BREAKING NEWS: SHADOW And SUKUNA DESTROY ANOTHER City Block In FIREFIGHT (2 min read)
By: Nobara Kugisaki & Megumi Fushiguro - Last updated September 5th, 2018 at 10:24 AM.
Once again, SHADOW and SUKUNA were sighted having a violent altercation which resulted in the destruction of a city block on the southside of JU campus, resulting in 3 civilian injuries but no fatalities. The JU community is advised to use the marked detours, and to clear the area and contact local police if Sukuna is sighted. Mounting damages to civilian infrastructure as a result of these violent confrontations have the JU community and wider city population wondering: Does Shadow have what it takes to bring Sukuna down?

“So, I’ve heard the rumors– it looks like we’re in love.”
Sukuna is right beside Megumi before he has a chance to notice the other man approaching him. When Megumi processes the supervillain’s words, though, it’s too frustrating for him to feel the fear he knows should be gripping him.
“Not you too,” he groans, forgetting they’re supposed to be enemies for a second to hang his head in despair. Is everyone seriously in on this thing? It feels like a giant joke by the universe, that everyone and their mother thinks that he’s in love with the supervillain who looks nearly identical to the boy he’s actually crushing on.
A low chuckle snaps him out of his idiotic thinking, and before he can get away there’s a hand on his shoulder, a mouth whispering close to his ear.
“Do you like bad boys, Shadow?”
Megumi jerks away, vaults himself across the street so there’s a good bit of distance between them. How Sukuna managed to sneak up on him while he was hiding in the shadows of an alleyway, he doesn’t know, but it tells him he needs to work on his stealth. And his awareness. Why did he drop his guard around Sukuna, of all people, like that?
“I’m only into good boys,” he snaps back, before feeling his cheeks get hot at his own words. Shit.
Across the street, he can see the fire in Sukuna’s eyes as he drags his gaze down Megumi’s body, then back up again. It sends a shiver down his spine. Even with his face covered in a mask and wearing his superhero suit, Megumi feels naked, exposed, bare underneath Sukuna’s focused vision with all four of the supervillain’s eyes locked onto him.
“I could be good for you. If you made me.”
For a moment, Megumi struggles to understand what exactly is happening. The other man’s tone is teasing, his eyes still looking at Megumi like a piece of meat, and as unrealistic as it seems Megumi thinks he’s putting the pieces together properly.
Is Sukuna… flirting with him?
The thought fills him with rage. This is the man who put his sister, Tsumiki, in a coma. There’s no chance in hell he would ever consider any kind of relationship with this criminal, and that’s before mentioning all of the other terrible marks on Sukuna’s track record.
“You’re psychotic. You’re a murderer,” He spits out. He thinks he might see Sukuna raise an eyebrow at him, as if unimpressed.
And then Sukuna disappears into the night. Megumi turns, looks behind him, then around again, and although he can’t place the location of the other man, he can still sense that overwhelming presence nearby.
“Where are you? Show yourself!” The empty night air seems to taunt him, and Megumi hears a frustrated growl coming from himself. “You coward!” He shouts again in the direction where Sukuna disappeared.
“You’re pretty cute when you’re angry.” His voice is behind Megumi again, somehow he moved without him sensing Sukuna’s presence, and his breath is a low, purring velvet as he whispers into Megumi’s ear.
Megumi freezes again, just for a second, before letting out another growl and turning around, fists raised, ready to fight. But, once again, Sukuna has vanished, apparently more interested in playing around with Megumi tonight than causing any destruction to civilian infrastructure. After prowling the area for a half hour, Megumi accepts that he is alone, changes out of his costume in an alleyway (after checking the area four times to make sure Sukuna is really gone) and heads back to the dorms.
He’s still blushing when he gets home, so when Yuji asks him if he sat out in the sun for a long time or something today Megumi just says “Yes,” because, really, he has no idea what to say. Yuji gives him a surprised look like he was joking, but he doesn’t press the issue, whether because he actually believes Megumi or he’s begun to understand the rhythm to what things Megumi doesn’t want to be asked about and he’s just a good person like that, Megumi isn’t sure. Perhaps it’s a mixture of both.

