Chapter Text

Okay this is going to read like a post and not a chapter lol but here is my/Abolish’s plan to take out the rest of the town and go home

First of all he has to convince Owen to turn him. Which. I don’t think would be too difficult because it’s not that Owen didn’t Want to turn people he just never got the chance to (until. Y’know. Our lovely doctor but that doesn’t count) so.

Abolish makes his way back to the castle unimpeded (besides Scott and Shelby trying to make annoying conversation but he holds off of doing anything he might regret). Owen is there, he and Pyro are kind of interrogating kind of talking to Apo who iirc just got “kicked out of town”.

Abolish walks in straight to Owen, who’s very on edge but not shocked since Scott had explained his plan somewhat to the core four, although Owen is kind of freaked out because if Abolish is here then he should be turned already and on their side but now he looks like he’s killed a man and is walking straight to Owen.

Pyro’s also a bit unnerved but Apo. Apo is having a ‘Wtf are you doing why are you here’ moment while still pretending to be on the vampires side so she’s just in the background freaking out as this is happening.

Scott’s trying to explain what’s happening, Abolish stops in front of Owen, pulls his attention to say “You’re turning me. Let’s go.” And drags Owen along behind him to the ballroom. Owen is too confused to really fight it but figures out pretty quickly that ‘Okay he Hasn’t been turned yet and is asking me to do it. Okay yeah I can do that normally because my only experience with turning is totally not that my dead lover did it passionately and softly in the house we were to live in for eternity, definitely yeah.’

But Abolish won’t give him the grace of figuring That thought process out and instead just offers his wrist and waits. Owen, who hasn’t eaten anything but a bite from Pyro this entire time, and had agreed to the plan earlier, takes the bait.

The turning is successful. From the other room Apo’s exclamations get a lot louder.

This is where we enter the weird headcanon because the only way this plan works is if Owen’s turning sleep he mentioned in his POV is canon. My added headcanon is that the message that goes out that leads to the newly turned, doesn’t show up until the turn is complete, aka after the fledgling wakes up. Abolish sleeps for a day or two meanwhile the vampires play normal and tell Apo that she can’t tell the town because she’s on their side. They watch her very closely.

Now from this point Abolish has to do some Major strategizing. All of the vampires now know that there’s a new one in their midst even the ones in town right now (Avid, Drift, Cleo) and if any of them know even the slightest bit of what they’re doing (which is not very much) they’ll realize that Abolish went off on his own days ago and now someone’s been turned. Which means these three might be on their way to the castle right now.

Avid and Drift he’s less concerned about and he re-enters the grand hall to give the coven instructions (which Scott bemoans because Abolish isn’t giving him his reasoning just telling him what to do and he does not take kindly to that). Abolish hasn’t burned down the forest yet or killed Shelby so he doesn’t have that much credit to his name, and it takes a little growling match to get Scott to listen (which Abolish wins because Scott thinks ‘ah fledgling = baby therefore scared of big growl but little does he know Abolish has been trained to ignore that stuff and can do it back just as well)

Basic instructions are: “Stay out of my way, keep all the vampires in the castle including Avid and Drift when they get here. If they don’t arrive go find them discreetly and get them here. Don’t let Apo leave either.”

Apo is off with Shelby working on their rooms by this point. With all of the vampires on side she probably will not leave the crypt until this is all over. (I believe wholeheartedly in Apo but if she had to make a successful plan where she Avid and Drift had to fight their way out of the crypt against All the other vampires I don’t know how well that would work. For the fics sake she’s getting put in time out lol but there’s definitely another world where those three find the secret exit tunnel and go create Problems for Abolish.)

Abolish doesn’t tell them what he’s planning on doing out there just that he’ll make sure that they (he) can get out.

Then he asks for Owen to attack him. Everyone (Scott Owen and Pyro right now) is immediately like whoa what? And Abolish annoyedly explains that he’s going to play that he got turned unwillingly he needs to look the part. He asks Scott to pretend that Scott turned Abolish to Cleo when she shows up at the castle.

He asks Owen because Scott and Pyro will have too much fun if he lets them do it. So semi bleeding and battered (a normal amount not anything life threatening) he bats away to go find Cleo.

And he makes a show of it. Finds it in him to go back to how he was at the beginning of the series where he was a bit jumpy and a bit unknowing and scared. He stumbles out of bat form in front of Cleo, all “They got me, I need blood and food.” And Cleo falls for it because why would he lie, he didn’t storm off in front of the town, didn’t seem too unhappy with them to want to ask to get turned so she supplies him and asks who turned him. Abolish says Scott at the castle and she goes to the castle to have a word with him.

