Chapter Text
The pain attacked him internally,
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry Theo..
I'm sorry for not expressing how i cared about you.
I'm sorry for so being selfish.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Forgive me.
.
.
.
.
.
Saparata stood up from his seat with a blank expression.
"Guards, throw him in the cells."
...
Parrot stared fixedly at the table, his eyes wet but empty. The guard nudged him toward the dark cell, and Parrot went willingly. There was nothing left to fight for. He had broken himself, and in the process, he had broken the kingdom he fought hard for.
As he was dragged toward the cell where he would stay until he rotted, a flash of blonde hair caught his eye. Someone stood in the hallway, staring at him with pity written all over his face.
Parrot stared him. Theo looked back, but the guilt was too heavy, he hesitantly turned his head.
The warmth wasn't entirely gone. A dim light still lived inside Theo, born from the very fire Parrot had sparked within him
The cockatiel hybrid turned his back, and just like that,
the final ember of light distinguished.
And then,
His world went quiet.
That was it.
He was alone.
There was no one left to rescue him, no one to brighten his day, and no one to ever make him smile again.
For years, Theo caught every single dagger thrown at Parrot, sacrificing his own flesh to keep Parrot untouched.
He would have torn the world apart to save him.
But the hands that once bandaged Parrot’s wounds were the very same hands that twisted the blade in his back, leaving him to bleed out in the dark.
Parrot didn't even noticed that he was inside the cell.. with four guards watching him.
That wasn't until he heard a soft, trembling sob that he noticed Reina. She was curled up in the corner, shaking and small. She looked like a traumatized child, stripped of all safety. She never asked for the politics, the wars, or the heartbreak. She was just an ordinary player who wanted to play with her bestfriend.
Parrot was the monster who had dragged her into this living hell.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Of course it was his fault. It had always been his fault, right from the very start.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Parrot sat on the floor, his back pressed on the cold wall..
Maybe banning himself was the only way out.
Maybe ending the game entirely was the answer. Theo wasn't coming to intercept the blades anymore. He was completely unprotected against the weight of his own failures.
Parrot knew from the start that he was just a
Pathetic little coward.
A crybaby.
Tears falls down his eyes, he didn't care, anyone in his situation will do the same.
His walls crumbled to dust right along with his tears. He could have faced this prison if he wasn't alone. He would have been fine, if only the person he cherished most hadn't driven the blade into his back.
This was too much for him to handle, too much pressure, too overwhelming.
A single word from Theo would have calmed his racing heart. Instead, he was met with nothing but an empty space where his protector used to stand.
Wiping his tears away, Parrot tried to steady his ragged breathing, but failed. Reina was still curled up, shaking from head to toe.
The sheer weight of his regret crushed him. This innocent player was suffering because of his wrong doings.
"...Reina, I'm sorry." Parrot whispers, loud enough for Reina to hear.
"... It's alright."
"Alright? I'm the one who dragged you down here, I was the one who made us fight! What do you mean by It's alright?!..."
"Parrot.. I wanted to do this and I was determined to get revenge for Zoe, I never expected this but it was my own decision to fight."
Parrot let out a dry, forced chuckle that tasted bitter.
"You wanted revenge because your friend died, right? But she’s gone because I walked away. I left you guys behind and let Skymore fall. It’s my fault, Reina. I did this to us."
...
Silence followed.
Night fell quickly, but the guards didn't leave even for a second.. But who actually cares?.
He was gonna rot here until he gets banned.
The escape plan he had thought of was swept away, it was no use.
'There was no reason to even fight back for the throne when I already ruined the server. It's best if I stay here for internity. '
Lettuce was right.
The server is way too far gone to fix.
This is what Unstable is supposed to be.
Full of chaos, messy, cruel and unstable.
Parrot yawned, tiredness and sleepiness slowly taking over his body.
The day was finally over, he is hungry but whatever.. no one will care anymore.
Parrot woke up in a comfortable warm bed..
Wait huh?
. . . .
It was all..
a dream?
Parrot sat up to see a sight of Theo sitting on the couch munching on some blueberries..
Theos eyes finally landed on Parrot,
"Good morning Parrot!, Are you hungry? Here take some strawberries!" Theo offered the bowl of blueberries..
