Chapter Text

Steve and Pony were really the only ones in the house, all the others were who knows where, and Pony just wanted to be somewhere comfy.

So here he was, sitting upside down. You'd think he learned his lesson after falling down twice not even a week before.

Steve was in the kitchen, probably getting cake. He apparently offered Pony some, which Pony called bullshit on. He didn't hear Steve say shit when he came in the house not even thirty minutes ago.

Even though Pony didn't reply, because he didn't ask shit, Steve still got him a piece. At least he set it on the table before pushing Pony off the couch - making him land on his face. Again.

After he pushed him off the couch, Steve laid on it, covering half the couch while looking for something to put on.

Pony glared at him, but ate his cake. He'll talk about it later. He'll eat his cake first. Food comes first in these types of things. At least that what his friends in New York said, he agreed hundred percent though.

Steve put on this show with horses. Pony didn't pay mind to it, seemed boring anyways. His top priority was to finish this cake. He ate it more.. clean then Steve, to say the least. He ate with his hands while Pony ate with a fork.

Pony wasn't scared to show he felt disgusted about it, Steve just glared at him before placing the plate on the table, not caring to take care of it.

Pony finished his soon after, before taking the plates to the kitchen to clean them. He knows he doesn't have to, Soda and Darry both saying so, but he was so used to it that he doesn't think twice about it.

Once he walked back into the living room, seeing Steve sitting there, looking more focused on the show than he ever seen Steve focused on anything.

Pony decided to poke fun and stand in front of him, or standing right in front of the TV to “see” what it's about. He didn't pay attention to it though, only doing it to piss Steve off.

“Get out the way, horsekid.” Steve pushed Pony to the side, while Pony just snickered.

“Its Ponyboy, Steviee” Pony taunted back, snickering. He noticed Steve got embarrassed when he was called that, but hid it by looking annoyed.

“You hang out with Soda and Two too much.” He sighed, he tried to look annoyed but with Pony's snickering, and the tv forgot, it was hard

“But don't you like the name, Steviee?” Pony continued, moving away slowly when Steve tried to tackle him to the ground. Since Ponyboy moved, Steve face planted onto the floor, making Pony laugh even harder at him.

Steve just scoffed as he stood off, wiping off his clothes, hoping, failing, to seem nonchalant. Which almost made Pony smile if he wasn't tackled to the floor again.

Pony yelped, jumping back, only his feet getting caught and falling backwards onto the floor. He quickly got up and tackled Steve.

They both stopped tackling and decided to sit and watch something on the tv they both agreed on. And by that he means Steve picking without asking if Pony liked it or anything.

Pony was at the very least, able to sit on the couch. Upside down since he has a liking for sitting like this. Even if it don't look fun. Or tough. Pony didn't give a fuck. Unless he was in public.

Steve just looked at him weirdly, but saying nothing else. He put on something Pony didn't care about watching. He just stared at it. Not even paying attention to it.

They stayed quiet for who knows how long, Pony thinking about food. Man was he hungry. While Steve just watched whatever the fuck he was watching.

“I'm hungry.” Pony finally said something, he kept thinking of a sandwich. Which made him more hungry.

“Go find somethin’ to eat then.” Steve didn't even give him a glance, way to focused on the show then he needs to be.

“I'm comfy though.” Pony groaned. He hated feeling hungry and being comfy at the same time.

“And ya laying like that?” Steve asked, grabbing his back legs, making him fall face first. Pony yelped, surprised by the sudden action.

Pony mumbled something, probably cussing Steve out as he went to the kitchen to make a pb and j. He didn't want to use too much of the food so he stuck with peanut butter and jelly.

He walked out to the living room, tripping as he fell to the floor. He mumbled something before standing up, looking over his sandwich before sitting on the couch. Normally for now.

“What did ya trip over?” Steve asked, with a smirk as he looked at Ponyboy. Pony didn't reply at first, taking slow bites of his sandwich.

“The invisible rat that looks like you.” Pony replied, with a smirk as he took another bite of his food. The sandwich was good, is the first thing Pony thought before getting smacked outside the head.

“Very funny.” Steve mocked, also mocking his laugh which made him look high, which made Pony snicker. Steve ignored him. But looked ‘annoyed’

Pony finished his sandwich finally able to sit upside down again. He finally focused on the show, which looked very familiar, he just couldn't place it, and he didn't think to care.

“This looks ass.” Is all Pony said before looking at the floor in thought again. He heard Steve scoff. Before he very kindly let his face meet the floor.

“Fuck you.” Is what Pony said as he sat up, before he was pushed down again as he felt Steve sit on him, getting comfy.

“Man fuck you!” Pony said. Again. As he tried getting up, much to his disdain, he couldn't. He grumbled, but still kept trying.

Steve just snickered while sitting on top of him. Before he heard the front door open and Soda entering in.

“Soda! Help me, this fatass won't get off me!” Pony somewhat yelled, he made sure to make the teasing evident in his voice this time though.

Soda just snickered before tackling Steve, getting him of Pony and him dramatically standing up like he hasn't in years

Notes:

I have decided. This fic will be 23 chapters (I was convinced by a friend to do 23)

Also Pony and Steve are more of a older brother younger brother kind of duo, acting like they hate each kther but really don't..

Also since Pony's more smarter then in the book, he knows Steve loves him (friend-brother way.) So he doesn't take anything Steve says to heart.

HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS CHAPTER, I had trouble thinking of what to make them do so this was very difficult 🥀
