Chapter Text
One hour and three minutes, that's how long Juhoon had spent his night texting Martin in morse code. He should have just slept but this felt exciting.
The manager couldn't tell what they were talking about. And this has felt rebellious in Juhoon's teenage mind. Maybe, Martin felt the same rebel Juhoon was experiencing for the past two nights, the latter thought.
The members could now easily talk to each other without having a care. All they had to do was learn dots and dashes. But it would be pretty suspicious, if you really thought about it. One random day, all five of the members texting each other in code. Yeah, they would be caught in no time.
Atleast Martin and Juhoon can text each other with, hopefully, little to no suspicion. It could be their little thing, without anyone knowing. Yes, the manager and staff may find it weird, but the members have done weirder things in the past.
'How long can we realistically do it for?' Juhoon thought to himself. It was a solid plan, the morse code texting, but they were going to get busted one way or the other if they kept doing it.
"We are gonna code only on Fridays after this week ends." Juhoon entered Martin's room.
Martin must had spent more time staying late- memorising the code, Juhoon wondered. He was barely awake the moment Juhoon stood by the doorframe.
"And we will only text for forty five minutes." Juhoon stared at the circles forming under Martin's eyes.
"Why, though? Did you not get enough sleep?" Martin stretched his arms as an attempt to bring himself back to reality.
"Speak for yourself. You're the one who didn't sleep well." Juhoon sat on Martin's bed as he looked deeper under Martin's eyes.
"You look like you'll pass out in less than ten minutes."
"No, why would you say that? I slept well." Martin touched the back of his neck as he slowly faked chuckling. Juhoon could tell that right now.
"Our manager will become suspicious any time and I don't want you to obssess over dots and dashes for the whole night."
"But I still haven't learned them."
"I know that, but you seriously look pathetic right now. Get some sleep, we still have time before leaving. I'll go bring ice for your undereyes."
Martin rarely saw this side of Juhoon, moments like these made it very clear who the elder one was. He liked this side of Juhoon.
'You should save up the good things for special occasions. If you'll always use it, it will eventually lose its value.' His older sister's words echoed in his ears.

Hey
Are you awake??
------------------------------------
Juhoon knocked twice before entering Martin and the twins' room, a habit he still wouldn't let go at 11:30 P.M.
He reached out to Martin's phone laying in his hand. The latter had infact fallen asleep.
There remained Juhoon and Martin's text on the phone and beside it, a paper. The same paper, now filled with more punctuation marks than Juhoon remembered. The taller boy had clearly put in the effort.
Juhoon caught himself smiling at the paper, Martin wrote punctuations but still refused to use them. Alright, he'd give it to Martin this time, punctuations took longer to type compared to the alphabets, afterall.
Juhoon had spent most of his life in solitary. He never had siblings he could talk to, and his parents were always, for reasons unknown to Juhoon, busy. The tables turned when he was recruited by a modelling agency.
Juhoon was the one who got busy while his parents waited for him at their house. It was not long after that Juhoon got scouted by the Big Hit agency. The name had felt huge to him at that time. He hated to admit it, but Juhoon was scared.
He was pretty used to the 'spoiled brat' title by now but what if his members got to know, what if they thought he paid for his spot. He had to live with them if he wanted to debut, what if they tried jumping to conclusions.
'No way! You were a model. Damn, bro. Wait no, I can totally see why.' Martin had said on Juhoon's first day.
'You don't find it... weird?' Juhoon had asked hesitantly.
'Why would I find that weird? I saw you dance and you're talented as hell, you should be proud, man.'
Maybe the outer world, wasn't as scary as he had thought.
Juhoon quietly tucked Martin under his blanket, returning to reality. He looked around the room to find Keonho and Seonghyeon sleeping soundly. He appreciated the silence because God knows what they would argue about the moment they'd wake up tomorrow morning.
