"I'm sure you already heard about your father, right." Enjin says with caution.
Rudo stares at the gloves in his lap, the very same ones that he would have to remember Regto by. He stiffly nods refusing to meet Enjin's eyes.
"Okay then I'll spare you that conversation for now." Enjin hums like it's the easiest thing in the world. "But, I will be your new foster parent for now, I'd like to take you home, I have a nice warm bed and we can even get you some fast food on the way home, whatever you want to eat." Enjin talks mainly just to fill the silence.
"That sounds fine I guess." Rudo mumbles, barely audible. If you weren't listening to this kid you would have missed it. Enjin mutely nods to him letting the moment sit for a few seconds before standing up.
"Alrightly I'll see about the discharge papers then." Enjin explains standing up.
He pokes his head out looking around till he spots a nurse. "Excuse me can I catch you for a moment?" Enjin asks waving her over.
"Y-Yes of course sir!" The young nurse hurried over. "How can I help you?" She asks looking up with bright pink eyes.
"Is he okay for discharge? We ain't trying to be in here longer than necessary." He asks carelessly.
"Ah, I understand let me take a look at his chart." The nurse tells him entering his room after a quick knock.
She makes her way over to the table opening up a laptop. "Hey kiddo, I'm nurse Stilza but you can just call me Eishia if you'd like." She tells him. The kid in question doesn't even bother responding, too busy having a staring contest with the gloves covering his hands.
"I will be handling your discharge here, I'm sure you're ready to get outta here so we'll make this as quick as we can." Eishia states typing away on her keyboard. "Looks here the only thing that was delivered was a sedative called Midazolam used at the emergency site and other than that it doesn't look like there were any injury's documented." Rudo's eyes drift a little to the nurse as she says this looking at her screen more before turning to look back at him. "You may still have some side effects like drowsiness or nausea but if you begin to experience any thing severe please don't hesitate to come back in, okay." Eishia looks back up to meet Enjins gaze nodding to him.
"And with that you're all cleared to go home Rudo!" She tells him with a soft smile on her lips.
Eishia then gets up and leaves the room to go for fill her other duty's, closing the door behind her softly with a click.
"Okay bud, you ready?" He asks the albino kid who still has yet to really say much to the blonde.
Rudo doesn't say much just giving a mere shrug of his shoulders swinging his legs over the side of the bed.
"Alrighty I will be right outside the door so you can get changed." He points to the change of clothes on the chair, It had a blue oversized hoodie and black shorts. "I figured you might like a change of clothes and this was all I could really find in the moment, we can take you shopping later this week when you are feeling up to it." The blonde man tells him as he steps out of the room.
After a few moment's Rudo finally meets him out of the room holding his clothes that the hospital had put in a plastic baggie for him.
"Ready?" Enjin asks looking down at him. He receives a nod back from Rudo. "Okay then lets go, do you want to keep carrying the bag or would you like to hold onto it?" He asks as they start their walk to the elevator doors.
Rudo looks down at the bag some of the blood you could clearly see even though the bag was a pale brownish color. Rudo decides he can't bare to look at it anymore holding it out to Enjin.
The man takes it with ease holding the bag loosely while they walk. He then presses the button to go back down to the ground floor. Once they make it back down to the floor they leave the hospital they walk around the parking garage they reach a red car. It was slightly dirty but mainly pretty clean all things considered.
"Okay buddy safety first!" Enjin cheerfully states bucking in his seatbelt turning on the car. "How does McDonald's sound? Or would you rather go home?" He asks Rudo as he pulls the car out of the spot and begins driving.
"Um McDonald's sounds good." Rudo says in a quiet voice.
Enjin nods in agreement. "Sounds good to me kid."
They drive around for a while, Rudo lays his head on the window watching as buildings and cars fly past them in a series of bright colors under the night sky. He tries not to think about the events, but its all so tiring and all he want's to do is eat and sleep. Rudo wonders if Regto was doing okay in the afterlife. If he was in less pain and felt more at peace then he probably felt leaving the life of the living.
After some time and plenty more thoughts they finally make it to a MacDonald's. There wasn't any line given the time of night. "Okay kiddo feel free to get whatever you want." Enjin tells him
"I um cheeseburger?" He asks, Enjin nods "Good choice." He then leans a bit more to the speaker, "Can I get a cheeseburger and a medium fry?"
"Anything else?" The worker asks through the speaker.
"One small black coffee." Enjin says
"Okay your total will be $12.87. Please pull up to the window." The worker states.
Enjin of course does as the worker asks pulling out his wallet handing the worker his debit card. Once handed the receipt they head over to the second window collecting the food.
