Chapter Text
“SAM! A LITTLE HELP HERE!” I yelled as I held onto the troll that was ravaging on the streets. As for Sam… she’s at the sidewalk, having a conversation with me.
“I’m just saying, Ste- Spider-Girl,” Sam corrected herself before revealing my identity to the troll. “It has to be scientifically proven. We just need to find someone who would have the same measurement.”
You’re probably wondering what Sam and I (Or rather, just Sam) is discussing. Well…
“NOW’S NOT THE TIME TO TALK ABOUT ZHU YUAN!”
“I’m just saying, Spidey! She has to have a gravitational pull around her… you know! I mean how can you explain her attacking enemies in an instant while meters away?! It’s like Peter Griffin’s weight! Even he has a gravitational force around his stomach.”
Sometimes… I wonder if her Athenian wisdom is being wasted.
“If you want my honest opinion,” The troll yelled as he grabbed me from the back of his head and threw me off. “I prefer softness over density. Just look at Trigger’s, it has just the right firmness yet jiggly motion.”
“Woah woah woah, are you comparing Trigger’s over Zhu Yuan’s?” Sam asked.
Finally, I swung across and was about to land a kick to the troll until he placed a finger pointing up at me.
“Just a moment,” he said. “Are you saying that Trigger is NOT good enough to compete against Zhu Yuan?!”
And so the two argued.
Arguing what exactly?
Well… if you play Zenless Zone Zero… you’ll know.
Anyways, after what felt like an hour. The two argued nonstop, until they went to an agreement of one simple thing.
“SETH AND JANE SHOULD BE A CANON RELATIONSHIP!” They both yelled as the clasped hand in a brotherly way.
“So… you’re good?” I asked the troll.
“Yes… I finally found a companion who agrees with my headcanon!” He replied. “The story with Public Security involved was honestly my favorite. Especially when it shows some moments between Jane Doe and Seth Lowell.”
“Right?!” Sam said. “I’m telling you! The way Jane saw Seth the moment he stood up for her. I swear, all it’s missing was heart eyes and the game could’ve gone to rating M for Mature in mere moments.”
I slap my hand to my face in annoyance. Eventually, the Troll calmed down and decided to turn himself in. All he asks is that he’s allowed to continue playing ZZZ and know Sam’s player ID so they can play and chat together.
Gamers are simple creatures sometimes.
Anyways, the Hunters arrived to take the Troll away. Thalia Grace was leading the unit.
“Thank you for helping us capture him. He was giving the girls and I some trouble taking him down,” Thalia said.
“Yeah, what got him on a rampage in the first place?” I asked.
“Apparently, he was playing a shooter game. It looked like somebody was messing with him nonstop and he had enough.”
“Wait, hold on. A Troll got trolled in a game?”
Now THAT’S ironic.
“The point is, he was mad. And you managed to calm him down,” Thalia said.
“Actually, that was Sam’s doing. But does this mean you and the girls are willing to take my shift for tomorrow?” I asked.
Thalia chuckled, “Sure, kid. I’ll have the girls and I watch over the city. But I have to ask, why the day off?”
I snickered, “I’m going on a fishing trip with my dads.”
“Don’t you mean dad?” Thalia asked.
“Nope!”
[Spectacular Spider-Man Opening]
Episode 4:
A Family Fishing Trip with Blackbeard
The next day, dad and I were waiting at a harbor near Coney Island. We were told to wait for a boat to pick us up. But it won’t be just us that’s going.
“He’s late,” I said. I wasn’t wearing my usual attire, nor am I wearing my spider-suit. I’m on a day off to spend time with the family. From both sides.
“Don’t worry, Estelle,” Dad said. “He’ll make it on time.”
And right on cue, a shadowy figure appeared from the shadows of the port. Percy was there with the kids.
“We’re here!” Percy yelled as he and the kids were getting off of their ride. Which, essentially, is a giant mutt. A hellhound Percy has befriended in the past.
Her name is Mrs. O’Leary.
We all love her.
“Sorry we’re late! Annabeth was applying sunscreen and gave us the whole lecture about safety protocols.”
“Excuses,” I said as I hugged the kids. “At least you made it before-”
HONK HONK
Right on cue, a man wearing a Hawaiian shirt and cargo shorts arrived.
