Chapter Text
Sometime ago, I had "died". Class 1-A had been on a mountain for survival training, to see how well each student adapted to a cold, high-altitude environment. At one point during our training, a villain launched an attack at Jirou, and I intercepted its path. I was caught by his quirk, pulled underwater, where I "died." See, I was Quirkless, but was given the quirk One for All by my hero, All-Might. But, apparently, I've had a secret quirk all this time, called Second Chance. When I die, I could be revived only once by this Quirk. Though, there was a side effect; I would see what the world would have been like had I died for real. I hated seeing it, I hated seeing my friends, family, and others so sad. But, after I came back to life, I didn't have to see that world anymore... at least, that's what I thought. Sometimes, I do see the other reality. Sometimes I'd be in class, and the world would shift suddenly. I’d see my classmates looking much less like themselves, with saddened, hard eyes. And then I’d shift back into this reality as though nothing had happened at all...
Midoriya Izuku had been kidnapped, even under Class 1-A's ever so watchful eye. A good full three days went by until they found Izuku again, where he told them what had happened. A crazy scientist had someone kidnap him so he could perform tests on Izuku using his quirk, Overcharge. He told them how when the scientist used his quirk on Izuku, One for All ramped up his entire body where he managed to escape fortunately, but with heavy bruising due to the amount of power (100%) being used by One for All. Even then, it was still a struggle to keep One for All under control, so when he told them this, someone suggested putting Izuku into a sleep so his quirk would hopefully calm down (and also because Izuku looked like he hadn't had good sleep for three days).
Once Izuku had fallen asleep, that's when it happened... that's when Second Chance was "Overcharged." As Izuku's body entered the realm of sleep, the rest of him didn't. The rest of him entered the other reality, on a day where Bakugou was standing over Izuku's grave. Bakugou being silent in the other reality was the worst of it sometimes, sometimes Izuku could feel all the anger, hate, and loneliness that radiated off of him. Izuku had learned by now that he couldn't do anything in this reality, but something that night had possessed him to lay a comforting hand on Bakugou's shoulder... It felt not only right to Izuku, but also like his hand was really on Bakugou's shoulder, but Izuku paid no mind to it because of how natural it had felt...
But seeing a ghost was not natural. Katsuki turned to see who hand was on his shoulder, only to see a dead person standing in front of him, Midoriya Izuku, bearing a comforting smile and tears rolling down his face...
A sudden jolt shocked him awake, and Izuku shot upright, gasping heavily. What was that, Izuku thought, he's never been able to touch them before, and even when he did the scene shattered... but Bakugou had reacted to his touch, that surprised look in his eyes, the look of seeing a dead man walking, told him everything. Was it because of that guy's Overcharge quirk that he was able to influence the other reality?
An alarm had shook him out of his thoughts, and Izuku simply got ready for class that day, putting the dream behind him for the time being, letting school and his friends occupy his mind for the rest of the day... until he had gone back to sleep...
"I'm telling you! I saw him! He wasn't see through or anything like that, he was..."
"What's up with Bakugou? He doesn't usually have that kind of tone."
"Apparently, Bakugou saw... Midoriya at his grave."
"Well, yeah... of course he saw him..."
"I mean that he saw the actual Midoriya, an actual living body"
"That's creepy..."
Who was talking? For some reason, Izuku couldn't see them, he couldn't even tell who's voice it was. Why was everything so muffled? Was this door in front of him the answer? Izuku grabbed the doorknob and tried to open it. It wouldn't budge.
"Woah, did you hear that?"
Izuku felt the need to open the door increase.
"Where's it coming from?"
Maybe if he banged on the door, someone on the other side would open it, if anyone was on the other side to begin with.
"Stand back, I'll open it."
The need to open this door began to increase beyond belief, Izuku began to yank at the doorknob as if his life depended on it... and then he fell through. Falling onto his face, sense found its place back into his mind. He was in the other reality right? So why was he trying to open a door so hard... and why did his nose hurt?
"I-Izuku?"
He looked up, and saw Uraraka, tears glistening in her eyes, and her hands covering her mouth... She was looking right at him.
Could... Could she see him?
