Notes:

Hi. I got really into this ship as I was literally watching the film. Then I saw people on twitter talking about it and I felt like I wasn't crazy for liking it! So I hope you like the fic as I love the trope of someone finding a baby and having to take care of it.

Chapter Text

It was a normal day for Peter. Swinging from building to building, getting into fights with the people in town, getting free pizza from a local place he saved from being robbed. Normal stuff. Easy stuff for him.

It's been a couple months since the whole, Jean Grey thing and he's healed up fine. Well as fine as he can. He's always got some bruise or cut but he tries to keep it light for now. But mentally he's doing better.

He was in queens, standing on a building off Abingdon rd and Lefferts blvd, just taking a break when he hears a soft cry come from another roof. He looks around, seeing his spidy senses pick up more precisely where the child is. He jumps to the next roof and moves some wooden planks around before he finds a forgotten bundle that's crying in the late October cold.

"Oh it's okay." He says not really sure while he scoops up the little baby. It looks not older then maybe 2 months. He looks around as he fears that this child was left here to die.

The child cries from the cold as they looks like they've been here for an hour, left only in a couple layers of blankets that don't look thick enough for this weather.

He holds the child close before he leaps down to the street. "Is this someone's kid?" He asks while looking at people walking by. They ether shrug or say it's not there's.

He sighs as he heads over to this older Cuban lady's house as he knows she'll give him something to keep the child warm.

"Hola Maria!" Peter calls out while he knocks on the door. After a few seconds the door sings open fast as Maria is already pulling him in and chatting his ear off his Spanish. He's still picking up some parts but he knows she's talking about feeding him again and making him sit. He knows to just wait it out before she sees the baby who's crying softly as they seem to have warmed up a bit from his body.

"Oh! Who's child is that?" She asks in the middle of playing him food. She only glances over once while she was busy with the broken radio.

"I have no idea. I just found them on the roof a few blocks back."

"Qué?" She gasps while she looks over. She traids him the plate for the baby. He starts to eat as it's been about five hours since his coffee and breakfast wrap and he's starving.

She looks over the child before she takes them off to another room. After half an hour; the child is bathed, changed into warm pink clothes and drinking from a bottle. "It's a girl." She says all happy as she coos. "Es como volver a ver a mi nieta pequeña."

"Do you think she's someone's from around here?" Peter asked as he had fixed her sink and radio in the time being and was still messing with the channels to get the right one.

"No no. Not unless her mother hide the pregnancy." Maria says as she knows everyone in town and all the gossip. Peter thinks as he hums. "You could take her to a fire station."

"No I got a better idea." He says as he gets the channel and stands up. "Thank you for all your help."

She nods as she pats his shoulder. "Well you helped me too. Now here." She hands her a bag that was heavy even for him. "Baby stuff if you keep her." She winks before she waves him off.

He steps outside with a full stomach, a heavy bag on his back and a little bundle in his arms. "We got this girl. I know someone who can help till we find you a home." He says as the little girl coos while nuzzles up close to his chest.

Peter swings over to the docks and gently places the child down on the baby bag, keeping her safe while he handles the trips. "I can't believe I have to do this…" He grumbles as he shakes his head. He is the only that helped set them up but now he's gotta do it again.

He jumps into the place, ready for anything before it hits him. Then he remembers, they never set up more. "Frank!" He calls out as he looks around. "Frank! Ya there?"

"What do you want Peter?" Frank yells out while he comes out with a gun in his hip. "It's mid day and you don't show up like this."

"We got a problem!"

"We? No we. You got a problem." Frank says as he messes with his jet black hair. "Unless it's a Jean then then it's an us problem."

"No not Jean, she's fine," Peter goes back to the front and scoops up the baby and the bag. "I found a baby."

"Well it sure looks like you took it from their mother all that stuff. Where'd you find him?" Frank asks while he watches Peter swing up to him and takes off the mask.

