Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Notes:

I won't lie, this story is kind of hard to write. It's hard to write something so close to home, you know? But if you get anything out of it (besides namgi. Namgi is great) I guess let it be that no matter what, you'll always get heal, and you'll learn to be okay again. Enjoy the chapter!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Taehyung was dating a bunny. An actual bunny. Was that even legal ?

The bunny smiled down at him shyly. "Hi, Yoongi-ssi. I'm Jeongguk, Taehyung's boyfriend,"

Yoongi nodded slowly. "Hello, Jeongguk," he said softly, reaching out a hand to shake.

Taehyung clapped. "Now you just have to meet Jiminie and you'll have met all my babies!"

Seokjin shook his head. "Gross,"

"You and Hoseokie are even worse, hyung," Jeongguk fired back. Yoongi giggled slightly, the kid wasn't wrong. He turned to Yoongi. "Do you have a boyfriend? Or girlfriend. Whatever,"

"No," replied Yoongi simply.

"I told you!" shouted Taehyung. "I ask him what type of music he likes, he says none. I ask him where he went to school, he says he doesn't know. I ask him what his favorite book is, he says he doesn't have one. I ask him what his favorite movie is, he says he's never seen one,"

Yoongi was bright red. "I'm very- I'm very sorry, Taehyung-ssi, I-"

Jin rolled his eyes. "Maybe he just doesn't want to talk to you. Who could blame him?"

Taehyung gasped, mock offended. Yoongi exhaled, casting Seokjin a grateful look. Of course, he felt terrible. He didn't dislike Taehyung at all. He just had no means to answer with.

Jeongguk quickly changed the subject. "Jimin and Hoseok hyung should be coming in a few minutes. Namjoon hyung is probably going to be late, as always,"

Yoongi glanced up at Taehyung. "He's coming?"

"You said you wanted to meet him."

"Thank... Thank you."

"Why are you thanking him?" asked Jeongguk.

"He heard Joon hyung's music and I don't know, but he asked to meet him,"

Jeongguk frowned. "Okay," he said simply.

The door opened and in barged two men with bright hair and brighter smiles. "We're here!" called out the orange haired one, who Yoongi recognized as Hoseok. Next to Hoseok was a pink haired, round cheeked man, possibly shorter than even Yoongi himself. Presumably, this was the "Jiminie" about whom Taehyung liked to gush.

Hoseok waved and kissed Seokjin's cheek. He bowed his head towards Yoongi. "Hi, hyung," he said carefully.

Yoongi offered him a watery smile. "Hi, Hoseok,"

Jimin offered him a smile. "Yoongi, is it?"

Yoongi nodded. "And I assume you're Jimin,"

Jimin grinned. "Mhm. It's nice to meet you. Tae's been going on about you nonstop,"

"I have not!" interjected Taehyung, smacking Jimin's arm. "Anyway, Namjoon hyung should be here soon. Then you'll have met all seven of us, hyung!"

"Lucky me." Yoongi sighed.

The door jingled open once again.

He had to have been the tallest man Yoongi had ever seen, with the deepest dimples and prettiest brown eyes. He had to suppress the urge to immediately walk up to him and cling to him for dear life. Everything about him screamed comfort and happiness and all the things that Yoongi had craved since birth.

Don't think things like that, Yoongi. That's sin, Yoongi. God doesn't like sinners, Yoongi.

He gulped as the man came to sit down at the table. "Sorry I'm kind of late. I was working on a song," he said breathlessly. He directed his wide smile towards Yoongi. "You're Jin's new employee, right?"

He nodded, eyes wide with wonder. "Y-yes. I'm Yoongi," he said softly.

Somehow, the smile widened. "Hi Yoongi,"

"Yoongi hyung likes your music," said Taehyung loudly. "But hyung is weird, he didn't even know what rap music was,"

"I'm sure he does know what rap music is, Taehyungie." Namjoon rolled his eyes fondly. He turned his gaze back to Yoongi. "And thank you. For liking my music, I mean," he said, pushing his glasses up his nose.

Yoongi looked down at his knuckles. "How could I not?"

Taehyung snorted. "It's probably the first time he's even heard music. I think hyung lived under a rock before he started working for Jin hyung,"

"Tae-ah, don't be rude," chided Seokjin, casting Yoongi a concerned glance.

Yoongi shook his head. "No, it's fine," he said, smiling as best he could.

"Anyway. Yoongi, I didn't introduce myself, but I'm Namjoon, and it's great to meet you." Namjoon offered Yoongi his hand to shake. He eyed it warily.

God doesn't like sinners, Yoongi. Sinners will die, Yoongi.

He gulped before grasping Namjoon's hand to shake. He was an apostate now, so it didn't really matter what he did or what he felt anymore anyway, did it?

But he couldn't deny that Namjoon's hand was warm, and comforting, just as he'd thought.

But then again, anyone could be warm and comforting, couldn't they? But they could still hurt you. They could still manipulate you. They could still make you wish you were dead. They could still make you trust them as they desecrated every inch of you, every piece of you, everything.

He drew his hand back.

Jimin clapped. "Now that introductions are over, I have to tell you all, Hoseok hyung is terrible,"

Hoseok rolled his eyes. "I am not."

"We danced for seven hours!"

Yoongi cracked a smile at the banter. It was so normal, so relaxed. He wished he could be a part of it. He wanted to be their friend, he wanted people to lean on. But he supposed that would have to wait. He barely knew these people. He couldn't possibly trust them, not yet, not even the dimpled angel sitting directly across from him.

That's sin, Yoongi, you shouldn't think things like that unless they're about me. You can only want me. You can only love me , I am your savior, I will bring you closer to God.

The voice echoed through his mind. He pressed his nails into his palms and swallowed, staring intensely at the wooden table.

"Must be an interesting table." Namjoon was looking at him, smiling softly. Did he ever stop smiling? Yoongi hoped he never did. "Are you shy?"

"He's not shy, I already told you, he's just weird," said Taehyung, but Yoongi knew he meant none of it.

"Yah, don't disrespect me, you brat," mumbled Yoongi.

Jeongguk and Jimin erupted into fits of laughter. "Can we keep him, Jin hyung?" asked Jimin, wiping his eyes.

Seokjin smiled. "He's here to stay, Jimin."

"I for one like that idea. At least he actually appreciates my music," said Namjoon jokingly.

"You're just fishing for compliments," said Hoseok.

Namjoon ignored him and turned back to Yoongi. "So, Yoongi hyung - hyung? Can I call you that? - what other music do you like?"

Yoongi dropped his forehead to the table as Taehyung guffawed in the background. "Can we not have this conversation?"

Maybe it wouldn't be so hard to trust them.

Notes:

I hope you liked this chapter. I know it was pretty boring, but now that introductions are over with, we can get to the actual stuff. I'm going to be able to update more frequently than I thought, as I have been given a significant amount of time off of my job. However, after writing this chapter, I have realized that it's kind of difficult to write. I'll certainly attempt to update again within the next few weeks.

Notes:

So, this is the first chapter. I hope it doesn't disappoint too much. Like I said, Yoongi's experiences are somewhat based off of my own, and those of my mother. Updates might be sparse, but I hope you can stick with me. Thank you for reading!
