsuki pressed, lifting a finger and tapping the tip of Izuku's nose, making Izuku chuckle wholeheartedly.
"Okay, okay. I got it Mr Worry-pants." Izuku teased, sticking his tongue out at Katsuki.
Katsuki leaned in a nipped on Izuku's cheek, and went in to scent them. That intimate moment made them forget about the new chapter of their lives. That life sitting between them, developing in Izuku's womb.
"We should get ready. You have patrol today." Izuku put his hand on the floor to ease himself up, but Katsuki, with the still snaked arm around Izuku's waist, helped him up.
They started their normal morning routines, getting ready for work, patrol for Katsuki, and teaching for Izuku.
Katsuki went downstairs to prepare breakfast. Izuku stayed in their bedroom to get his bag ready.
He was searching for his scent patches, when he also saw the pregnancy test that Katsuki had placed on his nightstand, proudly displaying it.
Izuku smiled and thought for a moment. When should he tell his parents? His siblings? His friends? His class? U.A? It would maybe be safer telling them as early as possible but the thought burned into his mind, swirling with different ideas on how each of them would react. Would they congratulate them, or would they think Izuku's just throwing his hero career aside. Izuku had worried about his hero career, but Katsuki had promised him he would do anything if someone had any bad intentions about his vulnerability.
Shouta himself is an infertile omega, having adopted children who needed someone to trust. Someone to run to if they needed. Hizashi had supported all of his mate's decisions. He still does.
Izuku picked the pregnancy test and shoved it in his bag, leaving the decision for later. He found the scent patches after rummaging through his nightstand drawers, and placed one on his scent gland.
He made his way downstairs, the warmth of the kitchen settling into his veins. He saw that Katsuki had made some quick ramen, a small portion, which Izuku was grateful for, not being up to stomaching much food.
They ate in silence, Katsuki's hand on Izuku's thigh, his thumb stroking circles in a repeated motion. Just showing that he's here. Always here.
When they finished, dishes cleaned and all, Izuku and Katsuki made their way to their car. Izuku went into the passenger seat again, being the one that's getting dropped off.
The drive to U.A. was long, their house being in a more suburban location to avoid stalkers and reporters. Izuku's mind raced with thoughts, scenarios rushing through it.
"Izuku," Katsuki's voice cut in, "I know you're overthinking." He accused. Izuku was about to say otherwise but Katsuki added on quickly.
"No one will do anything, not if I'm still standing. Still next to you. They would have to go through me to." Katsuki grinned like a little kid. He was wearing his winter uniform, since the February weather wasn't too warm.
"I know that Kacchan. But I can't help to think… what my mother's reaction would be." Izuku let his actual thoughts slip out and not just rolling with a lie that felt foreign in his mouth. He sighed as he looked at his flat stomach. The stomach that was carrying the next generation.
"I-" Katsuki wasn't one to stutter, or one to be unsure of what to say, but in front of Izuku? He could be vulnerable all he wanted. So he thought for a moment, looking at the road intensely. "I can't say for her, but your old men are going to be ecstatic. I can already sense Hizashi planning the gender reveal and the baby shower." Katsuki was quick to help soothe Izuku's worries.
"Oh yeah. They so would be." Izuku laughed. He knew his worries wouldn't die down completely, but they weren't as noticeable as before.
The ride was quick after that, Izuku and Katsuki getting in a little argument on which song to put next. Katsuki then let Izuku to put his song, but Izuku felt so guilty that he put Katsuki's option. Katsuki wasn't happy, but a quick scenting on the wrist from Izuku was all it took for the fire to die down.
Katsuki parked in the U.A. staff's parking lot. He helped Izuku up, Izuku blushing when Katsuki gave him a quick nip on the ear.
They made their way to campus, Katsuki holding each door they passed for Izuku. When they reached the teachers' lounge, Izuku took the lead and turned the handle, opening the door and walking in.
He was immediately greeted by his coworkers, Izuku smiling warmly and giving a greeting back. Katsuki followed him in and closed the door behind him.
Izuku spotted that so familiar yellow sleeping bag. It was dense so his dad was definitely in there, taking a power nap before having to deal with the students his dad calls 'hell spawn'.
