Chapter Text
If your enemy approached you right after you have killed him and said, "Hey Jude! let’s team up!" wouldn't you have been skeptical?
of course you would. So, when Sharpness approached Jude, he was surprised— but more than that, he was tempted. I mean if the Sharpness— ranked top 100 in the world—asked you to team with him, could you really say no?
it was the ultimate gamble. But Jude was a man who never let a good tragedy go to waste. He saw the risk, sure, but he saw the opportunity even clearer. He thought he could outmaneuver the soon-to-be architect of his own slaughter.
₊˚⊹⋆——————————
Sharpness and Jude were collecting the items from Tai’s death they orchestrated.
While bound by their allegiance, the "death trap duo" had made quite a name for themselves. With both the trapper and the swordsman appearing to be an invincible force, Jude was still uncertain about Sharp's loyalty—
"Jude!"
"Huh?" Jude looked up to see wide eyes staring back at him.
"Were you even listening?"
"I, uh... picked up some parts."
Sharpness let out an annoyed groan, rubbing his temples. And they said he was the dumb one.
"Whatever. Can we go back to our base now?"
Jude lets out a low hum of acknowledgement, matching the other man’s pace to walk beside Sharpness.
A comfortable silence settles between them as they walk toward the base. It’s the kind of quiet Sharpness has grown to appreciate, a rare moment of peace on the server.
The silence is interrupted by Jude’s voice, as if announcing his presence all over again.
"Deathtrap duo sounds too cliché. Do you want to hear what I think a good name for us?" Jude asks Sharpness, his tone almost teasing.
Sharpness glances at Jude, a signal for him to continue.
Jude continues to list out his ideas when Sharpness allows him, "We can be called something cooler, since you're the bait and I'm the trapper! Something simple... For example, I'd be called the master trapper, you'd be the master baiter!" Jude smiles widely, Sharpness replies with a slow rising smile and he laughs.
"We're not keeping that name, even if its you’re dying wish." Sharpness wipes a tear from his laughter, Jude shrugs.
"It's pretty good if you think about it!"
Jude laughs with him, a light atmosphere as they walk to their base. He'd like them to stay like this, for a while at least, a long while, Jude hopes. Their laughter softens to a smile as they continue walking.
Once they arrive at the base, Jude organizes the stuff they collected from Tai. He browses through the chests, placing the items in the chests where they matter. He slows his hands as he glances at Sharpness, turning back to the items, inspecting the armor. His fingers trace the white trims of Tai’s armor.
"Hey uh, sharp?" Jude asked, his tone isn’t rough nor soft as he speaks to Sharpness.
Sharpness let out a hum of acknowledgement
"can you get some materials for me?"
"yeah, sure what is it ?"
Jude pauses for a moment, then exclaims "Oh! good I already sent it to you, check your discord." Jude visibly beams with happiness—looking hilariously adorable—who could say no to a face like that?
Sharpness stares, just for a minute, maybe two. He stares not at the wall or the floor, but at Jude, who is already busy carefully organizing their current stash. Sharpness lets out a small huff.
Well... As Sharpness takes a look at the list, he might take that as a threat, his brows furrow, tightening into a knot as he rereads the list almost four times. Seriously, who needs this much redstone...!? He shouldn’t have underestimated how much materials Jude might’ve wanted. Traps aren’t easy to make, but this was insane.
His steps are soft on the wooden floor; Sharpness calls out to Jude on his way to the exit. Sharpness calls out over his shoulder, “I’ll be back. I’ll go grab the materials you need.”
“Yup!” Jude replies, already distracted by his blueprints.
….
Sharpness walks around spawn, lost in his train of thought. How was he supposed to get all these resources as quickly as possible?
He stood there for a moment, weighing his options, before he spotted Spongs,
Perfect.
Spongs was his teammate, so it only made sense to ask for his assistance. Sharpness wasted no time cornering him.
“Spongs, can you help me gather resources for Jude?”
Spongs paused, giving him a flat look. “Why are you getting resources for jude?”
“becauseee…” He replied—dragging the last bit before continuing “I sorta teamed up with him?”
Spongs started at him, deadpan. “You ‘sorta’ teamed up with the guy who tries to trap everyone on the server? And now you’re his delivery driver?”
