Smells Like Teen Spirit

Chapter 2

Notes:

I'm sorry this took so long! The day after I decided to post my fic, I was consecutively hit with incredibly horrible luck! And on top of that, I was plagued with a busy work schedule that left me swamped. I really would of had this out sooner had all that not happened >_<

But now that it's here let me just say how incredibly thankful I am for your support! I had only asked for 15 kudos cause I wasn't expecting the fic to perform super well, but you all have blown my expectations out of the water! It's seriously encouraging to see people still enjoy my writing and I've found it in myself to write even more. So, once again, thank you! This short and sweet bonus chapter isn't enough to truly encapsulate my gratefulness, but please enjoy!

Chapter Text

It's night-time at the Holiday residence, when all was quiet through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a— ...well for Noelle's sake I hope there wasn't a mouse.

But so late into the night, Noelle herself was still awake; sipping away at a glass of chocolate milk that had no else to take them in while staring out from her bedroom window. A part of her was waiting for another miracle like earlier. Another unexpected visit from Kris, even if it's more unrealistic for them to visit this late...

She watched the road cutting out from the trees to her house and imagined Kris appearing. Under the veil of twilight, their presence would shine, and Noelle herself would stare mystified. The front door would magically unlock for them as they waltz inside, up the stairs, and appear before Noelle's bedroom door. And Noelle wouldn't question it, nor oppose it. If they were an angel ready to guide her, she'd go without hesitation. She'd just want them to come closer, to sit on the couch with her... no, lay with her. Be with her. Be hers. She just wants them to lean close and...

"Hngh—!" Noelle jolts awake, glass in hand half full with chocolate milk still. It seems in her nightly day dreaming, she fell asleep on the couch.

"...I can't sleep like this," she tells herself. Noelle gets up and places the glass of milk on her desk. "If only I had Kris' sweater still... Maybe if Kris was here again, I could ask them to play the piano for me. A lullaby to ease my mind...," she drifts thoughtlessly, looking down at the floor.

"Well, I'm glad you got your sweater back at least, Kris. ...But," she pauses, walking over to her wardrobe and opening it. Inside is a collage of shirts and dresses. Usual fashion for Noelle to have. But at the bottom of the cabinet, there's a small indent into the wooden texture near the back border of the wardrobe's geometry. It's rectangular and much deeper than it looks, far from what many would consider a scratch or chipping of wood, but not something even the most experienced eye would pay much mind to. It's just big enough that a monster's claw could perfectly hook right into it... And Noelle did exactly that. "There are some things of yours... I'll just never return."

The bottom panel of the cabinet opens up, revealing a hidden storage compartment inside, tucked below the cabinet's shirt storage and above the drawers where Noelle keeps skirts and underwear. And hidden inside was a treasure trove. A collection of Kris memorabilia in the form of several articles of clothing they had lost or thrown away due to wear and tear. Sweaters, shirts, socks, Kris-scented crocs it was the whole shebang!

Most people would say this is an unhealthy obsession. For the sake of this bonus chapter and of humor, this is just Noelle being Noelle.

Noelle grabs all the clothes in the hidden compartment, stuffing her arms full. A gleeful smile spreads wide across her face having it so close to her. She throws them on the floor in the center of room and dives right in. Like a pig in mud, she rolls around in her filth, but she's a happy pig. A very peculiar, strange, but happy pig.

And through enough rolling around, she would find herself to sleep again. Maybe she's even dreaming about playing in a field of greens with her Krismas...

Notes:

If this fic gets 15 kudos I'll add a bonus fluff chapter, something short and sweet