“Welcome! I hope you’re all ready for this fishing trip!”
In case you’re wondering who that is, that is none other than the God of the Sea, Poseidon. He kinda looks like an older version of Percy, black curly hair and sea-green eyes. The only difference is probably his majestical beard.
“Hey Sea-Pop!” I yelled.
Poseidon laughed and got off the boat to greet us.
“I’m so glad you two could make it!” He said, referring to me and my actual dad. To be fair, Poseidon is Percy’s dad, but for punishment for hiding his world from me, I’m borrowing his dad.
“I appreciate the invitation, Lord Poseidon. But are you sure it’s okay for me to tag along?” dad asked.
Poseidon replied, “Nonsense, it’s the least I can do. You accepted Percy as family and treated him like your own son. Plus, you treated Sally well as well. And for that, I’m grateful.”
It’s weird to think about the fact that my mom is married to a teacher, yet she once fell in love with a god.
And BOTH of them are on good terms with each other.
Life works in strange ways.
Anyways, Poseidon told us to get on the boat as he took us to his ACTUAL fishing boat. Oh, you’re probably wondering what Sam is doing right now. She’s back home, helping Leo out with a project.
[Meanwhile]
“Thanks for helping with this. But I don’t know how we’re going to make this work,” Leo said as he looked at the Tesla Truck in his garage.
“I mean… how are we going to make this into a deadly war machine for Ares?” Sam asked.
The two ponders.
What happened was that Ares believed that the Tesla Truck that Elon Musk has made can be modified into a war vehicle. So, he tasked Leo to make it happen.
“For starters, I could put up a bull bar or a grille guard. Make it look like it has a tusk like a warthog.”
“Nah, it’ll look more like a puma.”
“What?!” Leo said. “In what universe would it like a-”
And suddenly, an idea came for them both.
“You thinking what I’m thinking,” Leo asked.
Sam replied, “Let’s make a Warthog.”
“You mean a Puma?!”
“Oh shut up.”
[Back to the Jackson]
“Woah!” I said as we looked at Poseidon’s fishing boat. Or rather, an 18th century sailing ship! Have you ever seen Pirates of the Caribbean? It’s a lot like that.
It took a minute but everyone eventually got up. The kids were amazed and wowed by the deck of the ship.
“Dad! Dad! It’s huge!” Luke yelled.
Poseidon laughed, “I’ll have the captain give you folks the tour.”
“Who’s the captain,” I asked. Just as I asked, a loud booming voice was heard.
“JACKSON!”
“Oh no,” Percy said. The door burst open and out came a man dressed like a Pirate captain. Got the hat, cloak and even the cutlasses. Percy gave a strained smile.
“Edward! How have you been, old friend?”
Edward walked towards Percy.
“Where is she?” He asked.
“Uh… gonna need to be more specific, buddy.”
“Where’s my ship?! The Queen Anne’s Revenge?!”
“Hold on,” I intervened. “You’re Edward Thatch! You’re Blackbeard!”
“Wait, you stole Blackbeard’s ship?!” Dad said.
Percy explained that it was during a time when Camp was on the brink of losing its protection. So Percy and Annabeth went off to the Sea of Monster, which is actually the Bermuda Triangle, to find the golden fleece. Along the way, they encounter monsters, Circe, cyclops and many more. It was on Circe island where Percy met Blackbeard and ended up taking his ship to continue his quest.
“Then, what happened to the ship?” I asked.
Percy awkwardly rubs the back of his head.
“Well… it’s at the bottom of the ocean…”
“YOU SANK THE QUEEN ANNE’S REVENGE?!” Blackbeard and I said.
WHOOSH
In an instant, Blackbeard drew out his cutlass and aimed it at Percy, “That ship has gone up against fleets of the Queen’s finest! How would a mere child of-”
“Captain!” Poseidon yelled.
Blackbeard flinched and took a deep breath. He unsheathed his blade. He grumbled and spoke, “Fine… I’ll cease any hostility, for now.”
Percy sighs in relief. Then his daughter, Silena, spoke up.
“Mr. Blackbeard, are you a pirate?” She asked.