Sharpness shifted his weight, avoiding eye contact. “it’s tactical, Spongs. He’s a good teammate and trapper. You could even call him a master at trapping.” He let the inside joke slip out with a soft chuckle.
“You looked at Jude with those rabbit ears and folded, didn’t you?”
Sharpness turned an abnormal shade of red and looked away, his Serbian accent coming through thicker than usual.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Me and Jude are just teammates” he muttered, his voice coming out much quieter and lower than expected.
Spongs just stared at the so-called ‘deadliest player’ on the server for a long beat. He let out a loud scoff before finally speaking up.
“Fine. I’ll help.” Spongs rolled his eyes. “For you, not for your boyfriend.” Emphasizing the fact he means two separate words.
Sharpness gave him a glare before setting his pride aside. “What we need is a lot of redstone... a lot of wood, iron, honey, slime, and stone.” He trailed off, glancing at Spongs and waiting for his reaction
Spongs, noticing the heavy stare, finally cracked. “Holy list, bro. Like—this better be worth my time, bro”
Sharpness let out a small, breathy laugh, the tension finally breaking “Mhm. Okay, let’s go”
Spongs had lead the way onto Judes old trap—the one that had been griefed a few days earlier by someone on the SMP. (the enemy is always closer than you think.)
“Are you sure this is, ok? I mean… Wouldn’t Jude get mad?” sharpness asked anxiously, eyes darting around the ruins.
Spongs pondered for a heartbeat before settling on an answer “Yeah, of course! After I griefed his trap, he never bothered to use it again so… “ He didn’t finish the sentence, seemingly more focused at the task in hand as he began breaking and grabbing whatever resources were left.
“I just don’t know he might get mad at me-” Sharpness was cut off as a dozen TNT minecarts fell from absolutely nowhere. He glanced up to Spongs to check if he’s the one who placed them.
“What the fuck is that??”
[Spongs was blown up]
Judelow: LMFAO
Sharpness: What??
“Ugh whatever...” Sharpness huffs, brushing the dust and gunpowder off his armor as he steps out of the smoking crater. “Of course he makes a mess.”
“I’m okay!” He heard Spongs shout from a distance.
After a few stressful and tiring hours of mining the resources Jude asked for, they finally completed the list.
Sharpness’s inventory was a mess of multiple shulkers, filled to the brim with the materials Jude had asked Sharpness to grind for. His hands were stained with iron grit and had a noticible red hue from the hours spent in the caves with that included redstone dust. He was pretty sure he still had a stray bee following him from the honey trees.
He looked down at the sheer amount of resources he gathered. It was an overkill, really, but something about the way Jude had beamed at him made it feel necessary.
Beside him, Spongs let out a tired groan, wiping sweat from his forehead. “We’re done, Sharp. Please tell me if we’re done.”
“Yeah, sure I’ll just hand these to Jude” Sharp said, slowly turning back to Spongs—only to discover he’s already bolted. He let out a tired sigh, finding it amusing yet not entirely unsurprising.
Arriving at Judes base was a short walk, but the anticipation was heavy. His heart raced with a mix of exhaustion and excitement; after hours in the dark mines, the thought of finally seeing Judes face made it feel worth it.
Sharpness went down the flight of stairs in Jude’s burrow-like-house. At the bottom was where Jude stood, but he wasn’t looking at Sharpness—he was frantically placing obsidian blocks around a piston.
“Took you long enough!” Jude chirped, not even glancing up. Ears twitching much more than it always did, distracting sharpness greatly.
“Did you get them all? I need them all sharp, the timing is all off.”
Sharpness blinked, Jude wasn’t really paying attention and it made him feel a bit deflated. “I—yeah. I got everything. Multiple shulkers, Jude. I’ve been in the mines for hours.”
Jude finally turned around, eyes widening as he took in the pathetic state of his teammate. Sharpness was a disaster: redstone dust caked onto his hair, iron grit under his finger nails, and that single, persistent bee hovering over his shoulder.
“Wow.” Jude snickered, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “You look like shit.” He reached out, poking at a particularly dusty patch on Sharpness’s shoulder. “Is that all for me?” he teased.