Everything felt normal.. the warmth of the room was comfortable although something was off, Parrot pushed those thoughts aside. He stood up running to Theo then he pulled Theo in a hug, Parrot's grip on Theo was so tight as if Theo might disappear if he didn't hold him.
"Theo I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, forgive me please.." Said Parrot, burying his head on the crook of theos neck. He will never pull away.
Never.
"Hey man.. don't worry!, I forgive you.."
Parrot was so glad to hear that, he was so happy to hear that.. he was happy to hear that Theo forga...—
He paused.
Something wasn't adding up.
How did Theo knew what I had done.. when i never said anything about what i did.
.
.
.
"Parrot. I will never forgive you."
What..?
No..
"You are way too delusional to think that this is real."
No no NO!..
"Wake up."
This—! Tell me this isn't a dream!
"WAKE UP."
This is not a dream— no.. there is no way. THEO PLEASE!
"I will never forgive you."
Give me a second chance— Please! I'll be better.. I-I I promise!
"I will never trust you again."
THEO WAIT—!
Parrot sat up so quickly that it made his head hurt,
'No.. I—I was.. I didn't want that dream to end'
The warmth in that dream instantly vanished as soon as he woke up, the temperature dropped dramatically. The once warm and comfortable feeling turned into a cold and an uncomfortable feeling.
Parrot hated it.
He wanted Theos warmth
Theos kindness.
But all of that was only accessible only in his head, it will always stay like that forever.
His eyes glanced at Reina, who was staring at the filthy ceiling...
"Wake up, Parrot you're coming with me." Reina and him turned towards where the voice came from, General Arachnid stood outside the locked bars.
"What?.. What now." He mumbled groggily..
"Just stand up and obey us."
Parrot with no choice obeyed, standing up before turning his head to the side to look at Reina.. Then followed Arachnid with 2 guards trailing behind.
As they reached outside.. Parrot expected it to be the same, but no— Everything was a mess, broken buildings, griefed bases, large tnt holes..
'All of this in just one day?..'
Unbelievable.
The places he had worked hard to fix was destroyed to the ground, as they walked towards... Spawn?
Why spawn? why were they taking him there..?
As they come closer to their destination, tons of death messages appeared..
Parrot felt sick to his stomach seeing all the people banned after just joining.
The names on the death messages going off every 4 minutes or so made him feel a sense of guilt lingering inside him.. He was no longer in control.
The sight of this made the king sick..
This can't happen..
This.. this won't..
Many people are dying.
Why did he gave up so easily?
Why did he let himself loose?
why didn't he fight back?
Why did he threw his kingdom away that he fought hard for, that easily?.
Why's and questions filled his head..
Even though he knew the answer to his questions.
'because i am a coward.'
'Because I am weak, pathetic, and dependent'
.
'I'm background character—even in my own life-'
.
.
.
Enough.
.
.
Be cruel for once, be selfish for once. Punish those who see you as just a pawn..
.
.
But does that mean I have to kill...? I don't approve of using any type violence to solve my proble-.
.
.
So you are choosing silence and letting them continue slaughtering your citizens?
.
.
You are actively cruel as them if you think that way, follow my voice if you wish for them to stop.
You have no choice here other than killing those who are deemed not worthy of living here in this server.
.
.
...Okay
Killing a thousand of people and taking away their chance to explore, make friends, and live is not acceptable.
.
.
Are you going to let the slander resume?.
.
.
'I'll try.. won't let this happen, I promise.'
'I have nothing left to loose.'
'..From now on, I'll finally stop running, I'll start fighting.'
.
.
Giving up isn't an option in this situation.
.
.
Giving up means being weak.
.
.
I know how tired you are, Parrot. I know you are so tired of loosing friends every single time. Maybe Shoebilly was right
Having friends makes you weak.
A voice inside him finally spoke up as of it was stuck and thrown away in the back of his head, the voice finally spoke up. The voice he hated finally came back.
Although...
He always used to hate that voice in his ears telling him to be cruel, but right now?.. He was greatful to hear that part of him speaking up.
Those voices in his own head
The determination in his head wouldn't go way.. If it means saving the server. The he will.
his can't happen forever, this can't continue.
The sight of the people dying, his kingdom falling, him getting imprisoned, his best friend leaving him, his friends betraying him, sparked the light of hope and determination.
