That day had been long; night had already fallen as they approached Ramshackle. A few stumbles in the cafeteria, too many students awkwardly crowding around to ask for directions—the usual chaos of the first few weeks.
It was a little annoying how, in the first few weeks, the new arrivals tried to challenge the Housewardens' authority, which usually caused a commotion, quite a bit of disorder, and more than one student in the infirmary.
The stars were rising in the sky.
They were beautiful. Yuu barely noticed the differences between these stars and the stars of their old home.
Would there be any difference?
Would their family see the same starry sky as they did, or had they already forgotten the celestial bodies painted on the canvas of the night?
They noticed green sparks around him, like small fireflies, green like the bushes of Heartslabyul. They were pretty. Could they be magical—
“Um? You’re here again?” Yuu heared a voice, the voice of the stranger from last week.
“Good night—” They paused for a moment. “—Tsunotaro.”
Tsunotaro remained silent.
“Tsuno-taro? You… You mean me?” He seemed surprised.
Yuu nodded. “You didn’t tell me your name.”
Tsunotaro smiled smugly, chuckling as he spoke.
“You have no sense of fear, do you?” It didn’t sound threatening. “I gave you permission to do this, so it’s fine.”
“Have you visited the mine yet?” Yuu asked, looking up at the stars again.
“Yes, it was an interesting visit.”
“Great…”
There was silence.
“Shouldn’t you go to sleep? Some of the Housewardens are rather strict about curfew; you could end up in detention.”
“I don’t think he’ll care.”
“With the chaos of the first few weeks; yes, he will care.”
Tsunotaro chuckled.
Yuu sighed. “The first few weeks of class are always chaotic.”
“I noticed. How’s the situation?”
“A couple of Savanaclaw challengers are currently in the infirmary.”
Tsunotaro nodded.
There was silence again.
“So, how’s the situation at Diasomnia?” the shorter one asked. “I heard the Housewarden is going to hand over the position to another student.”
“You heard right.”
Yuu nodded.
The conversation was over. Yuu walked toward the path to Ramshackle’s door.
“Good night, Tsunotaro.”
Tsunaro nodded. “Good night, No-Ghost.”
Yuu entered the haunted mansion.
