Chapter Text
As Jason and Roy left the bat-cave/wayne manor, they grappled away to a rooftop, it was late.
They didn't know the exact time, but they guessed it was around 2:20 in the morning.
As they landed,they felt the cold air touch their skin, it was very cold.
Lian sneezed that adorable baby sneeze that sounded like a kitten, which would be expected from an eight-month old.
"Bless you" Jason said glancing down at Lian.
Lian not understanding a word, just looked up, because she noticed her dada was looking at her, so she looked back.
Roy, spinning the grappling hook in his hand, mutters "Sooo am i on couch probation, because i talked, which you talked way more than me by the way, jay."
Jason pretending to think mutters "maybe, maybe not." he shrugged.
Roy stops spinning his grapple, nods and hums "mhm" then Roy remembers something and adds "also your putting her to bed all alone," Jason opens his mouth to protest but Roy just lifted one finger "dont try arguing with me, sweetheart you brought our eight-month old on a mission, your punishment is to put her in bed, i might help, only because she's exhausted, but i wont be helping you."
Jason mutters, voice frustrated "so unfair."
"I do not care that you think its unfair."
"Well you should."
"No, now come on lets keep going."
Roy grapples to a different rooftop, As Jason follows.
They got home around half an hour later, Lian had been crying for the past hour, she is extremely tired, Jason tried putting a pacifier in her mouth she refused and spit it out.
They just got their shoes off, Jason got his helmet off, while Lian was crying, Jason didn't even take his gear, jacket, or carrier off, he just took Lian out of the carrier and is walking around with her, Roy is making a bottle for Lian, his bow and arrow bag are on the counter, other gear still on."
"IS THE BOTTLE ALMOST DONE, HARPER!" Jason yelled loud enough for it to hurt Roy's ears, but soft, and low enough to not wake the neighbours up, But that yell startled Lian and made her cry more."
Roy was surprised how the neighbours didn't come to complain, but thinking about it, the neighbours are definitely scared of Jason, so thats why there not complaining.
Roy then answered "The bottle is almost done darling."
Jason rolls his eyes walking around the couch as Lian continues crying, her little face all scrunched up and teary Jason tries speaking some Spanish "Shh, todo va a estar bien, princesa."
(Translate:shh, its all gonna be alright princess.)
After a minute, Roy came back holding the bottle of milk, he had put a test on his arm to make sure it wasn't too hot, before handing it to Jason. Who put it in Lian mouth, to which Lian sucked, and drank the whole thing in 4 minutes.
Jason handed the empty bottle of milk back to Roy as he continued walking around the house and patting Lian back
Roy had left to the kitchen to put the dirty bottle in the sink
"BRRPP." Lian had burped, and her eyes were slowly closing.
Even after Lian burped, Jason kept patting her back.
After what felt like half an hour Lian was finally asleep in Jason arms, Jason refused to let go of her,he refused to put her in her crib, she just looked so small and cute and Jason heart was melting, Jason the so-called "angry" batfamily member looked so soft, his grip barely existing trying not to squeeze his daughter...his and Roy's daughter.
Roy is sitting on the couch scrolling on his phone, glancing up at Jason and Lian from time to time, he had been useless almost the entire time, he helped a bit, but like he said earlier, he was-and did- make Jason do mostly everything.
Roy murmurs, looking up at Jason "She's asleep you could put her in the crib." His voice was soft, low and quiet to not wake Lian up.
Jason answered "i could," his voice matched Roy "but i wont."
Roy is looking at Jason and then Lian, he just cant believe that this is the life he and Jason build, this family, their family, he loves Jason and Lian so much he'd pick them always, over anything.
Roy reaches for Lian, Jason doesn't let go of Lian but doesn't back away, Roy takes Lian from Jason arms, his grip gentle but firm to make sure the sleeping, wiggling baby doesn't fall.
Roy kisses the top of Lian head. " I'll go put her in the crib." Roy murmured.
Roy walked away before Jason could say a word.
As Roy got to the hallway, Jason came along, he threw one arm around Roy shoulders, and rested his chin on Roy's left shoulder.
Roy asks voice low, gentle and with a hint of tiredness "you tired, princess?"
Jason hums "mhm" his fingers gripping Roy bare bicep's.
Roy paused in the hallway, he turned to face Jason face, Jason looked tired and incredibly beautiful, Roy cupped Jason cheek lifted Jason head up, and kissed Jason on his tired lips, it was a small peck, Roy pulled back and murmured "go take a shower and go to bed ill put this little one asleep and join you, promise, princess."
Jason nods and kisses Roy neck before leaving to the bathroom.