The server is too far gone, the server is filled with evil.
He knows that—but that doesn't mean kindness doesn't exist anymore.
This can't keep happening. Him always loosing in the end—this can't always be the ending.
Parrot is determined to change his fate.
And he is doing this...
Alone.
He won't need a friend—no. He was doing this all alone, he doesnt need a friend because in the end, they either leave or perish.
He was going to change that. Deep inside he knew he was a curse, everyone he talked with will eventually die, he will do this alone even if it meant challenging death.
"Parrot, do you see your kingdom now? All fallen. All griefed." Arachnid spoke first, breaking Parrots thoughts.
"And what am i going to do with that?" He snapped back.
"The crown is all yours, I don't want to lead a server thats already too far gone"
Parrot added, it was true, he didn't want to lead anymore. All he wanted to do is save innocent peoples who are worthy enough to play on this server.
the loud screams of the new players and their pleas sickens him.
It was cruel.
And that sparked the determination inside Parrot even more.
"That's it?, you're just giving up?"
"Yeah, I'm done trying in the end I'll always loose" A lie.
"Well that was easier than i thought"
. . .
"...Did you really just drag me here just to make me look at spawn?."
"Ah, no, I just wanted you to see what happend to your kingdom, we still have somewhere to go."
They dragged Parrot to the Nothern council,
What were they doing here..?
Parrot didn't want to be here, not after all of this.
The guards behind him forcefully pulled him inside the castle that was once built just for him,Theo, and his commanders, but now? He didn't want to be there anymore.
They led the Parrot hybrid to the large room full of bookshelfs and a rounded table in the middle.
Saparata sat where he used to be.
The seat he always sat in.. The throne he didn't deserve.
.
.
'Push those thoughts aside, Parrot. Focus on avenging everyone.'
.
.
That voice.. right... For now, that was his guide, he wasn't going to listen to anyone anymore.
He is going to listen to himself starting now.
He doesn't need a friend who's always guiding him, scolding him, protecting him.
From now on, he was going to depend on no one but his self,
his own voice.
He'll make the decisions himself.
.
.
'Be cruel, be cold, that is a form of intimidation.'
.
.
I I'll try, I won't make the same mistake thrice.
.
.
'Let them fear you.'
.
.
They should fear me..
.
'No one had ever feared you, Parrot, that is the reason why they looked down upon you.'
.
.
...Ungrateful people.
.
.
'Filthy peasants like that does not deserve any form of kindness.'
.
.
One whom can't respect, doesn't deserve respect.
.
.
Parrot finalized his decisions, he was indeed not going to give up.
He needs to be unexpected, his moves were predictable.
He needed to be unpredictable.
But how?
An image of a person flashed inside his head, the one who he had tried to forget.
Wifies.
He recalled the words that his old friend said.
.
.
.
.
.
"Everyone has something they care about, and if you can control that, you can control the person."
.
.
.
.
.
Parrot would use that advice he swore he'd never use.
Cruel—true, but cruelty is what the server needs in able to survive.
He needed to figure out what they care about the most, then use that to take advantage.
Parrot has to think smart, he needed to act like it. One wrong move and he is done for. It was for the best, it was for revenge, it was for the innocent players.
Tens of thousands of people dying within second in joining, not even getting the chance to explore the server.
This can't continue, someone needs to stop them.
If no one will, he himself will.
Alone
A cough broke the silence, his eyes look towards the person who sat on his throne.
Behind Saparata stood Wemmbu,Flamefrags, then Yungyx.
"Do you know why you are here?" Saps started, Parrot didn't quite understand why did they drag him here?..
"No?"
"Huh, what did I expect.. I and Arachnid orders you to be sent in a more secure and more guarded prison, we know you're intelligent, Parrot."
"What about Reina?"
"She'll stay behind. You are the only threat here due to your intelligence."
"...Just keep her safe. If i hear one news about you hurting my friend, I will end each and everyone of you."
That made Saparata cackle
"Oh so scary!.. What could a single player with no armor do?"
"Hurt her and you'll see. Don't even think about killing my only friend." Said Parrot with a tone of danger in his voice.
Saying that Reina was his only friend felt weird and empty.. It's like something was missing. It felt hollow as if someone took a special part of him.