"Her and she was left on a roof, hidden under some wooden pallets… probably left there to die." Peter mumbles as he looks at the little girl who is sleeping again.

Frank watches them as he knew he couldn't handle this father stuff again from the start. So he pivots the conversation. "Have you found someone to take her?"

"Not yet. I was hoping we take care of her till I find someone. I mean I have no documentation or any information on her. Maria said she's not from area." He heads inside as they go fast the small kitchen as he smells hotdogs cooking.

"You really went to Maria first?"

"Well she was only a couple blocks away."

"Well I'm not taking care of another baby. You gotta learn if you want to keep her around." He moves the hotdogs off to the side as he starts to make coffee. Peter sits at the table while he puts the bag down. He held the little girl better as she wakes up. She babbles to herself as she reaches up to Peter's face.

"You gotta help me Frank! I mean I know nothing about taking care of kids! That's why I came to you after I got this information." He whines as he moves his laptop over as he last left an extra one at Frank's place for intel. He starts to look up missing peoples information or lost children stuff.

Frank huffs as he drops a cup of coffee next to Peter and looks over the child. Dark brown hair that's already curling, chocolate eyes that seem to sparkle and wonder as they look around in amazement, pale skin with feckles and two big dimples. She looks just like Peter. "Fine I'll help. But only till we find a place for her." He scoops up the child from his arms as he checks to see if she has a birth mark on her. "She's got a little heart birth mark on her left shoulder. Look up kids missing with that."

Peter nods as he takes a sip of coffee and nearly spits it out. "Did you use expired coffee? What is this?"

"Diner coffee now deal with it."

Peter rolls his eyes and keeps looking. "I can't find anything at all. It's like she's not even real… nothing about a birth in the last couple months with her description ether." He sighs as he rubs his face. "I'll call Yelena." He pulls it up as he glances over to see Frank holding the child closely while he prepares the food as he seems to have burnt the bread for the hotdogs. He quickly puts his mask back on while he hears it ringing.

"Hello little spider!" Yelena says as she was sitting in her office. "I got floating raft for my computer so I can be in the water." She smiled at him as he could tell she was in the water from her being topless and the echo.

"Hi Yelena. I need your help ether finding information or making donations for someone."

"Oh you helping someone?" She asks as she moves a hair out her face.

"Kinda. I found a child on the roof all alone and I can't seem to find anything on her." Peter sighs as he leans back into the booth.

"That's so sad. I'll try to help with this little potato problem since it's been slow." She shrugs as she starts to type. "Name or description oh child?"

"We don't have the name but she's got brown hair and eyes, pale skin and found in queens." Peter lifts his mask up a bit to drink the horrible coffee as he just needs it.

"Too many kids that look like that. Age?"

"Two months maybe."

"So young!" She gasps as she pouts. "Whoever left their child there must be not good." Peter shakes his head as he sighs.

"I mean she was hidden away in the cold too. Just left there to die it seem." Yelana was silent for a bit as she seems upset from what Peter could tell. "Oh uh.. she's got a heart birth mark on her left shoulder." She nods as she types more.

"Nothing. I can make you documents so she can stay with you." Peter thinks as he wonders if he should keep her. It's only been a couple hours at this point, maybe less but he feels like he should keep her. She's just so cute and he doesn't want her to go into foster care or be adopted by someone who might not take care of her well. His mind was running with possibilities when he heard Yelana gushing. "Little spider has boyfriend! Good you're not alone more!"

Peter looks confused before he looks back to see that Frank was leaning in closer to see what's happening as the little girl watches them. "Not my boyfriend! He's just helping."

"Sure. He's holding child like a pro and totally not your boyfriend." Yelana laughs while she smiles.

"Focuse!"

"Fine. What name do you want her to have?"

Peter kinda freezes as he didn't think of that part. He looks over at Frank as the man shrugs as he holds the baby closer. "Don't ask me."

Notes:

If you guys have any name suggestions would be helpful cause I'm fully drawing a blank.
