Wangji looks up from where she’s buried in between Wei Ying’s legs. Wei Ying is wide eyed, paused to stillness, the same as her brother and Nie Mingjue in the doorway.
“This isn’t what it looks like.” She says calmly.
Lan Xichen makes a dying noise.
Nie Mingjue raises an eyebrow. “It looks like you were eating out your secretary on your multimillion desk.”Lan Wangji blinks, considering, then nods. “Then it’s exactly what it looks like.”

“Forever.” Wangji chokes out.

“No,” the man replied. “I am afraid my younger brother is in no position to make phone calls, or perform illegal spellwork for that matter.” He didn’t just sound tired, she realised. He sounded… heartbroken. “He has been in a coma for some time, and the doctors do not believe he will last the night.”After his brother's core is destroyed—a fatal injury—Lan Huan seeks out Lan Zhan's soulmate.