"I didn't know you were this hilarious. Theo, lead this jester to his new cell"
Theo was here?.. Where..?
He looked around and an armor clacking and walking towards him made him turn around to see the one he didn't want to see. Theo..
The light on Theos eyes that was once always visible was replaced by a dark, hollow eyes. There wasn't any light on Theo anymore. Just pure.. darkness.
Parrot got so lost that he didn't realize that he was already getting dragged outside, there was a happy ghast that was parked infront of the massive castle.
That wasn't there when Parrot arrived.
"Sit on the happy ghast." Theo ordered, his voice didn't have the soothing and comforting tone anymore. It was straight and cold.
'Oh my Theo... what did they do to you?'
Parrot obeyed and sat on the happy ghast, 2 more guards followed incase Parrot tried to flee.
Traveling to this prison took forever,
riding a happy ghast a thousand blocks away from Reina's coordinates. It was for the best; he refused to drag her into his problems any longer. But as they floated toward the designated location of his cage, he silently vowed something—if his only remaining friend died while he was locked away, he was going to take revenge on every single one of them.
.
.
.
It feels weird calling Reina his only friend, it really was.
But she was his only remaining friend, what can he do? Wemmbu and Flame turned against him, so did Theo. They also freed LettuceK too.
He really had to wait long to attack back won't he?.
Or..
He could find what they treasure the most and use it as an advantage—a leverage.
Did they truly expect him to sit quietly in a cage?
They left him no other options. If he wanted to save the server, he had to become the very thing he hated. He would find their loved and use it as leverage to break them. Parrot let out a slight smile.. He knew their exact weaknesses. He knew, and for the first time in his life, he had no choice but show no mercy.
Flamefrags valued his title as to being the 'combat master', but more than that, he treasured his best friend, Lomedy.
Parrot knew exactly what he loved. He knew, and God help him, he was going to use Lomedy to bring them down.
Obviously Parrot couldn't take the title away, unless.. he goes for Lomedy, take Lomedy away, threaten to end his friend.
Wemmbu would be next.
Parrot knew the server dynamics perfectly, and he knew Eggchan was the most special person Wemmbu had. Separating them and taking Eggchan off the board would be entirely too easy due to Eggchans lack of pvp skills...
Finally, there was Theo.
Oh, Theo... my dearest friend, Parrot mused, his chest aching as he stared at the back of the man leading him to his prison.
We spent every single moment together, yet I still never discovered what you truly value. Is it your precious title? Your pride? Your ego? I have no idea.
. . .
That's a problem for future Parrot, he'll have to deal with that last.
.
.
.
Gathering their precious treasures and hostages would be easy.
But actually destroying them? Taking their lives? That was the line he couldn't cross.
He couldn't bring himself to do it, no matter how hard he tried. It wasn't something he'd do. He simply couldn't perform something so horrific, something so brutal.
He was already known to be a terrible leader but that doesn't mean he is a heartless one.
Parrot was fully aware of his reputation,
he was a terrible king—he knows that. But what choice did he have left? He was just one man trying to keep everyone safe, even after months of the entire server hating on him.
He was only human, a man simply doing the best he could.
But...
the real question here was...
Would he actually betray his friends to save a thousand..?
"We're here, step off the ghast." Theo coldly ordered.
Parrot wasn't used to the cold, monotone voice Theo was using, he was used to the warm, welcoming, soothing voice..
Seeing his best friend change his entire personality in real time truly hurt.
He deeply missed the days when they would just laugh together. He missed the times they hunted for treasures, the moments they were willing to die for one another, and the battles where they fought everyone, pros or not—just to save each other.
The happiest memories were always the ones that cut the deepest, transforming past joy into a cruel—agonizing weapon.
This guy infront of him wasn't the Theo he used to know..
They had changed him so much that looking at him was like looking at a completely different person.
"I said, get off the ghast." Theo repeated, much more louder this time.
Parrot stepped off the ghast, they were infront of a massive cave with tons of guards roaming around.
"Bro, I don't even have combat skills. What the hell are these guards actually for?" Parrot scoffed, watching the guards roam around. What were they even guarding him for? He absolutely sucked at PVP.
It’s not like he was planning some top tier, action-movie escape.
