“Dreamers dream until they don’t, lost her mind a while ago.”
—“ALICE,” PEGGY
Yuulia wishes for a bomb to detonate in NRC.
But after doing further research in the library, she has come to the conclusion that bombs, and nukes, really wasn’t a thing here.
She thought Deuce was just being dumb..
So what greater plan than to make one herself? DIY and all that. Baby’s first act of terrorism!
You maybe wondering, "Yuulia, you know how to make home made bombs?" And the answer would be hell no. But she had access to the internet!
If Yuulia could accidentally find a video tutorial on how to tie a noose, she can certainly find a DIY on home made bombs! Don't try this at home kids! (Seriously, DON'T.)
Fortunately for her, she came here with her phone.
The bad part is that she didn’t have a charger. And she’s been using it every night.
She was at 10%.
She’s tried borrowing from Deuce and Ace, only to come to the realization that phones were very different here.
She’s tried looking in the Mystery shop. Nope, different chargers.
Fuck you Apple and your stupidass updates, we KNOW what you're doing...
So this was the next best thing.
What dorm did Diamond Hoe—Cater say was the tech savy one again? Ignihyde? What the hell kind of name was that?
In fact, what was with the names of all the dorms at this school? And why were majority of the furries and fairies sorted into one dorm? Speaking of fairies..
She thought back to what happened in the cafeteria.
“—and that’s Diasomnia, the dorm based off of the thorn fairy’s noble spirit,” Cater pointed to a table.
Ace did a double take. “Is that a little kid?”
“Haha, no. He’s in the same class as us, making him a third year. That’s—”
“Lilia. Lilia Vanrouge.”
“What the fuck–“
“AAAAAHH!!“
Everyone jumped at the sight of the appearance of the pink haired diva.
“I see my age interests you?” he mused, his crimson eyes regarding everyone at the table. "As flattering as it is, I regret to inform you that despite my fresh-faced, boy-ish looks, I am far from a child."
"Fresh faced..?"
Goddamn, his voice is deep.
"I implore you all to seek any of us out. We at Diasomnia welcome all."
"Sure doesn't look like it with those two guys over there.." Ace side eyed the Diasomnia table.
"I like your hair," Yuulia complimented, ignoring the conversation altogether because this Lilia guy was giving diva vibes 100%.
God, why did she have to be stuck in an all boys school? Yuulia misses her women.
Lilia turned, squinting at her. “My, how.. intriguing.”
She stared back at him blankly. “Excuse me?"
He waved her off. "Ah, forgive me. You.. reminded me of someone."
He flashed her a fanged grin. "I appreciate the compliment. I was told this color is quite childish when I first got it."
"What? Hot pink is like the cuntiest color you can dye your hair," she replied, ignoring the weird looks she was getting from the rest of the table. Weirdos. This is probably the most normal conversation she's had since she arrived in this fuckass place!
"You know what would also look good with those highlights? Cheeta print," she suggested, making the man raise a brow.
"Oh? Cheeta print hair? I was not aware that was a thing."
"I guess you wouldn't" she shrugged. Right, different world, different standards. Yuulia wondered what the beauty standard was here..
"Well, back where I'm from, it's pretty trendy. That and raccoon tail hair."
"Intriguing.." Lilia trailed off in thought. "Well, excuse me for interrupting your lunch. I enjoyed our conversation, dear. Let's talk more next time!" He patted her head before vanishing into thin air.
Yuulia stared at the now empty space.
"..Lilia's my favorite," she blurted out.
The entire table blanched.
"HUH?!"
Meanwhile, Lilia settled back into his seat. Appearance wise, he seemed as if nothing had happened. Internally though?
How strange, the fae thought. That girl has an air of.. death to her. The kind that creeps upon you slowly. Almost like..
Lilia casually slipped the tray of food away before Silver’s head made contact with the table.
THUD!
Ah, but..
“SILVER, DO NOT—“
The older glanced back across the cafeteria, taking note of the small bits of rose vine crawling up the blonde’s shoes.
..Magicless, hm?
