Chapter Text
Koriand’r’s perspective~~~~~~~~~~~
I am of the worried. I stood in the doorway, watching my two boys laying in sleep. Roy had tear stains on his cheeks. Is something the matter?
“Jason…? Is he not the well?” I whispered gently, floating closer, my hands fidgeting useless.
“Hmm… he’s just having a rough night, Kori…” Jason said, his voice rough with the sleep. I gave the frown. “But he was doing so good as of late.” I whispered, careful not to wake Roy. I continued “He just reached 3 months…” Jason gave me a look that said ‘I know, but that’s not important right now.’ So I shut the mouth as Jason usually says, although reluctantly. I look down at Roy, my hands gently brushing through his bright hair. My hands seem to soothe his sleep as he had let out an almost of content sigh. I noticed something shiny in Roy’s pocket and couldn’t help myself but to gently pull it out. It was a pocket knife keychain that Jason usually tells me I shouldn’t get as they aren’t as adequate as my own weapon. It had a rusty metal plate with “JAY” ingrained in it. The knife was dull and seem to have been used a long time. Attached to the mahogany case for the knife was a shiny keychain with the words “KORY” with an I scratched into the Y. It had palm trees and a small fake gem. Jason had also told me that I shouldn’t get these as they break quickly for earth standards.
“… Kori? Where’d you get those…?” A sleepy voice rasps. Roy was awake. I looked down at him, still holding the two keychains. “Roy? My friend, you awoke!” I said with glee and hugged him, my serious demeanor melting for them. Roy let out a surprised laugh as the bed became a cuddle pile. I held them both close, relieved to be home again. Home was in their arms, and it took me a while to understand. Home is not a place of stay, nor a planet you dwell, it is where the people you care for are.
Home.