Megumi introduces Yuji to Nobara during the first week of classes, which quickly proves to be a Bad Idea because they become insufferable around each other. To be fair, he’d only done it because Yuji had predictably asked ‘Where are you going?’ and when Megumi tried saying he was going to the field office (he really wanted to get out on the streets and look for Sukuna), Yuji just asked if he could tag along. However, Yuji and Nobara are like two planets, two extreme polar gravitational forces, and when they collide the consequences are beyond Megumi’s ability to mend.
“Which one of these photos should we go with?” Megumi hears Shoko talking to Nobara (and Yuji, who’s started following Megumi to the JUFP without asking, and who is sometimes already there chatting with Nobara when Megumi arrives), and he can’t help but eavesdrop (the photos are of him, after all).
Nobara leans her head in and makes a sound somewhere between a giggle and a shriek. “Number 4! That one almost looks like they’re kissing, it’s perfect!”
Megumi glares at her, but when he sneaks a look, he has to admit the angle of the photo does frame their faces in a way that, if set in a different context, might seem like they are about to kiss.
“You have a good eye, Nobara,” he hears Shoko praise her. Megumi puts his head in his hands.
And then, as if the universe is trying to play games with him, Megumi hears Yuji’s voice say, “Woah, maybe they are gay. Look at that, Fushiguro! They actually look gay here!”
Slowly, he raises his head from his hands to glare at Yuji. The betrayal.
“I thought we already wrote an article about that fight,” Megumi tries saying.
“Yeah, we did, but we didn’t cover this part of the fight!” Nobara is relentless.
“What part?”
She gives him a knowing look. “The gay part? C’mon, Megumi, keep up.” Then, because she hates him or something, she tacks on, “I thought you were supposed to be an expert on that.”
Megumi’s eyes widen in a way which might be comical if Nobara didn’t just out him in front of Yuji and Shoko. She seems to realize this immediately from his expression, and hastily says, “Since you’re always complaining about my gay tags! You homophobe!” The expression on her face tells him that she didn't really think over her words that time, either.
He puts his head in his hands, again, groaning weakly. And then, because of course he does, Yuji asks, “Wait, you’re a homophobe?" Megumi lifts his head to glare pointedly at Nobara.
Fuck it, Megumi thinks, He’s going to find out at some point anyway. “No. I’m gay. She knows this.”
“Ohhhh.. Sick!” He turns his gaze to Yuji, who doesn’t wither under his glare.
“Sick? Really?”
Shoko makes a rare show of compassion and gives Megumi a pat on the shoulder. “I’m glad you felt comfortable telling us, Fushiguro.”
(“For reference, Yuji, that’s how you’re supposed to respond when someone comes out to you,” Nobara mutters quietly.
“What’s wrong about what I said?”
Megumi ignores them.)
“Thanks,” he addresses Shoko only, and she gives his shoulder another reassuring squeeze before dropping her arm, making some excuse, and going outside to smoke a cigarette. How she is still alive when she vapes all the time indoors and smokes cigarettes seemingly every moment she goes outdoors, Megumi has no idea. Maybe she has superpowers too. Super lungs.
“So, are we pre-gaming tomorrow night or what?” It’s Yuji who asks this, but Nobara is already chomping at the bit, so Megumi wonders if he didn’t take the words out of her mouth. It’s Homecoming weekend, and they are determined to have the Real Freshman Experience, so he’s getting dragged along with them it seems.
“What’s a pre-game again?” Megumi asks, mostly to annoy them, and their chorus of shrieks and groans is well worth appearing slightly more socially out-of-touch than he is in reality.

SECRET ROMANCE?? SHADOW and SUKUNA seen having a HEATED rendezvous! (3 min read)
By: Nobara Kugisaki & Yuji Itadori - Last updated September 6th, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
Once again, our hometown hero SHADOW was seen facing off against his long-time nemesis SUKUNA, which ultimately closed off 5th avenue in south JU campus (pedestrians are advised to use the detour marked on Huron St. while repairs are underway). Before the firefight, the rivals seemed to have an intimate conversation, suggesting a more personal relationship between the pair than the public knows. Shadow has not responded to our request to comment. Sukuna…(Click Here to Keep Reading!)