Sharpness felt that familiar heat rising to his face, making his Serbian accent thick and heavy. “Don’t touch. Its... it’s a mess. Just take the boxes”
“aww so grumpy” Jude teased, finally taking the first shulker. He checked the contents and his grin widened. “Perfect. By the way, I forgot to mention—I actually need about… Four stacks of obsidian now too, since you’re already dirty, you wouldn’t mind, right?”
Sharpness stared at him, stunned. “Jude, I just-“
“Thanks, princess” Jude chirped, disappearing into the base with a cackle.
“Nezahvalna kučka..” Sharp muttered under his breath, his serbian accent think and heavy with a mix of annoyance and something dangerously close to affection.
He let out one last tired sigh, adjusted his gear, and turned around. He had a lot of obsidian to mine.
He grumbled slightly, turning to the nearest reflective surface to look at his pathetic and dirtied form right now. Are you kidding me? Now he has to mine more? And obsidian out of all the materials?
“Better get to work then!…” He heard Jude say far in the base, his voice fading as Jude walked further.
Sharpness would get his revenge one day.
But for now, he’ll play nice.
~~~
“I got him all this shit and he doesn’t even say thank you.” Sharpness huffs, his boots hitting the grass with a heavy thud as he walks away from the base.
He wipes a smear of redstone dust across his cheek, only making the mess worse. The exhaustion from the mines is finally catching up, and Jude’s casual dismissal is the final straw.
“He’s such a bitch. I don’t even give a fuck anymore,” he mutters, his voice dropping into that low, angry tone. “The next time he pulls some shit like that… I’ll make sure he understands.”
He turned to the door, preparing for another trip to the mines. He didn’t want to bother Spongs again and with more backbreaking work. His hand reached the back of his neck, massaging the nape area lightly as he turned his head to the left and right.
He grabbed the pickaxe from his bag, it’s heavy weight settling in his grip as he tested its weight. His footsteps heavy, leaving a trail in the shallow layers of snow. Redstone powder hadn’t completely left his shoes, a soft red glow mixing with the snow he stepped on, a soft red in the snow. His arm holding the pickaxe swung lazily as he walked.
His boots crunch under the snow as he goes further out, reaching the mouth of a deep, jagged cavern. He’s heavy with frustration, his movements sharp and angry. He plunges into the deepest parts of the cave in search for lava.
When he finally finds the glowing orange pools, he doesn’t hesitate. He pours his bucket, the hiss of steam filling the cramped space as water meets heat. The sound aggressive as his thoughts.
He begins to mine, the steady, slow thud of his pickaxe against the obsidian becoming a rhythmic outlet for his rage.
His arms that lifted the pickaxe to strike the obsidian turned timid. The mine was empty, the only sounds was his occasional deep breaths that echoed and the pebbles that bounced off the walls. Each hit the obsidian took from his pickaxe made the grip vibrate. His gaze unfocussed and unreadable. He didn’t understand what drove him to agree to this.
Yes, he had an alliance with Jude, but what else was driving him to do so much for Jude?
That was something not even he could understand. This wasn’t someone he could fight with his sword, not something to strike down, not something he could manipulate…
The mine was silent again. His thoughts paused his swinging, a soft clinking noise started as he tapped the obsidian with his pickaxe mindlessly.
tap.
tap.
tap.
After an hour or two of continuous soul-crushing mining, the last block of obsidian finally breaks. Sharpness stands in the middle of the cave, his breath hitching. He finally has the amount Jude asked for.
He stares at the shimmering stacks for a moment. He should be proud, or at least relieved. Instead, he feels a sharp pull in his chest—the one that reminds him he’dprobably go bac down there and mine a thousand more if Jude asked him to with that same “adorable face.
After walking back to their Judes base—again—he was met with a content bunny waiting for him.
“Jude.” Sharpness said, his voice sharper than he anticipated. He clearly wanted to let the latter know about his discontent regarding the grueling labor hed endured over the last few hours. “I got your materials. Can I go and take a shower now?”
He asks, voice almost sounding desperate. The redstone dust was itching under his armor, and the iron grit felt like sand paper against his skin.
“hm?” Jude asked, tilting his head. He looked almost innocently at Sharpness, as if he hadn’t just sent him through hours of torture. And honestly? Looking at him, Sharpness might’ve believed him if he wasn’t the victim.