Blackbeard replied, “Yarr, the finest pirate the seven seas has ever seen!”
Luke and Silena gasped in excitement and asked for stories. Blackbeard was about to refuse but he couldn’t resist the shining sparkles in their eyes. And so he began to tell his many tales of being a pirate while giving everyone the tour of the ship.
“Percy,” I said. “How many of your adventures were you not telling me about?”
Percy looks away, “Not… much…”
Oh yeah… he’s totally lying.
Ugh… I wonder how Sam is doing back at her place.
[At Leo’s Garage]
“Look, I’m telling you, Leo. There’s no way he could win a fight against Thragg! The dude is a menace that even CONQUEROR shivers in fear,” Sam said while holding the light for Leo as he works on the engine.
“Hey, I have known the guy since childhood and yeah, trust me when I say this. Thragg ain’t got nothing on my dude.”
Just as he finished on the engine, he closed the hood.
“Now, let's get started on setting up the turret,” Leo said as he pointed up towards the turret that was hanging on top of the truck.
“Don’t change the subject, Leo,” Sam said. “Come on, admit it. There’s no way Yamcha can beat Thragg!”
“I know Yamcha. I watched him get blown up by a saibamen; stabbed by Dr. Gero and even got his ass whooped by a bunch of Cell Jr’s. But despite all that, he still goes out there to help the gang out. He may not be as strong as the saiyans, but I know for a fact that he’s strong enough against the Viltrumites.”
“I mean… he still died from a saibaman.”
“Yeah, but it was AFTER he beat it.”
“He still died,” Sam replied.
“Not the point, look, Yamcha would win. Guaranteed. I bet my life on it!”
“Would you bet your marriage on it?” Sam asked.
“ANYWAYS, let’s move on to the turret.”
“Fine,” Sam replied before she asked, “Who would win in a fight, Master Chief or Caboose?”
“Or don’t you start THAT conversation!”
[At the Ocean]
After Blackbeard gave us the tour of the ship, The family and I began prepping for fishing. Percy and I were helping the kids set up their rods while Poseidon and Dad were having a conversation in private.
Poseidon chuckled, “Hard to believe that those two saved Olympus.”
Dad replied, “Hard to believe they’re my kids. Wait, I didn’t mean-”
“Don’t fret, Paul. I am grateful for how well you have treated Sally and Percy.”
“Of course, they are important to me as well. I have always considered Percy as a son to me. I just hope that I was a good father-figure for him.”
Poseidon hums, “He speaks very highly of you. He is happy that you are able to give Sally a happy life. Which is one of the reasons why I invited you.”
Dad raised an eyebrow, “One of the reasons?”
Poseidon gave a concerned expression, “I have been told that you have been in contact with those from your… previous life.”
Dad’s eyes widened and looked back to us to make sure we weren’t listening in on them. Poseidon asked him, “Do they know? About your past?”
Dad shook his head, “Only Sally knows about it. I kept it a secret from Percy and Estelle. I… I didn’t want them to get involved with it in any way. But if you know about it then…”
Poseidon nodded.
“Correct, most likely those you are well acquainted with are involved with the monsters that attacked Olympus last year. So whatever you are planning on doing, be sure not to leave Percy and Estelle out of it.”
“Hold on, why do they need to know?” Dad asked.
“Because, the last time the family held a secret, Estelle ran off and nearly got her and Percy killed. I don’t want to see another scenario happen to you and them.”
Dad looked back at us as Percy and I somehow got tangled up by wires as the kids laughed at us.
“...You’re right. I need to tell them soon. But… not yet. First, I need to have a meeting with their boss.”
“You do what needs to be done, Paul Blofis,” Poseidon said.
“DADS!” I yelled. “HELP US!”
We were still getting wrapped up by the wires and both our dads rushed in to help us out. Afterwards, we managed to line up our fishing rods and began fishing.
“Hey Percy, you noticed that our dads are getting along pretty well?” I asked as we watched the two men talk casually.
“Huh, I have not,” Percy replied. “Wondered what brought that up?”
“Right? You’d think there’d be some heat between the two. Considering…”
“Don’t say it.”
I chuckled and looked out into the ocean. Now that Percy is here, there was something I wanted to ask him for a long time.