Megumi debates reading more of Nobara’s latest post, but he recognizes the inverted pyramid method after sitting around in the JUFP field office this long, and he knows there isn’t anything more to read that he hasn't already seen in a previous article she’d written about them. About him. And he doesn’t want to see what stupid tags she’s chosen to use.
So, I’ve heard the rumors– it looks like we’re in love.
In the beginning, Nobara had been spitting utter nonsense. But now, while they didn’t make headlines for any violence the last time they spoke, if she knew what Sukuna said to him she would be shitting herself. Maybe even literally, Megumi isn’t sure.
Do you like bad boys, Shadow?
His cheeks feel excessively hot whilst remembering the words his enemy said to him. Sukuna was just messing with him, it should mean nothing, Megumi knows this, but for some reason that dumb, twisting feeling is back in his chest, and it’s accompanied by a flare of something hot from lower in his body that tells him it means more to him than he wants to admit.
I could be good for you. If you made me.
He tries to exorcise the memories of Sukuna’s words from his ears, but they are stuck in his head like one of those terribly catchy pop songs, and his mind seems determined to sing along.
You’re pretty cute when you’re angry.
Megumi huffs and scrolls back up to the top of the story to distract himself from his own thoughts, and then freezes when he rereads the byline. No way.
“Yuji?” he asks aloud, the other boy half-sleeping, half-watching Tiktoks on his bed.
“Wassah brah?” Megumi hates that he even thinks it’s cute when Yuji talks like a mindless frat-bro neanderthal.
“Did you join the JUFP?” Thankfully, his voice sounds neutral.
“Oh. Sorry, was that like, your thing?” He can’t believe that’s what Yuji thinks the issue is. Megumi is partly wondering if this is a prank, but Yuji’s voice is as earnest as ever, so he tentatively forges forward.
“No, it’s just that…”
“What?” Now Yuji sounds suspicious, and is sitting up on his bed, putting his phone face-down on his bed. Megumi feels his throat get a little tighter at the feeling of Yuji’s undivided attention. Do I ask?
“Your article. With Kugisaki.”
Now, Yuji looks slightly annoyed, and he crosses his arms over his chest petulantly. “Okay, look, I know you don’t believe in Shakuna, but I do!”
“Shakuna?!” For some reason, that one word is the only thing Megumi can focus on out of what Yuji said. He still has his arms crossed over his chest, but something about Megumi must look pretty funny to him, because there’s a grin tugging at his lips that makes Megumi feel that lurching in his chest again.
“It’s their ship name!” Yuji replies haughtily, cocky, like he’s an expert and Megumi’s some naive little boy who knows nothing, and it’s so cute despite the absurdity of the situation that Megumi can’t help but snort out a laugh.
“Sorry, did I shit on your OTP?” He asks, and is rewarded by Yuji looking at him with this overdramatic shocked look.
“You know what an OTP is?! How?!” Yuji sounds so genuinely surprised, Megumi lets his guard down, laughing at the sight of his gaped open mouth and wide eyes.
“I’ve probably spent more time on the internet than I have around real people.”
The admission is technically embarrassing, which Megumi realizes after he says it, but before he can try to save his reputation Yuji’s letting out this bright, pealing laugh and bending over, and when he brings his head back up his eyes are filled with this mirth that warms Megumi from his head to his toes.
He really likes this boy. Distantly, he thinks that he liking Yuji this much is going to bite him in the ass eventually, but he just laughs with Yuji and drops the subject of the article anyway. Nobara is blowing up their phones about their plans for the evening, and despite the sinking feeling in his chest that he’s going to make a fool of himself, Megumi decides to set aside his hero life for one night and see what it’s like to be a Normal Guy in freshman year of Uni during Homecoming weekend.
– – – – –
Megumi is intensely uncomfortable from the moment they approach the frat house. He has this horrible feeling that when they get there the pledges will make him and Yuji do something stupid while letting Nobara in without a problem, and he has an even worse feeling that Yuji will be willing to do it and will make Megumi join him.
