Chapter Text
Six months later, Terry showed up again.
The Batcave was, once again, relatively peaceful.
Bruce was at the console. Dick was doing stretches. Jason was reading a book (probably stolen). Damian was polishing his sword. Tim was drinking coffee and not wearing green.
And Bianca was at a small side table, playing chess against an AI she'd built specifically to beat Bruce's protocols.
"I'm just here to check in," Terry announced.
"Let me guess." Jason didn't look up. "Tim's still not the Joker?"
"Correct."
"Great. Thanks for the update. Bye."
"Also, Carrie Kelley says hi, Damian."
Damian's head snapped up. "She—she said what?"
"She says you look good with short hair."
"I do not have short hair."
"You will."
"DRAKE!"
"Why are you yelling at me?!" Tim yelped.
"I'm going to become the Joker," Terry whispered to Bianca.
Bianca didn't look up from her chess game. "If you keep visiting, I'm going to become the Joker."
"That's fair."
"Close the portal on your way out."
Terry grinned. "You know, you remind me of someone."
"If you say 'myself,' I will end you."
"I was gonna say 'a less emotionally repressed Bruce Wayne.'"
Bianca finally looked up.
Her expression was absolutely murderous.
Terry stepped backward through the portal.
"BYE NOW."
"TERRY MCGINNIS."
The portal closed.
Tim walked over and put a hand on Bianca's shoulder. "You okay?"
"I am going to build a machine that prevents time travel."
"That's hot."
"This is not the time for your nonsense."
But she didn't pull away from his hand.
And when Tim leaned down to kiss her forehead, she let him.
From across the cave, Jason fake-gagged.
"Get a room, you two."
"We're in a cave," Tim pointed out.
"GET A DIFFERENT CAVE."
Bianca picked up her queen piece and threw it at Jason's head.
It hit him square in the forehead.
"WORTH IT," Jason yelled.
And somewhere in the future, Terry McGinnis sneezed, because the bat dust followed him everywhere.