“Hey, Percy?” I asked.
[Leo’s Garage]
“Okay but like, how did that even work? How was it that Church was able to go back in time and make multiple copies of him? That could've saved Project Freelancer a LOT of money AND prevented SO many events.”
Leo stopped screwing the bolts onto the turret.
“Huh… you actually have a point.”
“Right? Also how does that even work? How can an advanced freelancer equipment be able to manipulate time?” Sam asked. “Wouldn’t that be something Master Chief would’ve used?
“Well… You see.. Uh…” Leo ponders a bit. “Huh… I don’t know…”
“Right?!” Sam yelled.
Anyways, the two were just about finishing up on setting the turret on the back of the Tesla Truck. While Leo was putting on the final touches on the turret, Sam asked a question.
“Hey,” Sam said.
“Yeah?”
“...What was Piper McLean like?”
[the Ocean]
“...What was Piper like in the past?” I asked.
Percy froze when he heard the question. He took a deep breath and sigh.
“I figured you were going to ask someday,” He replied. “Piper was… our friend. She was kind, brave and always there for us when we needed help. Both in and out of quests.”
[Leo’s Garage]
“...Piper was my best friend. She’s like the sister I always wanted… besides my actual siblings of course. But Piper was… different. She was someone I can talk to, she keeps you on the ground if you ever plan to do something stupid. Which usually ends up with me doing something stupid,” Leo chuckled.
“What happened?” Sam asked.
“You mean, why did she stop coming to Camp? Or why did she stop talking to us?”
[The Ocean]
“Yeah, why did she cut herself off from you guys? From all the stories you and the gang told, I thought Piper was on good terms with you all,” I said.
Percy was silent for a moment. But the silence was all the answers I needed.
“It had something to do with Jason… doesn’t it.”
Percy was silent but nodded.
“I met his sister yesterday. Thalia Grace. I helped her capture a raging Troll. Though, it was Sam that managed to calm him down.”
Percy chuckled.
“Yeah, Thalia told me. I’m surprised you didn’t ask her about Jason.”
I replied, “I feel like it’d be a touchy subject with her.”
“It’s a touchy subject for all of us. Especially to Leo.”
[Leo’s Garage]
Leo responded, “Both Jason and Piper were my best friends. No, more than that. They were the closest thing I had to family. After our quest to stop Gaia, I sacrificed myself and came back alive to free Calypso. But… After we left her island, I never made time to give them a call and tell them I’m back. If I did…”
“You’d think you could’ve prevented what happened?” Sam asked.
“...I don’t know,” Leo replied. “Maybe if I was there, I could’ve made it easier between the two, or maybe find a way out. I don’t know.”
Sam notices the sadness glimmering from his eyes.
“Do you still feel responsible for it? Even though you didn’t do anything wrong?”
Leo scoffed, “I still feel it, everyday. If it weren’t for my selfishness, maybe Jason would still be alive. Maybe Piper would still come and see us from time to time. Maybe… I don’t know, maybe they’d still be together.”
Leo sighs.
“Ever since then, I felt like all I do is mess things up. I can build things, no problem. But when it comes to people and emotions, things get complicated really fast. Hell, I nearly messed up with Calypso because of my issues.”
[The Ocean]
“Maybe if Annabeth and I were with them… I don’t know. Maybe we could’ve done something to change his fate,” Percy said.
“But Percy, you were focused on getting to college at the time. Annabeth told me you two had to go through some stuff just to go to college together in New Rome.”
Percy sighed and nodded, “I know, but I should’ve done something.”
I patted his back.
“You couldn’t be everywhere at once, Percy.”
“I know… but I wish I did something,” Percy replied. “Jason was my- sorry, our cousin.I should’ve been there for him.”
“And Piper?”
[Leo’s Garage]
After Leo finishes setting up the last bolt on one of the wheels, he puts down the power tool and replies. “Honestly, I don’t know. It was a couple of years after Estelle was born. Piper would come and visit Percy’s family whenever she was at camp. We all did. We tend to help out by taking care of Estelle. But then, an incident occurred.”
“An incident?” Sam asked.
[The Ocean]
Percy replied, “Yeah, when you were about five years old, a monster snuck up behind Piper and kidnapped you.”
