Chapter Text

The city of Jericho held a deep history that she knew before she ever even arrived. The incidents and mysteries hovering over this small town had been widespread conversation for the better half of almost 2 decades, starting back to one disturbed woman by the name of Marilyn Thorhill..Or now known to be Laurel Gates, who had hatched up a scheme so vile and dangerous, it couldn’t help but trickle into national news.

However, the others involved in her scheme hadn’t been as publicized and it took some serious digging to fully understand what had happened in Jericho all those years ago.

It was only after she decided to visit the city of Jericho where she learned the full schematics of what had occurred, which lead her to Tyler Galpin.

The towns famous baker that everyone either loved or hated, there was no in between as far as she could tell.

At first she had watched him from afar, hesitant to approach him not quite sure of where he stood with his past and just how much of it he was willing to remember.

But when she finally got the permit to open up her boutique and it just so happened to be right across the street from Mr. Galpin himself..

Well let’s just say Marcellina believed in fate.

You see Marcy knew at a very young age what she wanted to be growing up in a house full of over achievers and models the bar was always set high for her.

Maybe a bit too high.

But she managed.

She knew she loved fashion, but she also loved the news, staying informed on the various happenings of others, instead of just what was happening in her own world served as a great distraction as well as a reminder that the world was much bigger than just her and her family, no matter what she had been told throughout the years.

So being the over achiever she was all but born and raised to be, she decided to do both.

And that’s how Marcellina Bell finds herself as the owner of a boutique and a investigative journalist for the local Jericho news while also currently working on a book to help people better understand outcasts.

The days were grueling and she had barely taken one sip of her coffee before the shops bell rang indicating she had a customer.

Marcy quickly put that million dollar smile her mother had taught her forever ago and in her best customer service voice greeted her customers.

“Welcome to Marcy Bell’s Mystique’s Fashion, what can I help you two ladies find today?” She says greeting a blonde woman and what appeared to be a young teenage girl.

The blonde returned her award winning smile and quickly pushed the girl in front of her.

“Oh my dear niece here is looking for a dress for her homecoming, preferably something black or white that screams old hollywood.” Enid says as the young girl nods in excitement.

“Uh yeah we should have something, let me direct you to some dresses over here.” Marcy says ushering them over to some dresses that she thought fit the vibe they were looking for.

-

Marcy had given them a entire rack of dresses that the young girl was currently trying on in the fitting rooms and Marcy thought this was a perfect time to hopefully get more coffee in her before she literally face planted on the floor. Her hours this week had been particularly grueling, she was in charge of gathering as much intel on the upcoming gala, interviewing Tyler to add to her book, and then finally running her shop, she was so exhausted at this point, but she told herself it would all be worth it in the end.

What she was trying to accomplish was bigger than her, she had a goal in mind, she just had to remember who she was doing this all for.

She was snapped out of her thoughts by the perky blonde woman who seemed to run on nothing but caffeine and positivity.

“Oh!” Marcy said startled at her sudden presence.

“Hi, sorry to interrupt, I just wanted to thank you for helping my niece find a dress, you know kids these days need the perfect outfit for these dances.” She says smiling.

“Oh uh yes, I’m glad I could help.” Marcy returns the smile.

“So..you’re pretty new to town huh?” The woman asks.

“Uh yeah I haven’t been here too long..I was searching for a nice town to open up a boutique, and this town seemed perfect.” Marcy explains.

“Right, right, you also frequent Mr. Galpin’s meetings a lot as well I heard, You know small town, gossip travels quite fast unfortunately.” She says almost apologetically.

Marcy eyes widen, “Uh yeah I do, I’m also a writer and I'm currently writing a book and Mr. Galpin has opened himself up for some questions.” She explains eyeing the blonde suspiciously a bit.

“Oh, wow that’s awesome, you see me and Tyler actually go wayy back, and uhg he just doesn’t tell me anything these days, but I saw him the other day and he referred your shop to me, and spoke so highly of you, which is something I haven’t see him do about a woman in such a long time.” She goes on.

Marcy eyes widen a bit at this, “Oh he referred me?”

