Chapter Text
"How will your parents take it..?" Akito hated that question the most; he'd rather not think about it. He was just planning to keep this a secret in front of them until they die, or something. But alas, he has to tell them someday, or else he'll die before them.
"I don't know. They dont want my hair short, so it's already a bad sign. And one day I did ask them about transgender and members in general, my dad...called them mentally ill and stupid." Akito rambled, blinking just a little faster so no tears can slip.
"I'm...sorry." Toya hesitated, he didnt really know what to do. He hesitated to touch him, wondering whether it would be the best thing to do in this situation. Short circuiting---he just hugged him, and Akito hugged back faster than he could blink.
"I just...don't know what to do...I want to tell them but I don't but if I don't I feel like exploding and dying inside I hate it..! Telling them would probably just cause me more pain than-"
"Stop. You're going to decline more if you think like this. Try to be more positive." As he was comforting the now crying ginger, he was thinking. Aki wasn't one to cry, and it hurt Toya more than anything really. He never let his emotions free.
What if...would it even work? What would father say anyways? He doesn't like Aki regardless...
"Shit---sorry man...I ruined your cardigan." Akito rubbed his eyes harshly before grabbing handkerchief and trying to dry off his clothes the best he could.
"You don't have to do that." He pushed the handkerchief away and just sighed. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?' In Toya's mind, an impulse flashed through him: the image of him kissing Akito briefly on the cheek...what the hell? No, he didn't like Akito like that...Definitely.
As Toya was walking home, he quickly rehearsed in his mind about how he was going to approach his parents with this potential burden. He decided he was going to ask his mother first---she's very kind anyways.
"I'm home." Toya announces as he takes off his shoes.
"Welcome, Toya." His mother chirps back cheerfully, she was cooking dinner already---it's been that late? Toya quickly scanned the house; his father was most likely at work. Good.
"Hey Mom? I have...a weird question to ask you." He starts off, sitting near the kitchen.
"Oh? Is it about Akiko-chan? She's such a wonderful girl it would make sense-"
"Mom." He quickly cuts her off, a dust of pink visible on him but he quickly washes away that thought. "Its not about that. Hypothetically, if a friend were to stay here because they don't feel safe at home, would you allow that?" He was contemplating adding the fact of being a part of the LBGTQ, but he recalls previous statements of her mother being supportive. Regardless, he was scared for her answer.
"Hm...I'd have to ask your father about this, but personally I would say yes." Toya exhales.
"Thanks Mom." He smiles as her and she smiles back.
The next day, Toya got an answer from his father.
"I honestly don't care, we have space. I mean, as long as they don't distract you from your studies. That's my only restriction." Toya was surprised by his response. But it worried him a little. How would he react when the person Toya was talking about was Akito?
He rushes upstairs to text Aki the good news, but contemplates. It'd be better to tell him in person, and besides they haven't hung out in a while aside from practice and school.
< Aki! Are you able to vistt the park? >
Akito looked at his phone as it buzzed. Damn, Toya texting this eagerly? Toya isn't the type to misspell something, so he was obviously typing fast. He was a little suspicious, there was no practice today, but he replied regardless.
< uh yeah I can ask. what's up? >
< Just come there! It's better if I tell you in person :) >
Huh, alright. When Akito arrived, he was met with a rather usually happy Toya. It was cute, seeming him happy, but he seriously wondered what got him like this? Shit did he get a girl or something...?
"Aki! So, yesterday, I asked my parents a question, so whenever you don't feel safe in your house, or anything related---you can come over and stay!" Akito was speechless. Did Toya go out of his way to even offer this to him and start hugging him (he's seriously doing that a lot lately...). He felt like tearing up again.
"Are you serious? I can't just say yes to an offer like that"
"Yes, but I don't care how ridiculous this sounds. I want to help you. Just let me know immediately if something happens, my room will be waiting." Toya was trying pretty hard to show how serious but giddy he was. He wasn't giddy actually he wasn't even sure, but he's really happy for Akito. Toya just hugged him a little tighter
Damn, does he know Akito likes physical contact? This week has been heaven and hell for him.
"Dude you're so-goddamn Toya.." He chuckles, and finally hugs him back properly.
< toyaa! im gonna tell them >
< Oh my gosh! Good luck ♡ >
< thanks sm aibou ♡ >
Akito took a few deeps breaths before going downstairs.