They’re all a bit too drunk already. Nobara recently learned the phrase ‘baddie baddie shot ‘o’ clock!’ and by the time they are finally leaving for the direction of the greek life houses, Megumi is struggling to walk straight and Nobara is only speaking nonsense. Not, he thinks, that it’s much of a change from her normal state.
Yuji’s been paying more attention to his phone than the road and is drunk, so he also trips several times along the way (although, by the third time of him stumbling directly into Megumi, he suspects Yuji might be targeting him as a cushion). His efforts seem to have been worthwhile, however, because as they approach the frat house (which has an extremely ominous presence to Megumi, blasting music so loudly they can hear it from down the block and spilling people from every door onto the lawn and the street like some awful explosion of a social gathering) two men emerge from the front door who seem overjoyed, yelling in unison, “BROTHER!”
One of them is shirtless, which is a little weird, but he does have exceptionally good abs, so Megumi isn’t exactly complaining. The other one has this odd marking across under his eyes, maybe face paint or a tattoo, that looks like a simple streak of ink across his nose, connecting the apples of his cheeks.
“You have brothers?” Nobara asks, and Megumi wants to know as well, so he says nothing.
Yuji does a half-shrug while making this goofy expression with his face, as if saying No, but don’t ask, and he chirps, “Kinda. Let’s go!” Then the pink-haired boy follows his ‘brothers’ into the house, so Megumi and Nobara exchange a glance that communicates a mutual sense of Fuck it and they follow behind.
It’s disgustingly crowded and stinks of sweat, but that’s exactly what Megumi expected, so he doesn’t complain. The music playing as they walk in is some rap song that Megumi doesn’t know, but Yuji is bobbing his head a little as if he likes it so Megumi decides he likes it too. He watches the other boy’s lips trace over the words and he tries to focus harder on hearing.
La da da, la da da da da, So if you don’t know by now then you should probably get familiar-
“Oh my god, of course you like G-Eazy,” Nobara elbows Yuji, and he rubs the back of his head sheepishly. Then she smiles and starts swaying her body a little from side to side, says, “It’s okay, this is a good song,” while laughing a little, and Megumi is reminded of why he likes Nobara. He can’t dance, it’s never been something that comes naturally to him, but watching them he manages to make his own body sway in a way that he hopes looks somewhat like regular human movement.
Yuji smiles back at her, turns that smile Megumi’s briefly, and for a moment he’s too busy noticing the sharp flash of Yuji’s white teeth to pay attention to anything else. The song is playing this dreamy progression of notes, and maybe it’s just because Megumi’s far too inebriated, but in the multicolored lights of the frat house Yuji is stunningly beautiful.
La da da, la da da da da, I’m a lady killer, I’m a- I’m a lady killer-
He gets lost in watching Yuji, although he can feel two burning holes on him that he thinks might be Nobara staring at him. Oh well. Can he really be blamed if he’s a little drunk and Yuji is looking like that and smiling and he admires the view? But then, the song changes into something so intense and unexpected it throws Megumi for a loop.
Listen to this track, bitch!
Yuji and Nobara look at each other with wide, gleeful eyes, whooping and shrieking out something incomprehensible, and then suddenly they are running to the ‘dance floor’ (which is really just the living room of the frat house, but, hey, that’s where people are dancing), shoving people out of the way, and Megumi would be far more embarrassed that he came with these idiots if he wasn’t so distracted by the fact that Yuji is holding his hand to pull him along.
Girl, the way you move it, got me in a trance-
They push into the throng of people and Megumi feels exceptionally dumb, just standing there and trying to bob his head a little as Yuji and Nobara start essentially screaming the lyrics of the song at each other.
DJ, turn me up, ladies, this your jam-
For a moment, Megumi can’t think, because then Yuji stops belting the lyrics at Nobara and turns to look at Megumi, makes a silly small gesture with his thumb and pinky like he’s miming drinking while rolling his body, and it’s both so hot and so ridiculous and Megumi has never been so aware of how bad he is at dancing before until just now, with Yuji looking at him like this. And then, Yuji points at him, continuing to half-rap, half-sing along as if he’s speaking directly to Megumi.
