Chapter Text
“Henry!”
Ram yelled as the older boy ran onto the feild.
Henry laughed, running straight into Ram's arms. He hugged Ram as hard as he could, grinning.
“I missed you.”
“It's been one day, you doof.” Henry pulled away, pressing a wet kiss to Ram's increasingly reddening cheeks.
“It's still a long time.” Ram mumbled, pulling Henry down to sit on the ground.
“You're insane.” Henry looked around the dark feild, then smiled.
“Apple?” Ram offered, sticking out a green apple from the basket he brought.
“Sure.” Henry took a bite, chewing wile staring directly in Ram's eyes.
“Y'know, I've liked you since I was a freshman.” Ram murmured, biting into the granola bar his mom packed him. He told her he was hanging out with his 'girlfriend'.
“Really? I was pretty ugly in my sophomore year.” Henry took another bite of his apple, looking back at Ram.
“Yeah. You've been cute for forever.” Ram chewed loudly, still not knowing how to chew with his mouth shut.
“Dang.” Henry kept eating, chuckling at Ram's childlike-eating habits.
“Goody two-shoes can't say damn.” Ram joked, finishing his granola bar and reaching into his basket.
“I grew up not being able to cuss. My parents are both Mormon and I've never learned them.” Henry watched as Ram pulled out a flask, his eyes widening in shock.
“So, you went against you're own religion to kiss me?” Ram finished drinking, offering the flask to Henry.
“Yeah. God doesn't like fags.” Henry grabbed the flask, taking a whiff of the strong-smelling alcohol. “Oh, shit!”
“There we go!” Ram clapped sarcastically, then gagged. “Fuuuuckk...”
“What?” Henry leaned closer, just to be jumped on by Ram.
“Surprise! You wanna get drunk with me and probably pass out on the middle of the field and have to be carried off by Principle Gowan?”
“Something tells me you're already drunk.” Henry whispered, Ram wrapping his arms around his neck.
“Maybe I'm just that good at hiding it that it took you this long.” Ram chuckled, then took another swig from the flask. It smelled like whiskey mixed with vodka and whatever else Ram's parents had.
“Oh God.” Henry closed his eyes, then took the flask from Ram. He sighed before taking a sip, gagging right after. “What the heck is in here?”
“Liquor, vodka, tiny bit of my dad's moonshine. Anything to get drunk.” Ram smirked, then grinned. “Hey, you had alcohol!”
“Great.” Henry took a long gulp, forcing it down his throat. “Might as well go to hell having fun.”
“Yeah!” Ram kissed Henry's cheek, giggling.
-
Henry and Ram were piss drunk, laughing at nothing. They laid on the field, staring up at the night sky.
“Y'know...” Henry started, his world all jumbled up and swirly.
“Hm?” Ram looked over, rolling on his side and falling onto Henry's chest.
“I'm not a man.” Henry sobered up right then and there, running his fingers through Ram's hair.
“What d'ya mean? Yes you are.” Ram mumbled, nuzzling against Henry's neck.
“No I'm not. I was born as Hailey. My mom and dad still call me that.” Henry felt tears prick his eyes, but he stayed strong.
“So you're telling me I'm not gay?” Ram looked at Henry's face, confused.
“I don't know.” Henry sighed, pulling on Ram's hair.
“So-ow! How did you look like this?” Ram ran his hand over Henry's chest, having no idea in the world of what Henry did.
“When I was about seven I stole one of my dad's testosterone shots and tried it and then I just kept doing it for ten more years.”
“Damn. Kiss me?”
“Yeah.”