“What?!” Estelle yelled. “Why don’t I remember this?”
“Well, you were young. I believe it was around the time you met Clyde.”
I flinched when he mentioned Clyde.
I immediately realized why I kept that memory repressed.
“Oh, now I remember.”
[Leo’s Garage]
Sam replied, “It was around the same time Estelle and I met Clyde. Our other friend we have known since we were kids.”
Leo nodded as he started lifting the suspensions on the truck.
“Yeah, Percy told me how close you three were back in the day. I also heard that Estelle and Clyde made a promise before he moved.”
Sam snickered, “Oh yeah, I recall. I was there. Honestly, I bet even Caboose would’ve noticed the sparks between those two.”
Leo laughed.
“Yeah… but anyways, after that incident, Piper seems to have cut herself off from everyone. She stopped coming to camp. She stopped calling us. She hadn’t even paid a visit to New Rome since.”
“Do you think she will come back?” Sam asked.
[The Ocean]
Percy shrugged, “I don’t know… Annabeth wants to confront her about it, and so does Leo. But, something tells me this is something Piper needs to do herself. We can’t force people to heal. And we can’t force her to come back. She’ll come back when she’s ready. At least… I hope so…”
I recall the many tales Percy told me when I was little. After I learned about his Mytho-side of life, he told me the truth about his stories. Or, you know, the ones he DID tell me.
All the pain he endured.
All the loss he suffered.
All the sacrifices he made.
Being a demigod is not a fun life.
“Well… I hope to see her again,” I said.
“Me too, Estelle. Me too.”
“CAPTAIN!” one of the pirate crewmembers shouted. “I spotted something ahead! Something massive and heading towards us.”
We all looked towards the other side of the ship. We all spotted something that seemed to be swimming rapidly towards us.
“Uh… Dad?” Percy said. “What’s coming after us?”
“I don’t believe it,” Poseidon said. “He rarely comes out to the surface nowadays.”
“Who?!” Percy asked.
“IT’S THE BEAST HERSELF!” Blackbeard said as he unsheathed his blade. “Men! Ready the cannons!”
The men cheered.
“What?! What beast?!” I yelled.
“It’s the Kraken,” Poseidon replied.
“What?!” Percy and I yelled.
The kids got excited as they spotted it.
“Uh, guys! It’s getting closer,” Dad said.
“Paul, take the kids inside the captain’s quarter. Estelle and I will handle this!”
“Wait, what?!” I yelled.
Ugh… I can only imagine what Sam is doing today. Can’t be as crazy as what I’m doing.
[Meanwhile in New York]
Out in the streets of Manhattan, a taxi driver stopped at a red light. Suddenly, he hears music coming closer to his side.
[Los Dos Laredos/Acordeones de Oro by Jaime Y Los Chamacos]
As he turned, he noticed a Tesla Truck that was heavily fortified. A Bull bar attached to the front, the doors removed and the back seems to have an attached turret to it. The suspensions on the truck rose to lift the truck higher as well as the wheels replaced with bigger wheels with stronger tire grips. And, for some reason, the truck was playing loud mariachi music in the open. But that’s not the only thing he noticed. On both the driver and passenger sides, he spotted two individuals wearing colored armors that resembled a lot like Master Chief from the Halo series. Both were wearing red but Sam’s seem to be wearing a darker shade of red. Like a maroon-like color.
“Why do I have to be Simmons?” Sam asked.
Leo replied, “Hey, you insisted we wear these for accurate cosplaying. Which, by the way, was not what we were supposed to be doing in the first place. Also, well you’re the daughter of Athena. You’re basically a nerd.”
“What?! Come on!” Sam yelled.
“Do you prefer to be the pink one? Or the fat one?”
Sam didn’t say anything but proceeded to stare at Leo. Though you can’t really tell what her expression is behind the helmet, we can assume what she’s expressing.
She sighs and replies, “I’ll be the maroon one.”
Sam looks around and asks Leo, “You think we’ll get in trouble for this?”
“Nah, I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with modifying our own vehicles.”
Suddenly, sirens were being heard from behind them.
Leo groans, “Ah, Son of a bi-”
[The Ocean]
“SON OF A BI-” I yelled as I managed to dodge a tentacle in mid-air as I swung around to attempt to web it up.