Yeah, so she was going to Ignihyde in hopes they might have one.
And also because she didn’t want to go chestnut picking with the trio of dumbasses
Yes, she DID leave Grim in the dust again. Little shit deserves it for making her run around the whole day.
The audacity of that flying rat to break into this school demanding enrollment just to attempt to skip classes on his first day.
Ungrateful little shit. If you can’t put in the work, why are you here?
You may think Yuulia was being too harsh, too mean, to everyone in this fuckass school.
But that’s the thing about Yuulia Rosenberg: she had zero fucks to give.
Why should she care for people who clearly don’t care for her? Why should she play nice to people who think they’re entitled to her time?
She didn’t ask to be here. To be dropped off in a weirdass dimension that worshipped disney villains. To deal with BDSM teachers (because what the FUCK is Professor Crewel).
She didn’t ask to be treated the way she was. To basically rebuild her life off of nothing. She didn’t ask to be alive.
..It's whatever. When she's done with all this, she's going to take a big fat nap, and no one was going to interrupt her this time. She'll make sure of it.
Yuulia had to take a hot minute the second she stepped out of the mirror and into Ignihyde.
How rich is this damn school??
She walked down the path, staring up at the hugeass skeletons.
Ngl, this is kinda badass..
"Hey," she called out to one of the skeletons. "Can you talk?"
Silence.
"Damn okay, fuck me I guess."
She continued on, making her way inside.
The dorm was as cool as it was inside. Though, Yuulia didn't know where the hell she was going. Or where everyone else was at.
"Hello!" a sudden voice brought her out of her stupor.
A few feet away from her, floated a.. robot? With blue flaming hair.
Different world, she tried to remind herself. She's just gonna ignore that for now..
"Oh, uh, hi. Do you live here?"
His eyes scanned her. Hm.. what an odd reading. It's very faint, not like big brother's..
"Yes! Do you need any assistance?" he floated closer.
"Yeah, I do. I heard you guys specialize in tech. Do you think you have a charger for this? It's fine if you don't." She brought out her phone to show him.
"I'm Yuulia by the way," she introduced. "What's your name?"
"Call me Ortho!" he beamed at the question.
"Nice to meet you, Ortho," she offered a polite smile.
He took the device in his hands, tilting it to look at the charging port.
"What company is this? I've never seen this model before!"
"You probably wouldn't know it. It's.. a local brand from where I'm from," she settled with that answer.
Ortho nodded in understanding. "I believe big brother has something that can work with this. Please, follow me!"
"Thank you, Ortho."
Contrary to popular belief, Yuulia was very much capable of being polite and civil. It's just that none of these fuckers earned the right. This kid's the nicest anyone's treated her in this damn school, besides Lilia.
They walked down a series of hallways before stopping.
Ortho knocked on the door. "Big brother, we're coming in!"
There was a loud crash coming from the other side. "Wait, ORTHO, I didn't say bring her HERE--" a voice cried.
Too late, the door opened, with Ortho leading her inside as if everything was fine and dandy.
Yuulia glanced around the room briefly. It was kinda nice. Though, she wasn't sure what the hell that.. tube thing was.
"I can wait outside if you want--" she started, just for Ortho to interrupt.
"It's okay! Big brother doesn't mind!" He went over to the guy hunched on a gaming chair, looking like he'd want to be anywhere but here.
"Brother, look! Isn't this model interesting?" Ortho held the phone out to him before turning to look through one of the boxes lying around.
The older, who she would later learn was named Idia, took it, inspecting it in his hands. "..You're right. If I had to take a guess, I would say it's similar to one of Olympus corp.'s OG models."
He powered it on to be met with the lockscreen.
Yuulia's wallpaper was a picture of her and her sister one Halloween.
They were so little at the time. Ocean was dressed as a little pumpkin. But she wasn't just any pumpkin. She was the pumpkin president. That distinction was very important, if the little tie wasn't an indicator enough.
Yuulia's Aurora costume that year had been all homemade. Something about their parents not wanting to buy into the capitalist conglomerate that was disney (just wait until they find out where she got transported).