Izuku then let his eyes wander to find that familiar blond hair and green eyes and found them in a matter of seconds, his papa immediately feeling Izuku's gaze on him and looking at him. Izuku pulled Katsuki by the hand and walked over to his papa, not having the heart to wake his dad up.
"Hi papa!" Izuku waved and almost took off in a sprint as he threw himself in the awaiting arms. Hizashi was quick to adjust to Izuku's weight, having done this time and time again.
"Hi squirt." Hizashi answered, the room cooing at them. Katsuki was smirking, happy to see his mate happy.
"I see you have a favorite now?" Shouta teased, quirking an eyebrow from the hole in the cocoon he had wrapped himself in.
"Dad, no! You were sleeping and I didn't want to bother you." Izuku reasoned.
"I was teasing, 'Zuku. Why'd you bring Problem Child #2?" The nickname gave Izuku nostalgia. Izuku was, of course, Problem Child #1, being proud of it at now.
"Um, I actually have something to tell you." Izuku's eyes trailed over and found the oh so familiar blue eyes of his mentor. All Might, or Toshinori as he preferred to be called now, was smiling warmly at Izuku and Katsuki.
"Kacchan and I are inviting you to a gathering at our house. All of you. We'll tell our class later today. Think of it as a reunion." Izuku smiled, knowing that it wouldn't just be a reunion.
"Oh! When would that be sonny?" Chiyo asked. She was older, frailer, but that stern look had never left her expression even in the slightest bit.
"Whenever you guys decide is best!" Izuku answered softly.
"What about Sunday 28th?" Shouts suggested, cocking an eyebrow at his pup and son-in-law.
"That works! Everyone okay with that date?" Izuku turned to scan everyone and came to a conclusion everyone was happy with the 28th. It was only February 16th.
"I'll get going Izuku." Katsuki declared, leaning in to cup Izuku's face.
"Oh okay." Izuku answered softly, this routine having done time and time again. Katsuki was standing in front of him, blocking Izuku from everyone in the room with his broad shoulders and back.
They shared an intimate kiss, one that showed they don't want to leave the other. It was quick, but full of love and affection. Izuku pulled back, a sweet smile forming on his lips.
"See you later, nerd." Katsuki teased, turning on his heels, but still looking at Izuku. He left the room with grace and swiftly made his way to the car.
"I should probably get going to class too then." Izuku said, looking at his dad for confirmation if he had homeroom today with Class 3-A. A slight nod from Shouta was all it took for Izuku to leave the teachers' lounge and make his way over to homeroom.
He stepped into the room, noticing the absence of some students, but almost all were sitting calmly in their seats, either having a quiet conversation or just doing something on the desk in silence.
"Good morning!" Izuku greeted, waving his hand at his class. The class radiated happiness and joy and all the scents mixed perfectly. Izuku beamed and walked over to his desk, taking his bag off of his shoulder and placing it on the floor.
"Morning Deku-sensei!" One of his students, Kaito Yokoshi, greeted Izuku, his notebook sitting neatly in front of him.
"Alright, I'm just going to get my stuff ready and then when everyone gets here we can start!" Izuku announced, earning a couple of 'Yes sensei!'s across the whole room.
The rest of the students missing trailed in quietly, greeting Izuku on their way in, and made their way to their seats. Izuku started explaining that they were going to have some history lessons together and later will Izuku lead them to the training grounds.
Name call went smooth, no students off for today it seemed. Izuku told the class to make their way to the changing rooms, a routine that they knew off by heart.
Izuku was waiting for them down at the training grounds. He was texting Katsuki, their conversation being mainly about the appointment they had tomorrow. Izuku smiled warmly.
Izu:
You have to remember I have class tomorrow, it's just history though so I will be able to make an excuse to leave. We should tell Nedzu, though.
Kacchan:
Yeah, I know babe. Telling Nedzu is a good idea, but maybe after we get it confirmed by the obstetrician.
Izu:
Yeah, I was considering that, too.
Izuku looked up and realized that some students were starting to come in view. They were quick, but Izuku thought he would have a bit more time.
Izu:
I'm going to go, Kacchan. The kids are coming.
Kacchan:
Okay. Love you.
Izu:
Love you, too.
And so the long day ahead began
