Chapter Text
Intern stepped into Security’s home. It was clear he hadn’t been expecting any visitors any time soon. It was a mess.
In fact, a mess didn’t even start to explain it, their was empty chip bags all over the floor, and other boxes from takeout places Intern hadn’t seen before. The couch had tears all over it and the Kitchen wasn’t much better.
It wasn’t sanitary in the slightest, the Intern didn’t even want to keep analyzing the place, but funnily enough, the area around the coffee maker just so happened to be spotless.
They were still taking in the sights before a hand whacked the back of their head.
”Hey! I know that look, I wasn’t expecting to be bringing someone home today, if I knew this place would be spotless.”
”Think you can manage a deep cleaning before work?”
”Hey, I’m taking you into my house, be grateful.”
Intern sighed, he was right, he should be grateful he didn’t have to work himself to the bone until secretary came back. That only allowed him slight naps between the time Secretary came for his shifts, and he didn’t stick around for long.
”Alright, wheres the beds then?” The Intern asked.
”Beds?”
”Yeah. The beds.”
”You must mean the Bed.”
The Intern froze, “what do you mean bed. Wheres the plural.”
”If i didn’t expect visitors why in gods name would i have two beds, your sleeping with me kid.”
“Stop calling me kid, I’m like 20.” Intern scoffed before realizing what he really said.
”What!” The Intern shook his head, “I’m not sleeping in the same bed as you!”
”Wanna sleep on the floor? I promise you it’ll be clean.” Security offered, his voice laced with sarcasm. The Intern let out a defeated sigh. They already came this far, might as well.
“Fine, whatever, I hope you aren’t musty.”
”Yeah, I’ll go take a shower then.” The Security sighed and walked off into the bathroom.
The Intern lied on the bed, fully clothed ofcourse, they didn’t even know if it was safe to be here, for all they knew this was some cruel trap.
The Intern cursed to himself. Why on earth did he tell the Security? He didn’t know the guy and yet he basically told him everything about his out of work life. Which wasn’t much.
They sighed and rolled over. They were already dozing off a bit, sleeping in a bed was far better than in the carpet floor of the check in room. The doctor was generous enough to let them sleep in the hospital. But he didn’t allow them to even touch one if the beds with the intention to nap.
They shut their eyes as they heard the shower water shut off, praying for sleep to come quickly. But it didn’t. It only got farther away as he felt the room get slightly warmer as the shower door opened. Steam billowing out.
Security let out a deep sigh, “I needed that, now to get me some beer.” He walked off into a different room and a few minutes later came back with a empty wine glass and some shorts on and approached the bed.
”Woah. Stop right there.” Intern immediately held out a hand.
“What?”
”Put a shirt on.”
Security rolled his eyes, “Seriously? It’s my bed.”
”And I’m in it.”
”Still my bed.”
”Dude.”
”Fine.”
He came back with a black t shirt.
“There. Happy?”
”Glad.”
Security mumbled something about ungrateful kids as he got into the bed, lying right in the middle.
”…it’s like a sleepover.” Security whispered.
”Let me sleep man.”
”If you had to pick one of the nurses, who would you say is prettier.”
”What!?” The Intern immediately shot up in the bed, “what are you talking about?”
”Relax, I’m kidding, just trying to lighten up the mood a bit.”
Intern sighed, “I’m just really tired…”
”Alright, I’ll stop disturbing your beauty sleep.” Security finally relented.
”Are you saying I’m beautiful?”
The Security glared at them in the dark.
”Alright jeez, I was just joking.”
“Goodnight.” Security mumbled as he turned over.
“Yeah same to you.”
It was around 5AM when Intern woke up, feeling a big burly and furry Security hugging their back.
The Intern didn’t really move at all at first, the embrace was somewhat comforting. But then it clicked for them.
”What in the hell are you doing.”
Security obviously didn’t answer, snoring heavily into the Interns nape. The Intern shuddered as his breath hit the back of their neck. If they woke him up, they were a bit scared that he would never consider letting him sleep over again.
As annoying as he was, he was the only one that even noticed the Intern’s long shifts. Well the Head Nurse definitely did, but she never questioned it.
”Are you seriously gonna snore on me like that all night.”
Again, no answer, Intern felt ridiculous for even asking. But the longer they sat in his embrace, the more they settled into it. They could already feel their eyelids growing heavy again. They wanted to fight off sleep, but the rising and falling the Security’s chest o their back somewhat lulled them to sleep.
”I can’t believe this.” They muttered as their eyes closed.
They supposed they could humor this. Just this once.
