Chapter Text
Unlike what people think, firefighters didn’t spend their days 24/7 fighting fires. Well, they were on standby all the time since you never knew. But there were actually days when they could chill inside their base, as rare as it was. It’s something everyone enjoyed and not talked about unless they wanted to jinx it. Most of them just lounge around their shared space, needing a pretty much needed break after a supervillain attack yesterday.
It seemed to be a peaceful day for everyone judging from the rumbling sound of jet followed with a loud thud. Not long after that, the door to their balcony swiped open and someone walked in like they owned the place, still clad in his grey tight suits and white armor.
“Ah yeah, Jason - Blue, Blue - Jason,” They introduced them to each other, Jason’s jaw had dropped while Blue just waved his hand like he’s their neighbor or something.
“I-Is that? Mecha Man? Like, the real deal?” Jason was mid-pouring his coffee, that had started overflowing.
“Yeah, kid like to hang out sometimes, stealing our coffee and shit.” Karzai just swiped in his mug for the rookie to fill.
A mug that Blue stole as he sauntered straight to the donut box June just brought in.
“Oi oi oi,” She used her tail to swiped it away from the kid, but letting him took one after putting it on their shared table, ”Blue, how come you’re always here when we have the good ones?”
“I- jus- knw-“ The hero claimed, though his serious tone was useless against his puffed cheeks inHaling their donuts. “Oh I almost forgot, I’m not here just for coffee.”

Nozzles
The firefighters mostly stayed and lived inside their stations, ready to answer to any emergency, but also did normal people do in those blessed peaceful movements. Well, as peaceful as watching a man get dragged by the sheer power of water.
Some of them were just there standing, head following their lieutenant, who’s cruising by the street, pushed solely by the water pressure from their truck. One of them pulled out her phone and started recording.
“Damn Blue, these boost nozzles are SICK!”
“Right? AND the pump automatically adjust pressure.” Blue explained, chest pumped and arms crossed. Kid’s so proud of his upgrades. “I saw you guys struggle with reach the other day, so i figured some upgrades are needed.”
“Blue, can you make a solid stream, but rotary? Like a water shield.” Jason asked him something and they started talking in lingos none of them understand. All of his hero worship was gone in the face of new shiny toys. Well, if Lieutenant Karzai approved of Blue’s free upgrades, who are they to refuse that. (As long as he is also the one testing it.)
“Speaking about pressure, I guess Jason’s still figuring out how to work multiple lines on the other pumper?” June piped in from her station, staring at their leader, chewing her donut, still trying his hardest to control the nozzle and failing spectaculary. Jason in question is mid conversation with Mecha Man, both hands still on the pumper.
“...gently” Jason let go and it turned off immediately. Karzai got dropped to the ground with a splat and an oof”
Their leader was okay enough to scream, maybe a tad bit confused. “What is HAPPENING?” Another pull and he was blasted out of their view.
“Ooops.”
”Too much boost?”
“No shit sherlock.”