So yeah, homemade costume that year. It looked shit, but she and Ocean worked really hard with what they had, so she wasn't all that mad about it.
"Uh, hey," Idia called out to her awkwardly. "Can you unlock it? I want to see how it works."
She went over, taking it from him real quick to unlock it.
♪ “Oh, shenandoah.. I long to see you. Away, you rollin’ river—“ ♪
”Crap,” she scrambled to lower the volume. She forgot she was listening to that earlier. “Sorry. Shit’s so loud–“
Ortho came back from his searching, holding up a few chords. “What language is that?”
Yuulia's brows furrowed. "English??”
“No results show for this "English" you speak of.” This little guy has a built in search engine?
“You mean the language we’re speaking right NOW?” Yuulia was going to have a stroke at this point.
“Is that what you call Common where you're from?” Idia chimed in, looking just as lost as her.
“The hell is Common? That sounds like a Minecraft thing.”
“What does Common have to do with Minecraft?”
"WHAT. Why does Minecraft exist but not English?!" Yuulia was getting tired of this world and its fuckery.
He threw his hands up. “How am I supposed to know?!”
“Next you’re gonna tell me OF exists here too.”
He avoided her eyes.
Are we deadass rn..
“GEH—"Idia shrieked when he finally looked back at her. "Why’re you looking at me like I have anything to do with it?!”
“You seem like a gooner.”
“WHAT.” the tips of his hair flared a faint pink.
Yuulia blinked in surprise. Pretty. “Does your hair do that with every emotion?”
“DON’T IGNORE ME!” Yeahh, she's gonna keep ignoring him
“You probably watch hentai instead of OF, considering you're an Otaku and all."
“TH—THATS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!” he shrieked again, pointing at her. “Besides, HOW does a normie like you know about hentai!” Was that not mainstream here??
“I grew up in a small town with unrestricted internet access and had to stay inside for a year or two with little to nothing to entertain myself with. I know what hentai is.” The pandemic was certainly a time in her life she’d like to ignore.
"..where did you say you were from again?" he asked weakly.
"You wouldn't know it. I'm from a different world, actually."
. . .
"WHAAAT?!"
This guy has crazy lungs..
Yuulia didn't know how long she'd been working before she finished.
"At last.. my creation.."
She held up her masterpiece to the light like it was the holy grail.
Did she go overboard with how much she made? No. One can never go overboard when it comes to making bombs.
Well, glitter bombs, for now. She had to test these out first before she moves onto the real thing. If she's going to cause problems, she's going to cause problems right.
"Pup, what are you doing here?" Yuulia almost screamed at the sudden voice, fumbling to catch the glitter bomb.
But before it could hit the ground, it glowed a faint yellow, levitating as it made its way towards Professor Crewel, who stood in the doorway of the science lab.
The man inspected her handiwork with a keen eye. "Hmm.. Glitter bombs? Not bad for your first attempt. Though, there are better methods you can utilize for maximum effect."
She paused. "Wait, what?"
He turned, beckoning her to follow. "Come, I will show you."
Well, Yuulia wasn't gonna turn down a free lesson.
When Yuulia pulled up at Ramshackle, it felt like reality slapped her in the face.
"What the hell are you doing here?" she asked once she walked through the door.
Ace and Deuce were chilling in the living room while Grim, the shit, snored away on a pillow on the couch.
"Wow. Is that how you greet all your guests?" Ace looked up from his doomscrolling.
"You aren't guests. You're intruders," she stated bluntly.
Yuulia can already feel the headache coming back..
"C'mon! At least let me sleep INSIDE this time!" he begged.
She turned towards Deuce, who straightened up immediately.
"I'm guessing you're staying the night too?" she was getting tired just being around them.
He nodded. Great.
"Well, if you're gonna sleep here, you're sleeping in the living room. Dumbass number two is the most tolerable between you two, so he's in charge."
"What?! I was here first--""Shut up."
Was all Yuulia said before pink light encased the room. And like that, the two boys were conked out.
She watched as the rose petals danced lazily above their heads with a blank stare.
I can't keep doing this.