“God, you’re hopeless” Sharpness sighed, throwing the shulker with obsidian at Jude, not even waiting to see him catch it before he turned on his. He started walking toward the bathroom, slinging a fresh towel over his shoulder.
Sharpness emerged from the bathroom, steam curling from behind him. He felt ten pounds lighter without the layers of grime, he was now dressed in a simple, clean shirt. He found Jude sitting crossed legged in his room. Shulkers already tucked away.
Jude looked up, His rabbit ears twitching as they immediately flattened against his head. A clear sign he was flustered, though he was good at not making it obvious as his expression remained sharp.
“About time.” Jude huffed, crossing his arms. “you were taking so long I though you’ve drowned in the bath tub or something” he chuckled. “It would’ve been a hassle to find new bait you know.”
Sharpness rolled his eyes, moving to sit on the farther end of the bed, but Jude grabbed his wrist and pulled him closer. “Sit here. Your hairs still a mess and its bothering me just looking at it.”
Weird
“Jude I can do my- “
“Shut up and stay still!” Jude snapped, though his face was heating up. He grabbed a towel and started drying Sharpness’s hair with much more force than necessary, masking his care with aggression. “If you walk around with damp hair, you’ll get sick, and then I’ll have to do the mining. I’m not doing this for you; I’m doing it for the team”
Sharpness went quiet. He was still upset about the mining. It was a sensitive subject right now. Despite that, a small smirk lifted his lips as he felt Jude’s fingers eventually soften their movement. “The so called ‘team’ is made up of two people Sharpness went quiet. He was still upset about the mining. It was a sensitive subject right now. Despite that, a small smirk lifted his lips as he felt Jude’s fingers eventually soften their movement. “The so called ‘team’ is made up of two people, and I’m the one who put in all the work.”
Sharpness sent a glare, “you’ve barely done your end of the work. I expect something from you.” Sharpness grabbed Judes hand and took the towel from him. Their eyes narrowed at each other as they grumbled. “I’ll worry about myself, thank you.” Sharpness said harshly.
Jude raised a brow at him, his hands landed on his thighs as he stood up. Jude didn’t spare him a glance, he hesitated to move, the room feeling smaller than it is.
“Sorry, I’ll make sure to do more next time.”
Sharpness’s harsh gaze toward Jude faltered for a second, coming back just as fast as it appeared. “I trust you will…”
A beat passed between them, the warm and soft lighting of the room feeling suddenly oppressive. Looking dimmer than usual as the tension swallowed the room. Jude didn’t snap, nor yell; instead, he let out a long, devastating sigh. It was a practiced, weary sound—the kind that implied was a burden he was simply too tired of carrying. Without a word, Jude stood up. His movements were slow but deliberate as he turned his back. He left the room, closing the door with a soft, agonizing click. Plunging the room back into a cold degrading darkness, leaving sharpness with nothing but the retreating rhythmic clicks of Judes boots against the stone. A count down to the moment Sharp would really be alone.
Sharp stood paralyzed, the damp towel clutched a white-knuckled grip. He stared at the closed door, the weight of the silence pressing against his chest until he could barely breathe.
“Maybe I’ve been a bit condescending toward Jude…” he muttered under his breath, the words tasting like ash. He admitted it guiltily, his minds already spinning to find a way to apologize for a crime he wasn’t even sure he’d committed.
***
Sharpness didn’t sleep much, But the morning sun showering down the walls of the burrow made things feel a little less heavy. He was busy in the kitchen area, trying to make himself seem useful by organizing the potion ingredients.
Suddenly, a pair of weightless soft rabbit ears brushed against the back of his neck.
“still mad?” Jude teased, he sounded bright, cheerful, and completely over last nights drama—which, of course, made Sharpness feel even guiltier for still being upset.
Jude hopped onto the counter, swinging his feet like a bored kid would. He reached out and snatched an apple from Sharps hand, taking a loud, crunching bite.
“You looked so gray standing there frozen last night I almost couldn’t help but feel bad!” Jude laughed with genuine amusement. “You looked like a wet cat, it was adorable, really.”