Abolish beelines to the town. He stumbles in again, not too much of a scene but goes directly to Pearl saying “I got turned but I fought the one who did it so they’re really low now and I know where they are still. Cleo gave me some blood so I’m good to fight grab your weapons and let’s go.” If anyone asks to come along he says he only wants Pearl because he trusts her monster hunter background.

They book it out of town and Abolish leads her out towards the ruined tower beacon but away from the path so people don’t stumble upon them. Pearl, who has her suspicions but ultimately believes Abolish, gets Almost taken by surprise when he jumps her. She’s prepared for a fight but not from him, and the fact that He’s the one attacking her is enough to give Abolish the upper hand, plus the fact that he is not playing around anymore and is not holding punches.

She takes enough blood out of him that he doesn’t change to level two when he turns her. He leaves her in a ditch in the woods to turn. Is he going to have a hell of a time breaking fledgling sire bonds when he’s done with this? Unfortunately yes.

He heads back to town, beat up again still. He gathers more people, the militia and Legs, says that the vampires aren’t stopping with him, they’ve turned Pearl. “I fought Pyro off and hid her out behind the castle, she’s safe. But we need to get Pearl back and Pyro’s been a thorn in our side from the beginning; I’ve definitely got him low enough to kill him.”

The militia agree because they’re horrified that Pearl’s been turned but Legs is skeptical of killing Pyro. Abolish, backed by the militia, points out everything Pyro has done against them, claiming he’s too far gone especially if he actually turned Pearl. Legs trusts Abolish. Avid joins this convo halfway through (he’s been clinging to staying in town and the vampires haven’t gotten him to the castle yet. Drift arrived very soon after Abolish was turned and is hanging at the castle with Shelby) and Abolish politely as he can turns down any of Avid’s ideas saying Avid needs to stay in town with Legs to protect the town because “we need at least two Humans to protect the beacon. Cleo unfortunately doesn’t count.” That gets Avid to shut up cause he’s Not human and can’t say otherwise so he and Legs stay in town together.

Abolish leads Martyn, Ren and Sausage out to find Pyro. As they’re leaving they stumble into Cleo who Abolish brings off to the side to relay the news about Pearl. Cleo is furious that the vampires turned him and that Pyro turned her Pearl and Abolish has to heavily talk her down from it saying that they need to go find Pearl and watch her turning sleep so the vampires don’t try anything else with Pearl. Cleo agrees begrudgingly as the militia chime in that they will kill Pyro for her. Abolish tells her the actual location that he turned Pearl in away from the militia and sends her off.

He leads the militia to the opposite side of the map that Pearl is on. At one point when they’re pretty far out he tells them that they should split up to cover more ground and goes out with Sausage while Martyn and Ren head in a different direction.

Once they’re far enough away Abolish plays his part of ‘oh I’m just a baby vampire and I’m really hungry and don’t you want to be turned Sausage you’ve always wanted to be turned you can help both of us’ and even if Sausage doesn’t agree to be turned he’ll most likely agree to being drank from and Abolish just doesn’t stop and turns him out there.

He then loops back around to find Martyn and Ren. Now this is the most challenging pair because they are fairly competent fighters but Abolish knows a lot of their weaknesses after watching them fight on their side. It’s not an easy fight, but with Sausage’s blood in Abolish’s system it is a fight that he wins. He leaves all three of them out there and heads back to town.

Martyn and Ren got him to the edge of level 2 and on his way back he kills some animals and is able to get to level 3 by the time he hits town.

It is quiet. Way too quiet. Abolish sighs in something of relief. Almost everyone should be accounted for: Scott, Owen, Pyro, Shelby, Apo, and Drift should all be in and around the castle. Cleo is with Pearl and Abolish hasn’t seen them since he sent them off. Pearl’s turning sleep should last another day which is plenty of time for him to do what he needs to do. Martyn, Ren and Sausage are all out in the dead woods, asleep. Avid should be in town or in the castle by now and Legs should be here.

His basic plan was to take out Pearl first, take the fighter out first, then Sausage who was always amenable to the idea of being a vampire, before Ren and Martyn who were going to go down with a fight. Abolish also couldn’t turn Ren and Martyn before Sausage because then Sausage would be appalled that Abolish turned his brothers in arms.

All that’s left is Legs, who had placed his trust in Abolish. A mistake.

Abolish walks into town and the forest is silent. Avid spots him from the top of the beacon tower, shouting vampire and Legs groggily pokes his head out from behind the beacon’s doors that Abolish had fortified.

A slight miscalculation. At level three Abolish cannot enter the beacon tower. He stops at a distance from the entrance.

“Abolish,” Legs asks, a warning in his tone. “Where’s the militia.”

“I couldn’t stop them,” Abolish replies, bluntly, no facade.

Legs narrows his good eye. Abolish has a first row seat as the Doc’s face wavers between what he knows is true and what he wants to believe.

“Avid,” Abolish calls. “Bring the Doc out to me.”

