Prisoner 4052
Prisoner Code: Mimic
Security Level: Very High
Containment Measures:
4052 is to be contained in a special containment cell with a circular shape, a diameter of 7,5m (25ft) and a height of 3m (10ft). Every surface of the cell is to be coated with, from outside to inside:
- 10cm (4'') of adamantine, to ensure protection of the cell's integrity towards the outside
- 10cm (4'') of cold-iron, to defend the cell's integrity against any arcana
- 10cm (4'') of summer-resin, to protect the cell walls against heat of up to 1600°C (2912F)
All equipment installed within the cell, in addition to special sensors for each layer which measure their integrity, are to be made as resistant to heat as possible, as well as being imbued with Grade-A Arcane Protection Wards. The cell itself is to be fashioned with Grade-A Arcane Containment Wards as well, which are inscribed within the cold-iron layer, as well as Grade-A Sound Dampening Wards, which can be left inactive most of the time.
The door is to be made out of a special admantine-cold-iron alloy, treated both alchemically and magically to be highly resistant to heat and any form of damage. It lacks the typical sliders as these are considered weakpoints, and requires an external mechanism bereft of any electronical components, insteading needing the usage of an enchantment created by the Speaker of Space to be opened and only from authorized individuals. These include the Warden Overseer, the Director, and any member of the Promised Council.
The cell contains the standard arrangement, however every piece is to be placed in such a manner that 4052 cannot easily hide herself in any way, especially not from the door. The curtain for the shower and toilet is to be made translucent enough that 4052's silhouette is to always be visible. The pieces of furniture do not require to be proofed against heat.
4052 is to be provided with standard humanoid meals three times a day, which are delivered via a special chute from outside the cell. A small alcove, which its at a ninety degree angle to the left of the door, can be opened from the outside of the cell. Within is a small teleportation array that can transfer the meal to and from a special metal box without being blocked by the cell's cold-iron. Upon receiving back the empty dish, it is to be inspected for any sign of trickery or usage of magic, before being retrieved and cleaned.
4052 is not to be left outside of her cell under any circumstances and neither can her voice be allowed to reach outside of it. The make of the cell already prohibits this when closed, but before opening, the Sound Dampening Wards are to be activated until the door has been closed again. Personnel is not allowed to enter the cell unless their request to do so has been approved by the Warden Overseer or someone of higher station. Any personnel entering has to wear a Grade-A Fire Protection Suit and be equipped with special Protection Muffs for their ears, which can entirely insulate them from any sounds of the outside.
Any personnel observing 4052 from the cell's observation room is to be briefed and if necessary reminded of her capabilities. Any voices coming from within her cell are to be ignored, no matter how they sound like, unless she is actively trying to say something to personnel. If a voice belonging to another prisoner or a member of the Cell is heard, whatever it says is to be ignored while the Sound Dampening Wards are activated for ten minutes. If any personnel is within 4052's cell, their voice is only to be trusted as long as they can provide sufficient codes when talking to the observation room.
4052 is to be provided a new book or game for personal enrichment every two weeks. She is also to be given basic cleaning supplies to take care of her own cell. All of these are to be transferred the same way as her meals. It is recommended that, outside of Warden Overseer Scribe, Wardens Prism or Songstress are the primary candidates to interact, or engage 4052, as they are uniquely suited to resist and fight her.
Description:
4052 was contained in Operation 'Fallen Queen'. For further details, please refer to the according mission report file.
4052 appears as a female humanoid standing at 1,71m (5'61''), with long and distinctively blood-red hair, as well as eyes with blood-red irises. She appears to be of british descent with an accent to match. The only anomalous thing about her appearance is the blue flame, about the size of a fist, which burns in the center of her upper chest area. The flame doesn't appear to generate any noticable heat, nor does it damage any object or clothing, both at least unless 4052 wishes so. The flame also seems to pass through any clothing she puts on so that it always rests atop of her. It does not react in any way to coldness or water.
Before the Pyre Incident, 4052 was described as being "generally confused and timid", "reacting to personnel with caution", as well as "seeking personal contact" and "attempting to find common ground" with anyone that she could. It cannot be reliably stated whether all of this was just a very well-played ruse or if 4052's behavior changed drastically while within the Cell.