"To guard you, duh," Theo replied, rolling his eyes. "Are you stupid? They're called guards for a reason."
Ouch. That actually stung. Hearing those words from Theo felt entirely wrong. God, why do I let him affect me so much? Every piece of Theo's betrayal still echoed painfully inside him.
"Move faster, we don't have all day. Come on."
Just moments ago,
he was questioning the presence of those aimless guards outside. Now, he was questioning why he stood suspended on a circular platform with a cherry blossom tree in the middle, staring down at the bubbling lava underneath.
What the fuck was this.

>>Author<<
Basically that but more better, bigger, and inside a cave cuz I'm no pro like my goat Horace, I couldn't find a massive cave to build in😣
Elder guardians were everywhere,
Well they designed the platform atleast..
Parrot didn't really know why they put a cherry blossom tree in the middle of the platform, he could just break it and make some tools to..
Oh
Elder guardians.. Damn it.
Parrot also realized that what the hell was he going to do with wooden tools? It's not like he could fight the guards in diamonds and netherite anyway.
He could fly out but eh.. The guards will just follow him and Theo would just catch up and put him back in.
Parrot couldn't fly that fast and he knew for sure that Theo flies faster than him
Theo will just catch him every single time.
Parrot would really need to play the long game to win won't he?
Parrot walked towards the cherry blossom tree and sat down under it..
The moss under him felt soft, probably the softest thing he touched aside from Theos face..
Parrot let out a sigh,
he needed to plan his escape whatsoever,
but first, he needed to observe how the guards move, how this place works, and where is all the escape routes. Parrot needed to know what the interior of this place was.
Because right now? He was unfamiliar with this place. He needed to memorize the pathways, how the guards act, and especially their schedule.
Right now, he should start doing that but at the same time Parrot needs to lay low to avoid any assumptions and suspicions
.
.
Days passed.
.
.
.
.
.
Weeks.
.
.
.
.
.
Then months.
It's been months since he last stepped foot outside, By now, Parrot already memorized their steps, their attitude and how they act.
The crucial detail though was Theo, he was the one mainly guarding him, he never leaves he was always there. Staring, wathing observing.
But Parrot doesn't complain.. It's okay.. Its okay since Parrot could see his face 24/7 than sitting alone with nothing to look at and nothing to think about.
Right now.. Parrot doesn't see Theo anywhere. The guards weren't also paying attention to him, they have lowered their guards long time ago.
Okay..
This was it. This is the time where he escapes.
He took too long.. Too long to fight back but today was the day. Today was when everyone will pay the prices.
He already planned how will he escape,
Guards right now aren't really paying attention, they were either talking with eachother.
'Idiots..'
'did they forget that I can fly?'
Parrot waited for the right time to fly to the other side. If he flew right now, the noises will catch their attention.
And from what Parrot observed, they'll switch shifts just in any seconds for right now...
. . .
. . .
There were two entrances, one is where the guards has their loot stashes then the other was the main entrance and exit.
Now he knew that the guards usually go inside their loot stashes all the time, it's basically where they rest. So if Parrot became a little bit patient.. He'd fly away when all they're too busy going to their little loot stash or hideout, whatever u call it.
Okay.. minutes passed, they surely would go inside their lootstash by any seconds now...
Parrot kept his gaze onto the guards. Watching their every move like a hawk.
. . .
Wait for it...
Wait for it...
.
.
After the guards finally went insde their little hideout to change shifts, it was finally Parrots queue to leave this place.
'GO GO GO!'
Parrot ran down towards ledge, snapped his wings wide, and took a hard breath.
He hadn't flown in forever, but there was no time to think.
He launched into a hard dive, slicing through the air and heading straight for the exit at breakneck speed. Freedom was right there.
With a quick flash, he was finally outside, for months he had been stuck inside a cave, seeing the light of day felt refreshing..
But he quickly pushed those thoughts away due to the sudden realization that there were guards outside.
Shit..
Parrot flew high up in the air, cold breeze hitting his face, he needed to get out of here as soon as possible.
His eyes caugt a glimpse of a cave, if he could rush there and hide, he could probably survive.. but that wasn't a great idea. Parrot knew that they'll send multiple guards there.
So if he can't hide in a cave.. where would he hide?..