And I'ma throw this money while you do it with no hands-
Yuji does the impossible, the entirely unpredictable. He turns around in front of Megumi and drops, standing back up in a rolling motion that moves his body against Megumi behind him, and-
And Megumi tells himself that Yuji must be really drunk, because that’s the only thought that can make any sense in his head. He hears someone that sounds like Nobara cheering.
He stops listening to the lyrics for a moment, too dazed. Is this really happening? And then Yuji is turning around, slinging an arm around Megumi’s neck with this dazzling, breathtaking smile on his face, and body rolls again while putting his other hand up in the air, the very picture of carefree.
Megumi has never before wished he could suddenly, magically possess the ability to dance, but he does at this moment.
All I wanna do is sit back and watch you move, and I'll proceed to throw this cash-
Yuji pulls away, then, and does the same thing with Nobara, who reciprocates his body rolls while yelling the lyrics back at him joyously, shamelessly, and Megumi needs to get out of here, get some water or something, because his head feels dizzy and the embarrassment at his own awkwardness that should be dominating his attention is being pushed aside by how much he wants to ask Yuji to do that again.
All that ass in your jeans-
Yeah, he needs to get away immediately. Megumi chokes out some dim-witted excuse before frantically running to find some sort of drink table or a bathroom or anywhere free that he can freak out.
Thankfully, there’s a doorway nearby that leads to the kitchen, and Megumi takes a few seconds to drink two red solo cups of water from the Brita on the counter in quick succession. After his pounding heart has calmed down a little bit, he becomes aware of someone standing in the kitchen across the room from him, leaning against the wall and looking at him.
It’s one of Yuji’s ‘brothers,’ the one with the tattoo across his face. He has dark brown hair tied up in two buns on the back of his head that would normally be kind of cute, but paired with his grungey look and challenging gaze while appraising Megumi, they fail to make him any less intimidating.
“You’re Yuji’s roommate.”
It’s not a question.
Megumi nods, clears his throat, and tries asking, “And you’re his brother?”
“I’m Choso.”
It’s not exactly the answer he was looking for, but Megumi will take it. He opens his mouth to ask something else, maybe something about Yuji and how they are related to each other, but someone enters the kitchen and whispers something in Choso’s ear, and then he’s nodding at Megumi and saying, “See you,” before leaving with them, talking about personal matters involving prices and weights that makes Megumi think Choso might be involved in something illicit.
Who exactly is this Yuji Itadori? Megumi wonders, not for the first time.
He shrugs off the encounter and throws out his solo cup, venturing out of the kitchen and back in the direction of the dance floor where he’d abandoned Yuji and Nobara. He thinks he can see Yuji through the crowd, he keeps getting flashes of his pink hair bobbing around, but it seems like he’s moving closer to the wall, so Megumi moves in that direction, trying to intercept him.
Nobara comes into his vision, and she’s still dancing along to the music without a care in the world, but Yuji is harder to see for some reason, even though he’s taller than her, as there’s another person who keeps blocking Megumi’s vision, almost as if that other person is following Yuji too. Megumi pushes past a few more people in the crowd, and then stops.
Oh. Oh.
Megumi freezes in place, because the crowd parts enough for him to get a better view, and he realises now he knows what Yuji looks like when he’s kissing someone.
He’s unexpectedly docile, backed up against the wall now under some nameless, faceless person that Megumi is certain must be an asshole without needing to converse with him. Except, Yuji seems to be okay with this person doing these things to him, because Megumi sees Yuji put his hands in the random asshole’s hair, sees what Yuji’s lips look like parting around a moan, what his tongue looks like sliding into someone’s mouth, what his eyes look like half-lidded in shameless pleasure.
Nobara is still dancing amidst the throng of people, just a few feet away, appearing nonchalant to this turn of events. Megumi knows that if he was a normal person, he might be able to go back into the crowd and pretend that nothing is wrong, he could sing the lyrics of the songs and dance along and maybe even be a candidate for this casual making-out-while-dancing thing that Yuji seems to be into.
Then, to his horror, Nobara sees him standing there and she waves, beckoning him back, but Megumi can’t go rejoin her. Megumi isn’t a normal person, he doesn’t know the words to any of these songs, and he definitely can’t dance.