Nowadays, 4052 acts more oppositional towards any personnel she interacts with. While she is willing to initiate conversations, she remains confrontational if not downright hostile during them. However, based on investigations after the Pyre-Incident into the Cell's records and reports, as well as into Warden Overseer Arbitrator, it very well may be that 4052's previous behavior was not part of a grand plan. Instead, it seems likely that 4052 suffered especially under Warden Overseer Arbitrator's rather extreme ideology and treatment of the prisoners. To the point that she developed a special distaste for the Wardens as a whole, and being lead to start the Pyre Incident. However, there hasn't been enough evidence yet to make an official statement, which Warden Overseer Scribe is currently still attempting to accomplish.
Abilities and Counters:
4052's physical capabilities equal that of a well-trained humanoid, meaning that without weapons or equipment she should not be able to break out of her cell. It is of note that 4052 has displayed an especially high proficiency with bladed weapons, preferring the greatsword.
The blue flame on 4052's chest is the main source of her danger. While harmless in its 'dormant' state, it is as far as can be ascertained, entirely under 4052's control. When she wants to, the flame can grow in size and heat, up to engulfing her entire body while reaching up to 1600°C (2912F). The flame is also magical in nature, never harming 4052 who is capable of directing it in any manner that she wishes, which includes precision strikes or bathing the entire area around her in her flames. This seems to take considerable effort on her part, however, from what little could be gleaned, 4052 can utilize the flame for a considerable period of time. It has so far proven to be very dangerous and melt material not capable of withstanding its heat in record time, or be concentrated into shaped blasts that can cut like a blade. 4052 can also coat objects she wields in the flame as some form of weapon enhancement. Magical Suppression Methods seem capable of reducing, but not outright disabling her fire.
As can be gleaned from previous reports, before the Pyre-Incident, 4052's flame never exhibited the severity that it can now. It appears to be the case that she hasn't possessed it before Operation 'Fallen Queen'. While it is likely that it took time before 4052 reached the level of proficiency displayed during the Pyre-Incident, there are no records of her practising it. Some theories bring up the idea that 4052's flame is heavily dependent on her emotional state, being amplified by extreme emotions such as anger. This would fall in line with other theories, and evidence of 4052's mistreatment by Warden Overseer Arbitrator.
4052 is also capable of voice mimicry. She can change and twist her voice to a very wide degree, imitating anyone she has heard speaken for enough time, how long that is is currently unknown. This is not a magical ability, as 4052 has done this flawlessly while under Grade-A Magical Suppression Methods, giving Warden Bedrock nearly a heart attack as she spoke to her with her own voice. 4052 seems to mainly do this either out of boredom or to mess with people, however this is most likely the case because she hasn't had the chance to utilize this ability offensively yet. The prospect that she could do that still persists however, necessatating measures against it.
Because of her voice mimicry, the Sound Dampening Wards have been installed, to be activated whenever the door to 4052's cell is opened so that she may not try to trick any Wardens. Personnel observing her are warned of her ability and are to not trust anything 4052 says. The special make of her cell is so that it can always be confirmed where 4052 is, that she is the one talking, and that no other individual is within the cell. Visitors to 4052 shall only be listened to by outside personnel if they are using the suit's internal comms to communicate, and even then only if they utilize proper codes while talking.
Emergency Measures:
If 4052 were to breach containment again, the entire level is to be immediately put on lockdown. All personnel is to immediately evacuate the level, while a distress signal is to be immediately send out towards both the Director as well as the Adjudicator-General. A response team against 4052 is to be immediately put together, made up out of specifically chosen Wardens and equipped with the specialized items of Storage-4052. They are then to formulate a plan of attack against 4052, to recontain her as fast as possible.
Special Containment Unit Advent is at the top of the list as a response team against 4052. This is because of the fact that almost all members, with the exception of Warden Overseer Scribe who should not approach 4052 anyway, are at least partially resistant to fire. It case of a containment breach, Warden Overseer Scribe is to grant as many enhancements to her unit members before retreating to a safe distance, while the rest engages 4052. The tactic is to try and keep 4052 pinned in place with Wardens Prism and Songstress, while Wardens Bark and Bite attempt to flank and bring 4052 down. Should the fight take too long however, then eventually all Wardens except Prism will need to retreat. This will be the last option to recontain 4052 before relying on outside forces.