Sharpness felt a blush creeping up his neck. Judes laugh was was infectious, and it was hard to stay mad when Jude was being this… Nice. I just didn’t want to make things worse” Sharpness mumbled, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Judes smile didn’t fade, but his words took a sharp turn. “Well, you succeeded!” He reaches out and dusted Sharps cheek with his thumb, his touch light and teasing. “See? I knew you could be a good teammate it’s a bit disappointing you have to be scolded like a toddler to get there but people have their own ways in improving.”
He hopped down from the counter, spinning around to look Sharp in the eye “since you’ve been feeling a ‘helpful’ today, I have a little game fore you.” He paused before continuing “Tai and Noob are around spawn griefing my traps. They think they are so unstoppable”
Jude tapped his chin as, if in deep thought, before settling on an answer. A wide smile spread across his face. “I’ll go and show you more of my traps if you help me kill them in exchange” he says, a tone full of confidence and persuasion. and Sharpness—easily swayed by the latter’s hook—agreed.
Sharpness flew toward the coordinates Jude sent to him. Arriving at a conspicuous doorway. a massive shield with a giant red X mark spray painted over it to symbolize Tai and Noobs duo name, ergo, The ‘Shieldless duo’
Sharp inhaled sharply closing his eyes to take everything in before exhaling slowly, a gust of warm air leaving his lungs materializing into a cloud of smoke due to the November snow. (its snowing in November, isn’t that weird?) Splashing a potion of invisibility, strength, fire resistance and swiftness on his feet intending for the 2 v 1 to be quick and easy.
Sharpness rushed in, Tai entering his vision before registering it. Slashing twice at the under-geared Tai who fell on his ass. Tai was bewildered, his eyes quickly turn back to try find Sharpness’s own, only to be met with a sword.
Tai’s face scrunched up in fear, quickly trying to turn and run, but there wasn’t enough time for that. He was there, sitting defenseless, nothing he could do to change the next possible series of events.
Taking the opening, Sharpness as he delivered a devastating finishing blow—skewering the crown of Tai’s head with his netherite sword. The blade withdrew with a wet, squelching sound. A slurry of blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and ruined tissue seeping from the fissure of the ragged cavity. Sharpness stood over the body, breathing heavily as Tai’s body slumped over with a heavy thud.
Hearing the commotion, Noob immediately rushed into the scene. He froze, his face contorting through a wave of disgust, shock and anger as he took in the sight of Tai’s lifeless body. Turning his gaze to Sharpness, Noob locked eyes with a pair of crimson irises that seemed to hold a darker, more dangerous glow now that he was paying attention. Sharpness stood there, hair slightly disheveled. The silence was shattered by Noob’s angry shout.
“Dude, what the fuck?”
Sharpness didn’t answer; he simply lunged at Noob almost robotically. Noob instinctively threw his arm to block the blow, leaving a deep gash that made him hiss in pain. Desperate to buy time to pot up and eat a gapple, Noob used a wind charge to blast Sharpness back. But Sharpness regained his momentum instantly, rushing forward with a flurry of aggressive slashes that Noob barely managed to dodge by a hair.
“Sharp! what- I didn’t even do anything to you!” Noob yelled, dodging backward.
“You griefed Judes trap.”
“Yeah, but aren’t you two mortal enemies? Why would you, out of all people care?!”
Sharpness faltered for a fraction of a second. A hint of hesitation crossed his face before he spoke, his voice sounding more like an uncertain question than an answer:
“No?”
The word barely left his lips before Sharpness swung his sword with a sudden, vicious surge of aggression. He quickly disarmed Noob before slicing cleanly through his neck. Blood spared across Sharps beautifully sculpted features, the heavy, metallic stench of iron filling the air. A miserable silence followed. A moment later, Noob and Tai’s body simultaneously dissipated into a cloud of smoke, leaving behind a scattered pile of XP and loot. Sharp silently gathered the remains, storing them away into separate shulkers to give Jude upon his arrival.
He flew back to Jude’s base. A mess of blood and dirt. Yet—Sharpness hummed with satisfaction with what he’s done.
“Juudeee! Ju- Ju Jude.!!!!”
Sharp says in a singsong voice, waving and flailing his hands around in front of the latter, enthusiastic.
The Bunny, seemingly noticing the blonde smiled—casual—his voice carrying the feeling of easiness he always carried
“hey, Sharp. Done already?”