So he runs.

(22:42) Nobara: YOOOO R U OK
(22:43) Nobara: looked like u saw a ghost
(22:55) I’m fine.
(22:58) Nobara: u ran into the br 15 mins ago and still haven’t come out
(22:59) Nobara: there’s lowkey a line
(23:00) …
(23:00) Fuck.
(23:01) I’m not okay.
(23:02) Nobara: i gotchu
(23:04) Nobara: run out on my signal
(23:05) What signal?
(23:05) Nobara: ull kno
A few seconds later, he hears Nobara’s voice just outside the bathroom, and she’s loudly announcing, “WOWWW I feel SO YUCKY! Oh NOO!” before making retching noises that are fairly convincing. There’s the sound of people running in panic, and Megumi takes that to be his signal so he quickly darts out of the bathroom to hide in the chaos of the crowd. Megumi watches as Nobara sights him amidst the moving people, shoots him a wink, and then stands up with a cheery, “Oh thank goodness, turns out I didn’t need to puke after all!”
At this moment, Megumi is really, really grateful that he became friends with Nobara Kugisaki. She’s actually not so bad.

SHADOW AND SUKUNA ONCE AGAIN DESTROY CITY BLOCK IN FIREFIGHT (3 min read)
By: Nobara Kugisaki & Megumi Fushiguro - Last updated September 9th, 2018 at 6:53 PM.
Yet another block of civilian infrastructure has been the victim of a violent clash between SHADOW and SUKUNA last night, with several exploding cars being exchanged between the two in a fight that lasted over an hour. Over 15 civilian injuries have been reported, with 4 in critical condition. Pedestrians are advised to use the detours marked on Garfield St. through Chestnut St. until all remaining debris has been cleared. Civilian spectators are reminded to immediately clear the area and contact local police if Sukuna is sighted for their own safety.
Shadow has not responded to our request to comment. Sukuna… (Click Here to Keep Reading!)

After another violent skirmish with Sukuna, filled yet again with the other man’s overly flirtatious taunts, Megumi is returning to his dorm room so late at night that the sun is starting to stretch its rosy fingers out into the sky and the birds are chirping, filling the air with their overlapping songs. He has no idea what he’s going to say to Yuji, but when he enters their dorm room, he finds the other boy’s bed empty, still looking the same as it did when Megumi left.
(Yuji doesn’t exactly ‘make his bed,’ but he does move around his blankets every time he gets on or off his bed, so Megumi can track whether Yuji’s been home by whether the covers have moved. He tries to ignore how creepy it is that he remembers the positioning of his roommates bed linens to ascertain his movements.)
It’s not exactly out of the ordinary for Yuji to have been out late. Ever since the frat party they went to during Homecoming week, he’s been disappearing more often, at odd times of day, and then reappearing with some vague excuse (e.g.’ I was hanging out with my brothers’; or ‘I had a study group’) that could easily be true. Megumi isn’t Yuji’s keeper, or his boyfriend, so it’s not exactly appropriate to police Yuji about his whereabouts.
Especially when Megumi himself is hiding his own plethora of secrets.
What started as an obvious necessity of their roommate arrangement is beginning to feel more and more like a betrayal for Megumi. He hasn’t exactly had that much experience with close friends in the past, after the accident happened and he came under Gojo’s wing he was homeschooled up until now. Megumi is used to being alone. He isn’t used to people being loyal to him like Nobara and Yuji, people who have nothing to gain but his friendship. He isn’t used to feeling guilty like this, but he knows he can’t risk telling his friends that he is the hero they spend so much time reporting on.
His friends. He doesn’t know if what he has with Yuji is friendship, though, exactly. Ever since that frat party when Yuji danced on him, a stupid yet persistent voice in the back of his head has been trying to convince him that Yuji might, maybe, possibly, be into men. He was kissing a man, after all.
And he also danced on Megumi in a way that is difficult to put out of his waking mind, and even more difficult (if not impossible) to avoid thinking about when Megumi is in bed, trying to sleep.