If the response team is unable to recontain 4052, they are to withdraw from the level when possible, and all exits are to be sealed. The Wardens are to await the arrival of either the Director or the Adjudicator-General, who will make their own attempt to recontain 4052. In extreme cases, including 4052 releasing every other prisoner on the level, please consult the file labeled 'Cell Extreme Emergency Measures'.
Reports:
All report files previous to the Pyre Incident can be reviewed after the specific request has been approved by Warden Overseer Scribe. They have been reviewed and given personal remarks by her.
Incident-4052-PYRE
It is unclear as of yet how the Pyre Incident was being planned between 4052 and 6022, yet it is very likely that they were somehow able to. This is evidenced by the fact that 6022 was heading straight towards 4052, as if knowing where the latter was located, and that they interacted in a very familiar way with each other. However, as far as we know, 6022 was contained shortly after waking up from a very long shutdown and could not physically have known 4052.
Regardless of that, at 09:13 on the XX.XX.XXXX, 6022 was able to breach containment and to make her way directly towards 4052, where she facilitated the latter's release. Both then immediately headed towards the Warden Barracks, with 6022 eventually staying behind to prevent incoming Wardens from stopping them.
4052 entered the Barracks with a mithral arming sword taken from Warden Silver, who had been knocked unconscious with only light injuries by 6022. 4052 was only opposed by Warden Hammer, who failed to stop her, but survived with severe injuries. 4052 headed directly towards the Warden Overseer's office. There, she confronted Warden Overseer Arbitrator. Since the office lacked any sort of recording equipment, their conversation is unknown, especially since 4052 has so far been unwilling to recount it.
During the ensuing fight, 4052 was able to kill Warden Overseer Arbitrator. Medical examination proves that she drove her sword into his heart, before using her flame to burn him alive. Afterwards, she began to head back towards the prison levels, destroying the Warden Barracks on the way by letting her flame go wild. At the prison levels, 4052 seemed to try and find 6022 again, releasing other prisoners on the way. Analysis of the event brought up the interesting detail that 4052 only seemed to release certain prisoners while letting others stay in their cells (such as 3100, 2981, and 5011). There are multiple theories, however with 4052 being unwilling to talk, they will be hard to confirm.
4052 was eventually defeated and recontained by the arrival of the Adjudicator-General, who was able to smother her flames via powerful arcane means and then beat 4052 in a short sword fight. She later noted that 4052 appeared to be very willing to submit defeat, giving only a few biting remarks and indicating she would rather be killed than recontained. In the days following the incident, 4052 was put on active suicide-watch, though she never made an attempt.
4052 has so far expressed no remorse over her actions, nor has she been willing to talk about it with anyone. For more details, please request the full Pyre-Incident report.
Interview-4052-1 (Since 4052's file has been rewritten, incidents and interviews begin with a new numeration. The old ones are marked accordingly)
[This interview occurred about twenty weeks after the Pyre-Incident. The Adjudicator-General was visiting the Cell and, after learning of 4052 current situation, asked to speak with her. Surprisingly, 4052 agreed. The interview took place within 4052's cell on the XX.XX.XXXX, from 12.48 until 14.03. The Adjudicator-General, who will be henceforth (and by her own choice) be referred to by name, was briefed on 4052's file, yet had still refused wearing the suit as she saw no need in it. She entered with all of her typical equipment and an additional comlink to the observation room where Warden Overseer Scribe and Warden Prism were, alongside other required personnel (for a full list, please review the interview file).]
La+ [after entering the room and the Sound Dampening Wards having been deactivated]: You look somewhat better than last time.
4052: You're not wearing their stupid suit, I see.
La+: It does look ugly, but well, that is protective gear for you. Very functional, aesthetics just can't be considered. Can I sit?
4052: Can I stop you?
La+: Yes. By saying 'no'.
4052 [seems be thrown off a bit]: Yeah, I suppose.