He asked, though knowing the answer, he figured it might be best to hear it from him personally. He wouldn’t waste the others enthusiasm after doing such a good job.
“Mhm!” Sharp hummed happily, “I got Noob and Tai’s loot and strength”
the Bunny Hybrid chuckled in return, feeling weirdly fond for a reason he didn’t quite know.
“Really? Give me some.” Jude said, it sounded more like an order than a request, but whatever. It wasn’t like Sharp minded. Sharp handed a shulker box with Tai’s items over to Jude, watching his face a weirdly fond gaze, searching for any hint of emotion that maybe signaled that Jude was proud of him.
“Oh, wow. Sharp really did a good job today. I should really give him an extra reward. Maybe show him an extra trap today. Or two? Fuck it, maybe I should just send Sharp the link to every single one of my traps with a ‘thanks sharpy 😊’ message with it” Sharp narrated half-jokingly.
“Okay, Sharp you can stop it now.” Jude said aloud, interrupting Sharp before he could ask for anything more. Jude smirked, his lips quivering as he tried to hold in a laugh, eventually letting out a small breathy giggle.
“But fine…” Jude whined, finally resigning. “I guess I could show you like, 3 more traps before I show you what I’ve been working on that’s also the trap you’ve been so whiny about collecting the materials for.”
Jude walked pass Sharpness, heading up the exit of his little burrow. He glanced back as he made his way up the stairway, and Sharpness followed—completely compliant. Sharpness jogged up to Jude to match his pace, basically skipping on the way to the first traps, which Jude found guiltily endearing. Letting out a little giggle, which Sharpness notice but chose not to question.
Jude led them into wide, a grassy field—a place Sharp had only been to once or twice.
“So, where is it?” Sharp asked.
Jude just chuckled. He could practically see the naivety clinging off the pheromones Sharp was letting out.
“Right here…” Jude said as he places a pressure plate under his feet.
Unbeknownst to Sharpness, the ground gave way, and he fell through with a loud yelp.
“What the fuck? Jude!!??” Sharp let out an aggravated shout from the bottom of the pit.
Jude laughed, rushing down the ladder that led him directly to the kill chamber to break Sharp out before he actually died. All the while, Sharpness muttered under his breath, relying on his usual angry coping mechanism as he repeated the exact same five words: “if I die, I’m betraying”
When Sharp was finally broken out of said chamber, he shoved Jude with an aggressive punch to the shoulder before quickly cheering right back up. He began inspecting the kill chamber while Jude watched. Once Jude felt like enough time had passed, he decided to show off a backup trap built right in front of the primary kill chamber.
“I bet you can’t find the backup trap here” Jude said sarcastically, gesturing subtly toward the stone button that blended perfectly into the stone walls.
Sharp noticed it instantly; his tone dripped with a concerning amount of excitement and impatience. “Oh, wow that’s so sick!”
“Yeah, and you go over here—" Jude broke two blocks out of a wall to reveal another ladder leading straight down into another kill chamber.
“Oh, so you go and kill them here” Sharpness asked, peering in.
“Mhm” Jude hummed, signaling for Sharp to go back up the ladder.
He pauses on the way to the first foot of the ladder, he turns to the trap and opens his bag.
“Oh, I forgot to put the armor stands,” Jude said, his voice echoing from below as Sharpness climbed up the ladder, standing perfectly still right above the secondary trap.
Jude didn’t keep his attention on Sharpness, he didn’t need to, he trusted him.
Now, Sharpness wasn’t stupid. Why would he waste such a perfectly positioned prey?
He could feel all his built-up anger and grudges from the hours of backbreaking labor consuming him, begging to spill out through a single button press.
And that, he did.
Sharpness’s mouth lifted into a condescending smirk. His foot ‘accidentally’ nudged the stone button, letting out a soft, mocking, “Oops,” as the ground gave way beneath them.
Time seemed to stop for Jude. His eyes caught a final glimpse of Sharpness's beautiful smug face before the floor gave out completely, plunging him down into his very own kill chamber.
Jude felt pathetic. Why had he ever trusted Sharpness? Sure, he had been a dick to him, but why?
Judelow was slain by conexion.
Tai: Sharplow divorce?
Parkergamebrain: Jude?
Conexion: TRAPPER GETS TRAPPED??