They haven’t talked about it. Really, Megumi isn’t sure what to say (Hey, remember when you danced on me at the frat party and it was super hot but then you were kissing some random guy? So, did it mean anything to you? Yeah, no), or if Yuji wants him to say anything at all, or if Yuji even remembers it happening. If he does, he hasn’t said anything to indicate as such.
Megumi sighs, and changes out of his clothes and into something that he presumably could have slept in, even if it’s a little late for that. Despite his best efforts, his thoughts continue running along in the same hamster wheel that has tortured him since the night of the party. He doesn’t even know for sure if Yuji is gay, or remotely interested in men. What if he just kissed that guy because he was super drunk? What if he doesn’t remember anything, and just thinks of himself as a straight man?
As if his thoughts are capable of summoning the boy in question, before Megumi has the chance to make his bed look as though he’s slept in it, Yuji is walking through the door to their dorm room.
He’s wearing the same clothes as the day before, a simple graphic t-shirt and jeans with his usual messenger bag slung around his chest, but more pressing than his lack of a change of clothes are the few small red marks on his neck that dominate Megumi’s focus. Oh. Alright, then. Megumi can put 2 and 2 together.
Yuji freezes for a moment, eyes slightly sheepish, as if he knows he’s been caught, and he lets out a small laugh. “Well, uh, good morning!” Megumi has always been so weak to Yuji’s smile. It makes him feel warm, like there’s a spotlight trained on him that’s channeling the sun’s rays itself.
Then, Yuji extends his hand outwards, and Megumi takes a deep breath before dapping him up. Successfully. He cheers inwardly, but tries to make it seem like a normal occurrence on the outside, just saying, “Good morning,” and stepping away to let Yuji into their room once their hands fall. Yuji is still trying to incorporate more gestures into their evolving ‘handshake,’ but for now Megumi is content to learn one overly complicated hand motion at a time.
The other boy busies himself with taking off his shoes and setting down his bag, then starts using their dorm coffee pot to brew up a cup as if it’s just a regular morning. Megumi isn’t sure what to say, and just tries to sit at his desk and look busy on schoolwork, especially when he hears the sound of Yuji’s clothes hitting the floor behind him that lets him know Yuji’s changing out of his clothes.
Despite himself, Megumi feels his cheeks get a bit hotter, and he tries rereading the sentence on his computer screen in front of him. He’s doing an assignment for his gen ed in the english major, and the words seem to be swirling around on the page in front of him instead of behaving themselves and sitting in the orderly lines they are supposed to, like they’re taunting him for being so attuned to the sounds of Yuji unzipping his pants, Yuji opening a drawer and pulling out something, Yuji letting out grunt like he’s stretching, Yuji’s footsteps as he walks to their makeshift kitchen area and the slight clink of crockery as he grabs a mug, the sound of Yuji pouring himself some coffee, Yuji, Yuji, Yuji-
“So, what were you up to last night?” The other boy asks him after taking a loud sip of coffee, and Megumi crosses his arms over his chest, forcing himself out of his thoughts to turn and face his roommate, who’s now changed into a casual white t-shirt and basketball shorts and is lounging on top of his desk with a faux-suspicious expression on his face like he was the one who witnessed his roommate’s walk of shame. Megumi feels a flare of irritation rise inside him. Really? Yuji is going there?
“What were you up to?” He shoots back instead of answering. Sure, Megumi had been sneaking around and came home late, but Yuji never even came home at all. The image of Yuji underneath that nameless stranger burns in the back of his mind again against his will. What right does he have to question Megumi? The other boy wouldn’t even notice that something was up if he didn’t also pick up on what Megumi’s bed looked like when he’d actually slept in it (although that fact does make Megumi privately pleased, and a little less guilty about his own overdeveloped library of knowledge about his roommate).
“Fair enough,” Yuji says, smiling easily, like it costs him nothing. “Alright, we’ll both keep our secrets, how ‘bout that?”
A small voice in the back of Megumi’s head wants to say: No, let’s be honest with each other, I’m tired of keeping secrets from you. I want you so badly it hurts sometimes, and I’m Shadow, and you’re in danger the more you stay around me, but also I might be falling in love with you. And I’m terrified that I’m making a massive mistake. And you’re beautiful.