La+: Wonderful, been walking around all day. Large place, the Cell, but I'm sure you know that.
[There is a moment of silence]
La+: So, how have they been treating you?
4052: Why are you interested in my well-being?
La+: Why shouldn't I?
4052: Because I am a prisoner of this place, never to be allowed to leave ever again. And I killed the previous boss of this place, had my hand in the death of a couple while even more were injured.
La+: Yeah, five Wardens dead, which includes the 'boss'. Eleven more were wounded in various ways. While twelve prisoners died and about five times of that needed to be treated medically. Some only made it by the skin of their teeth. [Pause] Pretty impressive honestly, did you know they bumped up your Security Level by two steps? Medium to Very High.
4052: Am I supposed to be proud?
La+: Are you?
[They stare at each other for a minute]
La+: We need to stop answering questions with questions. Anyhow, I do hope they have been treating you at least a little bit nicer.
4052: I am stuck in this cell while knowing that they can see me all the time, including when i shower. Hard to feel good like that.
La+: Yeah, I can understand that. [scratches her nose] You might be happy to learn though that some of the other prisoners are getting better treatments. From what I know, a few of them might actually get their status reconsidered.
4052 [seems surprised]: What do you mean with that?
La+: Warden Overseer Scribe has been digging through pretty much all she can get her hands on since her arrival. And she has also been in much closer contact with the higher ups, constantly pestering to look at this or to authorize that. Especially when she found out what her predecessor was doing.
[4052 stays quiet but seems very tense]
La+: To answer the question I can see you wanting to ask, yes, I read them too. Rest assured that will not happen to anybody else here. She is serious about turning the Cell into a better place.
4052: Better than a prison?
La+: A prison for people who deserve it. I can imagine that in some part, you agree with that sentiment.
4052: Yeah? On what grounds.
La+: Prisoner 1379.
[4052 looks away and says nothing]
La+: Yeah. Strange how he got basically cooked in his cell while everyone around him was utterly fine. Almost like someone wanted him gone speficially. Nobody is gonna complain about it, I just wonder how you got access to his file.
4052: So, all of us murderers and other criminals will still stay here?
La+ [leans forward]: You will be treated as people. There won't be any other strange tests and immoral experiments, just to see what you can do or how far you can be pushed. Scribe is facing opposition, but believe me, she is fighting for it. And submitting essays, reports, and results that are getting increasingly hard to argue against. She is starting with those who have been brought here because of no fault of their own, just because they are capable of things considered dangerous. There are a number of promising ones that, if we can assure they are able to control or otherwise neutralize their danger, they might be able to be integrated back into society. Some could even find employment with us. 5011 for example.
[4052 noticably reacts]
La+: I really want to know how you learned about the others. But hey, you don't need to tell me everything. Not today, at least. I might visit you again in the future. You are a very interesting woman.
4052 [looking away, face is starting to redden]: N-not that I can stop you.
La+: You can always tell me to not come back. I will listen. And hey, maybe one day you will be able to leave. Good behavior and all that.

Remark of the Adjucator-General:
I find it incredibly worriesome that it took this long for information about the state of affairs within the Cell. And that it took two prisoners somehow breaking out and going on a violence spree, where they killed those they (somehow) knew were horrible people. While I understand the arguments for why the Promised Council, or other entities were not involved too closely with the Cell before, what we are still actively finding out is showing that more oversight would have been necessary. The amount of damage done by the previous Warden Overseers is immense.
4052 is a perfect example of this. I wish I could have met her before the entire thing, because now she is a hurt and angry woman, who closes herself off to protect herself. Though, having read the file for Operation 'Fallen Queen' part of that might have been there before. At the very least, we could have helped her instead of throwing her to the mercy of a wolf, but that goes for many prisoners.
The amount of pushback of people who do not wish the Cell to change is getting annoyingly, frankly. My own voice is not going to amount for much, as this is not my jurisdiction. However, I am going to keep in contact with Scribe and not just in case they need me to come back and bust someone's knee. If 4052 seems to be willing to talk to me, I don't mind making more frequent visits.
Next time I will bring my time, they might provide their own theories.
