Vox began to descend the hill and soon enough he was at the foot of the hill and began to walk towards the city. Soon enough he stumbled upon a sign that was adorned with flowers and gave off an eerily welcoming vibe. Vox began to memorize what the sign said in heart as he repeated the words on the sign spelling EXIT. After memorizing the sign, he went ahead into the area that was beyond the sign.
Wandering around the town, he felt a hint of nostalgia entrench into his mind.The children that were running around and playing, chit-chats happening around, bakers selling their products;it all felt similar to New Orleans in the 1930’s…back when his parents were still alive. As he continued to stroll through the town,he noticed that all the different foods looked a lot like bloody organs and body parts. A feeling of horror seeped into the back of his mind but he brushed it off as just him being paranoid;he was proven wrong very soon after as he witnessed some people munching on the dead corpse of another person.
Bones cracked due to pressure of being grinded on with the teeth, Intestines spilled out and were slurped up like spaghetti:ribs being taken apart as if it were nothing but a simple Christmas gift being opened by an excited child and alongside that so much gore was flying everywhere. Vox felt horrified at the sight and felt disturbed because even if he i-was a cult leader he wasn’t this brutal.
Vox couldn’t take it anymore and puked due to what he had just witnessed,But some of the gore from the corpse had gotten onto his suit which was going to cause him a bit of trouble soon. Vox turned his neck around and realized that now He was attracting some of the cannibals,not in a romance or lustful but more of a hungry way which made Vox’s screen glitch a bit as he realized what it was time to do……
“Why did I think this was a good idea!”Vox thought to himself while he ran as fast as his legs could allow him to from the cannibals, just barely able to save himself due to how he almost slipped onto the ground when he had made the realization. While on the run upon spotting an empty building,his fight and flight instincts kicked in and he made a dash for it,rushing into the building just barely able to make it inside.Once inside he barricaded all the entrances to prevent the cannibals from entering inside.
He sighed in relief once he heard all scratching and banging on the door come to a halt. He didn’t want to take a chance so he stayed by the door in case some other plan was being made. For a while he believed that only he was inside the building until. Suddenly. A light flashed and alongside the light appearing, a voice came out as well.
“My. My. What do we have here”?
Vox immediately jerked his head and saw where the voice was coming from and spotted a cannibal in a reddish victorian era attire with a hat to prove so. He quickly began to move back in fear and started to put on a defensive position all the while the lady stared at him in contempt.
“Back off. Im-Im-warning you”.
Vox on the outside looked terrifying but on the inside he was terrified and it seems that even the cannibal lady knew this as she just continued to look contempt at him while also looking amused.Vox wasn’t sure if she was looking at him in contempt or amusement if he was to be honest but it didn’t really matter matter as he believed that if he let his guard down he would be dead-meat literally.
Suddenly a set of chairs appeared and Vox was promptly adjusted into one of them. Vox’s screen began to depict a confused expression which represented his own confusion at the event that was occurring. The cannibal then summoned some tea and sweets out of thin air and placed them onto the table.
“Would you like some tea or anything to eat?", the lady asked while she paused while drinking her tea too, to which Vox responded no, causing her to do an amused hm and continued sipping on her tea. Silence filled the room as the two just stared at each other:Vox at the lady in a serious way,keeping his guard while the lady looked at him in amusement while sipping on her tea until...
"So what is this a way to make me put my guard down so you can eat me hm?",Vox exclaimed deadpanningly expecting the lady to lie in case he actually called her out only to be met with laughing instead. She laughed a bit apologizing in between them and explained that if she was going to eat him she would have simply done it moments ago and that he is only alive because in her words,"I am intrigued by how rather than cowering in fear of an overload you seem to be more willing to fight back and break into their belongings”.
“Overlords? what are they?”,Vox asked in genuine curiosity making the lady smirk as she began to explain what an overlord is and revealed that the place was her emporium and that she is not only an overlord but also the mayor of the town Vox ended up in. Vox, shocked at all of this questions, how come none of this caused the cops to be involved while the lady’s eyes widened in realization that he doesn’t know the truth.
“Uh you’re in hell I thought it was clear from the get go but you probably missed a sign in saying so which isn’t your fault because it seems that every time a new person joins the Pride ring they miss the sign”.
“Vox’s minds shattered as everything started to become blurry. Of course he is dead, a TV literally crushed his head God knows how many hours ago.How could he be so stupi-.
“Sorry if the news overwhelmed you.Although now that you know would you like good old Rosie to assist you in learning about the rest of hell as this is your life now or do you want to rest a bit.”
“Vox snapped back to reality and looked at the lady he now knew was named Rosie. The way she spoke and how she comforted him it felt as if he finally had something he did not quite have for a long time…a friend. Then Vox took a sweet and thanked Rosie for her comfort. Rosie accepted the gesture and froze in excitement when the doorbell rang.Quickly she ran which made Vox curious at what was going on so he got up and decided to check as well only to see Rosie talking was slightly shorter than her Sinner.
Oh Right! I forgot something", then Rosie turned to her neck to ask for Vox ‘s name and after learning his name she moved aside to the guest in the side.
"Vox I want you to meet one of my Overlord friends-Alastor meet Vox".