Megumi’s heart makes that traitorous, twisting, lurching motion in his chest, but he just rolls his eyes. “Fine.”

SHADOW’S BAD-BOY LOVE AFFAIR? SUKUNA SUGGESTS AT INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP! (3 min read)
By: Nobara Kugisaki & Yuji Itadori - Last updated September 12th, 2018 at 4:20 PM.
The explosively combative relationship between our city’s newest up-and-coming hero, SHADOW, and his arch-rival, SUKUNA, appears to be fiery for more reason than one: At their last battle, Sukuna was heard taunting the hero, “You want me so bad it makes you look stupid,” to which Shadow was heard shouting back, “You’re the last person on this planet I could ever want!” Could this exchange mean that the violent clashes taking place between Shadow and Sukuna are the result of a prior affair gone cold? Or, are we watching the start of an epic romance story for the ages? Could true love be the answer to saving our city and wiping out the Ryomen gang for good?

🗨 Utahimee: These battles are getting seriously out of hand. I’m not sure that a potential love story is what the media should be focusing on, instead we should be making sure citizens are familiar with safety protocols for potential confrontations with Sukuna.
🗨 Gojo-Sama: @Utahimee: Aw, you sound so terrified!! BP
🗨 Utahimee: @Gojo-Sama: Please stop responding to me on social media. Need I remind you we aren’t friends?

🗨 FushiiguroM: @yourmomshotmouthismyhome: YOU seriously believe in God?
🗨 yourmomshotmouthismyhome: @FushiiguroM: who else do you think made me this freakay?
🗨 MiwaaChan: Wait, if they are in love what would that mean about shadow? Isn’t Sukuna an awful person? Why would Shadow be involved with someone like him? I’m not sure if this really makes sense.
🗨 FushiiguroM: @MiwaaChan: FINALLY. Thank you. For once someone is being intelligent in these comments.
🗨 Utahimee: @MiwaaChan: @FushiiguroM: What do their words mean, then, I wonder? I do agree with the article that it seems they have a history at least.
🗨 Gojo-Sama: @Utahimee: What happened to ‘’I’m not sure that a potential love story is what the media should be focusing on” hmmmmm ?????
🗨 mechman: Does anyone know what Shadow’s abilities actually are?
🗨 FushiiguroM: @mechman: JUFP has never received an official comment from Shadow himself, but he appears to be a sorcerer of some kind.
🗨 Itadorikun: @FushiguroM: so like a wizard?? Harry Potter?
🗨 FushiiguroM: @Itadorikun: No. Wizards harness magical abilities by studying grimoires and using incantations and spells. Sorcerers have an innate magical ability that is unique to the bearer, and they usually have some form of specialized technique to harness their magical abilities.
🗨 mechman: @FushiiguroM: Is that the same as a warlock?
🗨 FushiiguroM: @mechman: No. Warlocks achieve magical abilities through making a trade with some entity, usually a fey-like creature or demon. Their abilities stem from their agreement with the entity, not their own innate power.
🗨 MiwaaChan: @FushiiguroM: i thought a warlock was just a male witch?
🗨 FushiiguroM: @MiwaaChan: People use the terms that way, but witches typically practice folk or ritualistic magic. The whole ‘deal with the devil’ thing and witches is (in most cases) propaganda. On the other hand, by definition warlocks only obtain their power through making a transactional contract with a powerful entity. Witches typically worship entities or consider themselves their servants rather than making bargains with them, but it’s not unheard of.
🗨 Kugisakii: @FushiiguroM: so what about necromancers?
🗨 FushiiguroM: @Kugisakii: necromancy is the field of magic involving death, but it can be wielded by any magic user. It’s not specific to any one type, so all of the magic users could also potentially be ‘necromancers.’
🗨 Itadorikun: @FushiguroM: okay what about Mage? That’s what they call frieren so what is she?
🗨 FushiiguroM: @Itadorikun: 1. Mage is an all encompassing term for magic casters (so it applies to all of the above); 2. Frieren is an elf. She’s also fictional.
🗨 Itadorikun: @FushiguroM: youre so smart fushiguro1!
🗨 Kugisakii: @Itadorikun: oooooh you made him blush hahahahahahaha