Avid is a low enough level to bypass the silver baked into every crevice and every cranny. He stares at Abolish from his perch up above. Dumbfounded.

Abolish sighs heavily and gestures to solidify his statement.

Legs has retreated into the structure, a quiet wall of “no, no, no,” echoing from its base.

“I thought your feud with the Doctor was more potent than this.”

Avid starts to protest then realizes what Abolish is implying. Abolish drives in the final nail by saying, “If you do this then we will all make it out of here.”

Avid starts his way down the tower, and his level 1 strength is a close match for Legundo’s war scarred muscles. Abolish closes the distance, hissing lowly against the distant burning of the silver but Avid manages to get Legundo outside of the tower and into Abolish’s claws.

“If it’s any consolation Doc,” Abolish sighs as Legundo thrashes and begs in his grasp. “Your medical prowess is no longer needed. Everyone here is undead. You are of no use anymore.”

Legundo hesitates at those words long enough for Abolish to drive his teeth in. It is the taste of a bittersweet victory. Something a long time coming. Abolish has no remorse for what he’s done, and honestly thinks this is the most humane way he could have done this. He could’ve just killed everyone but that would’ve been a lot of paperwork. More paperwork than what he’d actually done, and the taste of Legs’s blood is tainted by the realization that getting himself this involved is going to have a ton a consequences, but not anything he couldn’t handle. Just a couple more annoyances to squash out.

As he’s thinking this there’s a piercing howl behind him, and something heavy slams into his back.

He clamps his jaw around the doctor’s throat, who lets out a weakly pained noise as Cleo’s talons grip into his forearm, trying to desperately yank him away from Abolish.

Abolish lets their rage blind them and tears Legs away himself, dragging the man’s weak body across the ground with his teeth. He moves back with Legs like a dog’s chew toy, which is incredibly ironic as Pearl slinks up behind Cleo fully a werewolf in the moonlight.

Ah. Wonderful. (Pearl’s werewolf blood has shortened the turning sleep. Another miscalculation)

Cleo is Fucking Pissed that Abolish a) Lied about literally everything (hypocritical much but also kinda valid lol) b) Turned Pearl and c) Is trying to turn Legs after he explicitly said he didn’t want to be turned.

Abolish listens to their entire rant as he continues to drain Legs, then as Cleo and Pearl start to try and get Legs away again, Abolish unlatches to point out that Legs will die of bloodloss if he doesn’t turn him at this point anyway. Plus the fact that Legs is no longer useful to the town and he’s done his duty. That kind of takes the fight out of Cleo but they still are trying to get Legs away. Abolish just uses the Doc as a human shield when they try to attack him.

Avid is watching with a bucket of popcorn on the sidelines (not really because yknow they don’t have that but whatever he’s enjoying watching Legs bleed to death)

Abolish finally turns Legs and drops him and I think Cleo goes to hold Legs while Pearl continues after Abolish, who has to swiftly convince Pearl that this was the best option and that now they can all leave again. Pearl is having none of that and uses him as a chew toy for a bit as revenge which leaves him at low level two but alive and he gets himself out of her grasp and bats to the castle.

He then gathers the castle vampires that will listen to go and turn all the beacons, while avoiding a very pissed off werewolf, but they manage to do it and Abolish sneaks off to FINALLY go and build a grave for his parents. And gather the cure books from Legs’s house. Sneaking around town while Cleo is still there with Legs is a nightmare but he manages.

He bats away to his meeting point with the organization and promptly collapses in the carriage at the thought of how many sire fledgling bonds he’s going to have to break, how many vengeful vampires he’s going to have on his tail, and most importantly how much paperwork he’s going to have to do in the wake of this.

Okay so that was actually like a whole chapter just not in proper formatting, and I was worried it was going to be something really boring and repetitive but that actually did sound like something I could’ve fully fleshed out lol. Oh well, I do not really have the time to fully flesh it out so I hope this suffices!

Thank you for joining me on Abolish Veylockes In and creates Many Enemies :3

Notes:

I was watching Pyro’s stream and I think it was Shelby who mentioned that at the end of session five Scott contacted Abolish outside of the session (or said he wanted to but I think he did) and asked him if he would consider joining the vampires side. Abolish denied it but considered it for a moment.

As for the end of this story I doubt I’ll get to writing it since it would be five million years of Abolish leads someone somewhere. Abolish turns them. Abolish leaves. Abolish leads someone somewhere. Abolish turns them. ad infinitum.
BUT I do have thoughts on how he would go about getting Owen to turn him and getting out of Oakhurst (it includes a lot of strategy and disregard for other’s emotions) so let me know if y’all would enjoy an unofficial second chapter roughly detailing Abolish’s plan (cause I did plan it! I just can’t use it because I don’t have that much time and it would probably get boring lol)
