Chapter 2: Day Four: Stands

Chapter Text

Giorno sighed, taking a drink of his coffee. The mountain of paperwork on his desk was ridiculously high. He had known running the city would be a hard job, of course, but he had never expected it to be as bad as it was. He thought he would at least have some time to actually breathe. As it stood, though, he barely ever had time for proper meals anymore.

“Sir, your meeting with the restaurant owner had been moved up to tonight. You should prepare the paperwork for it as soon as possible.”

He turned towards the source of the voice, a small smile forming on his face. “Mista… we’ve been over this, you can just call me Giorno.” The look on Mista’s face right then was priceless. He had a pink blush high on his cheeks and his eyes were slightly widened, as if the mere idea of calling him by his first name now that he was the leader of Passione was preposterous. He looked extremely cute like this.

Mista scratched the back of his head bashfully. “I… don’t think that would be appropriate.” He shook his head, mirroring Giorno’s smile. “Oh, also. I brought you food, “ he paused, placing a plate of pasta on the table near his desk, “Have some lunch before you pass out.”

“Will you stay and eat with me, Mista?” Giorno asked, tilting his head to the side just a bit.

Mista seemed to consider his options for a few seconds before nodding along. “Ah, sure. I’d love to.” He brought out another plate from his bag, though this one was covered up with aluminum foil.

They both sat down on the chairs next to the table and Mista uncovered his food before summoning his stand. “Alright guys, play nice, yeah? We’re eating with the boss today.” The six bullets all replied positively before rushing over to where the food was.

Giorno chuckled at the way Mista spoke to his stand, like they were his children. He’d always found it extremely endearing. He took a bite out of his food, keeping his eyes on Mista while he watched over Sex Pistols.

It wasn’t long until Tre started to bully Cinque again. The bullet kept pushing him away from the food.

“Tre, behave,” Mista warned, a stern look on his face.

“There’s not enough for all six of us, Mista!” Tre protested, taking a bite out of one of the noodles. Sei nodded in agreement, but said nothing.

Cinque sniffled, tears beginning to form in his eyes. It wouldn’t be long until he started crying. Giorno smiled at the bullet, extending his hand in order to pull him closer. “Cinque, how about you come eat from my plate then? There’s more than enough for both of us.”

Mista stared at him in disbelief. “G-Giorno! You… you don’t have to do that!” he exclaimed quickly, shooting a quick glare at Tre and Sei.

Giorno shook his head, placing a sweet kiss on the bullet’s cheek. “I know.” He put Cinque down next to his plate, smiling once he saw the little guy’s happy expression. He’d never admit it outloud, but he’d always had a soft spot for Cinque. The bullet reminded him of his younger days, back when he had been bullied. “I really don’t mind sharing with him.”

“Boss, we wanna be pampered by Giorno too!” said Uno, pulling on Mista’s sleeve.

Due nodded, kicking Tre off the plate. “Yeah! Me too! Me too! I want a kiss from Giorno!”

“A kiss from Giorno?!” exclaimed Sette. “Mista, can we all get kisses from your boyfriend too?”

“G-Guys! Knock it off!,” Mista exclaimed, covering his face with his hands. “Jeez. I’m sorry about all this.”

Giorno watched the scene in front of him unfold and laughed, shaking his head. “It’s fine…” He had been about to let it go, but the opportunity to tease his crush didn’t come as often as he’d like. “So I’m your boyfriend, huh?”

Mista looked up with his mouth open. He looked as if he wanted to say something but didn’t quite know what it was he wanted to say.

“How about you take me on a date then, boyfriend?”