“Oh yes! He was adamant about how wonderful you were so I thought I had to meet you in person and see for myself who has piqued Tyler Galpin’s interest.” She gently laughs hitting her playfully on the shoulder.

Marcy finds herself sheepishly blushing a bit, “Oh well, me and Mr. Galpin’s relationship is strictly professional I assure you.”

“Oh what a bummer, I was under the impression from him that he was kind of disappointed he would be working at the gala so much that he wouldn’t be able to really get a chance to talk with you, you know outside of the whole interviewing thingy you guys have going on.” She almost whispers.

Marcy blinks in surprise at this sudden information she was getting, from the short time Mr. Galpin and her had met up to discuss his past experiences as well as being a rare type of outcast, never did she get the impression that he might be interested in her. I mean Marcy wasn’t a blind woman, Mr. Galpin was a very handsome man, many women often came by his bakery in the mornings just to see that incredibly bright smile that could probably raise a woman’s heart rate faster than any caffeinated beverage he had on his menu.

But she was under the impression that he was kind of a recluse, no one said anything about him having a family or a girlfriend, and neither did he all the meetings they’ve had, he’s managed to keep his present personal life just that, personal.

As for Marcy herself..relationships weren’t the number one priority on her mind, even though her sisters had urged her even more throughout the years.

“Well actually I will be at the gala, I also work as a investigative journalist so I will be doing some mingling and gathering some scoops on what the new mayors agenda is.” Marcy admits chewing her lip a bit thoughtfully.

“Oh..That’s great maybe you two could save a dance for each other? I mean I'm sure he would love it.” She beams.

“Uh-I- Okay maybe..” Marcy finds herself stuttering.

“Great! You two have fun!” The blonde says quickly shuffling off to find her niece leaving Marcy pondering what the heck had just happened?

-

Wednesday shoots awake her heart beating a mile a minute as she takes in her current surroundings only to find she’s not in her bed, but she’s back in the last place she wanted to be.

“Ms. Addams, Welcome back.”

“I have no new information at the moment, I’m working on it.” She says cuttin through all the false pleasantries.

The man in the judge’s chair fixes his glasses and straightens his posture, “That’s the problem Ms. Addams, I’ve given you how much time to figure this out?”

Wednesday frowns, “There’s a gala this week, I think whoever is behind this will also be attending, I’ll catch him there.” She assures.

The booming of his gavel suddenly strikes the room, and with every thud, the courtroom seems to shrink further and further until the space between them is only a arms length between.

“It seems you don’t understand that I am the one who does the negotiations Ms. Addams.” His voice thin as ice.

She freezes.

“A black dove is no laughing matter Ms. Addams, I thought you knew this, the power this girl wields could be consequential to the very fate of the outcasts as well as world as we know it, we don’t have time for you to be playing Sherlock Holmes!” He hisses bluntly.

“I am not playing she is my daughter-”

“She is your daughter now, but if you don’t figure this out soon, I will be forced to take her from you, do I make myself clear?”

Silence.

“DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?” His voice booms along with his gavel and Wednesday immediately stiffens and nods.

He eyes her coldly before striking the gavel again only this time Wednesday finds herself back in her bedroom drenched in a cold sweat and a slew of empty wine bottles surrounding her.

She groans feeling her head pounding as she wasn’t sure if it was from the vision or alcohol.

She looks at the crumpled notes next to her and laughs in disgusts as she can only hope that this gala gave her some much needed answers and fast.

Notes:

Anyway thanks for reading let me know what you think in the comments below.

Notes:

Hey guys so I actually had this idea for a story for a long time, just never got around to writing out a chapter, This is really the first story i’m actually really considering investing my time and energy into, because I love this plot so much. I’m not saying I won’t ever update the other stories i’ve started, but I find myself lacking the inspiration to continue those at the moment.

Anyway let me know if this is a story I should continue or not.

If you haven’t noticed this story is also kind of inspired by Wizards Beyond Waverly Place with Alex Russo having a daughter now. So yeah I definitely took some inspo from that.