“HEY! Language, young lady!” Percy yelled as he fends off against one of the tentacles. The crew and I were attempting to stop the Kraken from tearing up the ship. Percy and Blackbeard were at the main deck and were slicing off tentacles from clinging onto the ship while I was trying to web them up and tangle up the beast. Poseidon, meanwhile, went into his giant god form and attempted to communicate with the beast to calm down. Unfortunately, the kraken was on a rampage and was tangling itself with Poseidon.
It’s kind of crazy how this all started from a simple fishing trip. But anyways, as we all struggled to stop the squid, I noticed something on the top of the Kraken’s face. It looks to be some sort of spear and it appears to be glowing.
“Percy! You see that?!” I yelled as I swung by him.
Percy looks at where I was referring to and notices it.
“It could be what’s making him go on a rampage! We need to get it off!”
“On it!” I yelled. I fired a web thread at the spear but my spider-senses tingled and I suddenly got slammed by one of the tentacles. Percy spotted and ran towards me. However, the tentacles were preventing him from helping me. Meanwhile, Blackbeard was laughing.
“YARR! NOW THIS IS HOW WE TRULY FISH, LADS!” Blackbeard said. “JACKSON! Consider this repayment for taking my ship! Help me claim this beast and I shall be indebted to you!”
“Easier said than done!” Percy yelled.
As the crew fought hard to fend off the Kraken, Percy was attempting to help me escape from the monster’s clutches.
“Forget about me! Get the spear!” I yelled. But one of the tentacles managed to grab Percy as well.
Huh, the Kraken managed to do what most monsters and possibly gods struggle to do.
Pinned down Percy Jackson, Spider-Girl and an Olympian.
But you know who’s not having trouble.
Blackbeard.
He swung his blades across each tentacle and managed to jump on one. He ran straight towards the beast with a giddy grin and a hefty laugh. The Kraken is trying to smack off Blackbeard but he was too swift and cunning. I mean, he’s living the best of his life so I can’t blame. Or rather, his second chance of a pirate’s life since he was imprisoned in Circe’s island for centuries.
Anyways, just as Blackbeard was about to grab the spear, the squid was about to slam one of its tentacles at him.
“Look out!” I yelled. I fired my webs at the tentacle and stopped its movement.
“Thank you, lassie!” Blackbeard replied. He then proceeded to pull the spear out of the kraken. Its movement stopped abruptly and seemed to remain still for a moment. Then it started to move again and began removing itself from us, Poseidon and the ship.
Percy and I sigh with relief while Blackbeard laughs.
“I haven’t felt this alive since we escaped from Circe’s grasp!”
I snickered as Percy chuckled.
“It was pretty crazy that time. Barely escaped without Annabeth’s help.”
“Of course, saved by Annabeth as always, huh? Guess some things just never changed,” I replied.
Eventually, Poseidon let go of the Kraken and returned to his human form. Percy and Poseidon discussed the monster while I went to check up on dad and the kids. I looked into the captain’s quarters and spotted a severed tentacle. The kids were bouncing on it while Paul was staying close to them. He also seems to be holding a… cutlass?
“Dad?” I said.
“Oh, Estelle. How’d it go?”
“Did… you do that?” I asked, gesturing at the tentacle.
“Yeah,” Dad replied. “Did a bit of fencing back in my youth. Looks like I still got it.”
Percy burst in.
“Everyone alright?!” He asked. The kids saw their dad and ran towards.
“Dad! Grandpa took out a fish arm with a pirate sword!” Luke yelled in excitement.
“Can Grandpa teach us how to use a sword when we grow up? Please?!” Silena asked.
Percy sigh in relief, “Thanks for watching over them, Paul. I appreciate it.”
“Wait! You know dad knows how to fight?!” I asked. “Is there anything ELSE I don’t know about?!”
“We’ll talk about it later, let's just head out. You’ll need to hear this, Estelle.”
As well head out on the main deck, Poseidon was still talking to the Kraken.
“Hey Percy, what’s it like understanding fishes and horses?” I asked.
Percy shrugged, “No different to just talking to other people. But I do tend to get weird looks whenever I’m at an aquarium.”