Wait.. this was a forest. Parrot could just go hide on top of a tree.. because theres no way they will check every tree.. right?
After gaining some distance, he landed on the ground without anyone noticing. They will be searching the sky for a while.
Parrot then quickly climbed on top of a tree branch, the leaves were big enough to hide him. Surely he wouldnt get caught if they send Theo out to find him.
Parrot let out a deep sigh of relief until voices came from the distance
"I saw him fly towards here!"
"You moron! you let him get away, That was your ONLY job!"
"Here here follow me! I saw him go to this direction!"
Parrot held his breath and also holding on for dear life, one movement can shake the whole tree.
"General Saparata is going to fire us.. You guys are so STUPID!"
"Stop arguing damn it! We aren't gonna find Parrot if we keep arguing."
"Saparata will be so PISSED! His only literal rule is watch Parrot at all cost!"
The voices came closer and closer, footsteps marching towards the direction he was in.
More arguing and bickering followed, they kept blaming eachother on the way until their voices grew distant.. quieter and—
"I see you. Whoever you are, come out right now."
. . .
What?..
Who is this—..
Theo..?
Was Theo talking to him or not? Did he caught him?
'Fuck.. oh no.. no no no.'
Sweat beads formed on his forehead, still holding his breath and holding on to the branch for dear life.
"You aren't slick who is ther-"
A critter ran out of the bush,
"Oh."
Theo then proceeded to catch up with the others, Parrot waited for the cockatiel hybrid to head towards the others.
He let out the breath that he was holding the entire time. Gosh that was close.
From what Parrot remembers, Saparata finally took the position as the new king of the unstable. The crown on Parrots head finally was on a different head.
Parrot knew he didn't deserve the crown.. And he surely knew Genaral Saparata doesn't deserve it either.
Both of them had their wrong doings, nobody deserves a crown on it's head..No one deserves it.
.
.
No one.
.
.
Not him, not LettuceK, not Arachnid and especially not Saparata. All of them were a terrible leader.
Parrot waited for a bit, letting time pass on so they can give up with the search.
When that time finally passed,
Parrot finally made his move. With a calculated and silent descent, he climbed down the tree without any trouble. He needed to stay low, especially since he was in desperate need of supplies.
The items.. Now where could he find items? He is intelligent enough to know that he's banned from every city.
. . .
Darn it
Parrot needed to steal.. he didn't really want to but he needed to.
It's only for the best..
Yea, for the best..
But right now, Parrot needs to focus on finding food before he starves to death
Wait doesn't apple drop from trees?
Parrot broke the leaves but no apples dropped..
(Okay if you're questioning why he climbed on to a branch then suddenly the leaves are breakable, I do not know either okay? Just go with the flow🥹)
.
.
'Huh?? What why? Why isn't it dropping anything..'
.
.
You do know this is a birch tree right?..
.
.
..Oh
I know that, I was just breaking it for fun..
.
.
Sure you did.
'Okay Parrot, Focus. Focus!'
Parrot knew that he was tens of thousands miles away from spawn, he'll die if he rushed there with no gear and armor. He did really need to steal.
But who will actually live tens of thousands blocks away from spawn..? That's the real problem.
'Bro..' Parrot sighed..
He needed to go back and steal from cindercrest.. The lootstash, he needed to go back to that damn cell.
'Damn it..'
Parrot flew back to the cave where he was caged for months, it made him sick by judt going inside there, but that wasn't his plan. He needed to act quick, there wasn't any guards around because they were still seaeching for him.
He headed straight to their lootstash, it was filled with chests and inside it was their treasures..
Parrot wasted no time gearing up, 'losers..' he mumbled to himself, he needed to burn the remaining items. Parrot then broke all of the chest took a flint and steal.. then lighted ot all up.
Now he needed to flee... right this instant.
Now that he was geared up, with foods and some invis potions he took.
Parrot proccedded to splash himself with potion then flew to the exit. There was no turning back now. If he's going to do this for the server?
Then he will.
Now all he needed to do was fly back to spawn. Take their treasured ones and then use them for control.
But shit.. he was not that good with pvp. But so was Lomedy,Eggchan.
Without their best friend, they were an easy target.
So Parrot needed to ambush them without Wemmbu and Flame by their side. But he still needed to find where ever the hell were they..
