It’s a little confusing, so if y’all don’t understand it, I’ll take it down and edit it some more. I just really wanted to update this fic so that you guys know it’s not dead.

Chapter Text

Trevor was, like, 95% sure Adrian was a vampire.

He was just so pale, and the air around him was always so cold, and he always looked like he was made of marble, like a sculpture with hair made of sunshine. He was so charming it was unsettling. He was so alluring it was nearly repulsive. He was too perfect, yet at the same time, he acted so human.

He can walk in the sunlight and he very clearly has a reflection. Trevor recounted to himself. But there’s just something...off.

Through some unfortunate luck, Trevor found himself being forced along for lunch with both Sypha and Adrian. Trevor was glad to get meet again with Sypha. In fact, he was hoping he could get dinner and drinks with her some night as well, but unfortunately the third wheel had to join them, ruining any chance for Trevor to ask her out. Adrian’s excuse was that he “wanted to get to know Trevor a little bit more” because he wanted to “be friends”

Disgusting. Trevor grimaced in the back seat of Adrian’s Tesla. Of course he drives a Tesla. What else would the arrogant bastard own?

They stopped at a hole in the wall pizzeria restaurant. Adrian promised that it was the most authentic New York style thin-crust pizza you could get without actually going to New York, and much as Trevor hated to admit it, the pizza was amazing. The slices were the size of his head and after only three slices, he felt like he was about to burst.

“Jesus,” Trevor grumbled miserably with his face buried in his hands. “I ate too much.”

“Yeah,” Sypha slouched back in her seat and tossed down her napkin. “I’m full. I really regret that second slice.”

Adrian had eaten his two slices slowly and seemed just as close to a food coma as the others, but he pressed on for more conversation. “So, Belmont,” he started. “I never got the chance to ask more about you. Sypha tells me you lived overseas?”

It took every ounce of willpower for Trevor to even muster up the energy to respond. He sat up in his seat and took a sip of water. “Yeah. Moved from England.”

“Ah, where about?”

“All over the place, but I was in London before I left for the states.”

Adrian nodded. “So, did you go to school?”

“Tried to.” Trevor shrugged. “I guess I failed out.”

“You guess?”

“Next question.”

Sypha frowned at the tension, but listened on as the interrogation continued.

“Do you have family in the United States?”

“Nope.”

“Then why did you move he—“

“Next question.”

A tense moment of silence lingered in the air. Adrian cocked an undeterred brow and tapped his finger on the table. Trevor sighed.

“Is there a point to these questions?”

“I’m just trying to get to know you better, that’s all, Belmont.”

The answer was honest, but vague. What’s it to you, buddy? Trevor scowled.

“Okay, then. Let me ask some questions too. You don’t sound like you’re from here. Where are you from?”

“I was actually born in Romania. Same as Sypha. I lived in England for a while, too.”

“Why did you move?”

Adrian bit his tongue in order to keep himself from questioning why he was obligated to answer any questions Trevor didn’t plan on answering himself. “Family and friends.” It wasn’t entirely a lie.

“How long have you lived here?”

“Long time.”

“How long?”

“Next question.”

“How do you know Sypha?”

“She already told you, she dances at the studio. We met there. My turn. What do you do in your spare time? Sports? Reading? H—“

“—hunting.”

Adrian paused. The rapid fire question and answers ceased for a minute. The corner of the blond’s mouth quirked upward and he looked oddly satisfied with that answer. “Oh?”

Sypha’s frown deepened. “What’s going on here?”

“What do you hunt?” Adrian pried further. “Deer? Turkey? Elk?”

Trevor stayed silent.

He was 99% sure Adrian was a vampire.

“My lunch break is done. I gotta go.” He stood.

“Where do think you’re going, Belmont? I drove you here.”

“I’ll walk.”

“It’s too fa—“

….

But he was already out the door.

Sypha shot Adrian a looked. “What the fuck was that about?”

“What?”

The magician looked unimpressed and passed her paper plate over to Adrian. “You scared him off. I thought you were trying to get along!”

“I was just—“

“You were being weird.” She scolded him. “Go take care of the plates. I’m refilling my drink and then we need to get back to the studio.”

“What about Bel—“

“Trevor is a big boy. He can walk. Besides,” she stood with a stretch. “I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a car after all of that questioning either. Let him walk.”

Adrian sighed and grabbed his keys. “Fine.”