I snickered.
Poseidon turned to talk to us while holding onto the spear that was on the beast.
“It seems we managed to save her from impeccable danger. Looks like this weapon was meant to be used to stop her from escaping. Someone was attempting to capture her.”
“Her? You mean the Kraken?” I asked. “Also, who?”
Poseidon handed us the spear and noticed a symbol on it. It had twin snakes and a face.
“Wait, I've seen this before,” Percy said. “Carter showed it to us at our last meeting. This is the symbol of the Cult of Cosmos.”
“Hold on,” I interrupted. “You mean THE cult. The cult that has been around since Ancient Greek? The one that has been pulling the strings for every major quest you guys have been through in the past?!”
“Correct,” Poseidon answered. “But that’s not all… from what Betty told me-”
“Wait, Betty?” Paul asked. “She has a name? I hope she’s not upset about her… arm.”
“Do not fret, Paul. She’s a tough one,” Poseidon replied. “But from what she told me… it seems that the cult has gotten some help from someone who’s quite skillful. Though she never got a good look on his face. He was wearing a skull mask.”
Oh no…
“Chrysaor,” Percy replied. “It has to be him.”
In case you don’t know who that is, Chrysaor is the son of Poseidon and Medusa (Don’t ask) who once captured Percy and his friends during their quest against Gaia. The only reason they managed to escape is because Percy pulled a Joseph Joestar and managed to trick his way out of a fight and beat Chrysaor.
“Most likely,” Poseidon replied. “I don’t know what he’s planning. But you both watch yourselves. Chrysaor may still be upset with your last encounter with him, Percy.”
“Bro… how many people have you angered in the past?” I asked
“Enough…”
I sigh. Hopefully this Chrysaor won’t be coming to Manhattan. From what Annabeth told me, there’s little to no chance of actually beating him in combat.
Later, Poseidon managed to drop us to the pier. We thanked Blackbeard and the crew for the assist and a lift for fishing. Blackbeard was definitely happy he got to confront the Kraken head-on. As for the beast, she was grateful for freeing her from the spear’s control and returning to the ocean. Poseidon will be having some of his men escort her to safety in the meantime.
“Well… today was quite an eventful day,” Dad said. “Thank you again, Poseidon, for the fishing trip.”
“Not a problem. I do apologize again for that. Hopefully things will go a lot smoother on our next trip.”
Percy interrupted, “I just got a call from mom. She’s currently at Calypso’s diner and waiting for us there.”
“Alright, who’s up for some of Calypso’s food?” I asked the kids.
Meanwhile, Percy asked.
“Hopefully Leo and Sam will be back from their trip too. I was told they had to go see Ares for the moment.”
I scoffed. “Can’t be as eventful as our day was.”
[Meanwhile, at Olympus]
Ares stares in confusion on how a Tesla truck managed to get to the top floor of where his office is. Leo and Sam, meanwhile, were standing next to the now on fire vehicle with their armors still intact but all scratched, bruised and burnt up.
“So… you got chased by mortal cops and it somehow led to you here… in my office… with the Tesla Truck?”
“We call it the warthog,” Sam said.
“Okay, first, it looks more like a puma. Second, you crashed into my office.”
Leo replied, “Uh… I’ll pay for the damage… and help Annabeth fix it up.”
Well… Guess I wasn’t the only one that had an eventful day off.
While I was out fishing, Sam was out helping Leo on building an iconic video game vehicle and somehow went on the craziest car chase ever... of all time.
Yeah… our lives are weird. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.
[Meanwhile, back at the Ocean. 3rd POV]
Deep in the ocean, a ship was sailing, filled with masked crews and dolphin-like creatures. In the Captain’s quarter, the captain seems to be getting an Iris Message. The images began to morph to reveal a face.
“Well… Chrysaor. I was wondering when you will pop up again.”
Chrysaor replied, “Silvermane. I see you’re still alive and kicking. So what do I owe the pleasure?”
Silvermane spoke, “I am working on something here in New York. But I seem to be having some… distractions. I was hoping if you’re open for… another task.”
Chrysaor stepped closer to the Iris Message and revealed his mask.

His skull mask.
“So long as the pay is good.”
