Chapter Text

Momo slowly opened her eyes as she drifted back into consciousness. She waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness for a moment before she read the clock. It was 3:00 am. Momo groaned, it was too early to be up. She turned over and reached out for Kyouka only to find the side of the bed completely empty. That immediately caused Momo to jolt awake as she sat up and noticed that Kyouka wasn't in the room either.

It had been a week since Kyouka woke up, so she was able to come home. Kyouka was still recovering though and had to take a break from hero duties for another week.

Reluctantly Momo got out of bed and walked out of the room. She walked into the living room to see Kyouka sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket. As Momo got closer she noticed that Kyouka was shaking and small sniffles escaped from her.

Momo tapped her girlfriend on the shoulder lightly. "Kyouka are you alright?"

Kyouka let out a nervous whimper before she looked over at Momo with wide tear-stained eyes. She quickly looked away and whipped the tears from her eyes. "Y-yeah, I'm okay. I just had some trouble sleeping."

Momo's tired gaze quickly turned into one of concern before she walked over and sat down next to Kyouka. She put her hand on Kyouka's and held it gently. "You have been crying."

Kyouka looked at Momo for a moment, debating on wether to respond or not. Eventually she griped Momo's hand tightly. "I-I had a nightmare"

Momo rubbed her thumb against Kyouka’s palm and put her other hand on Kyouka’s shoulder, as a sign of comfort. “Do you want to talk about it?”

In response Kyouka shuffled closer so that she was now against Momo. She layed her head in the crook of Momo’s neck, before letting out a few choked sobs. “I-It was about,” she took a deep breath to calm herself. “A-about the incident,” she mumbled.

Momo stiffened at the mention of the recent events. Neither of them had really talked about the event since Kyouka had woken up. But it wasn’t the guilt of what happened that hurt her, it was the guilt that Kyouka felt like she had to hide her trauma from the events from her.

How long had Kyouka been silently suffering because of my uncomfortableness of the subject?

Kyouka let out a few shuddering breaths before she spoke again. "It was about those things that you said. That I was weak. That I was pathetic. That I was useless. That I deserved nothing that I had. That no one would ever want to be with me. And the worst part was," Kyouka broke off her sentence as she let out a few choked sobs, letting some tears fall down her face. "Was that you were right. I know you weren't yourself then and that you didn't mean those things you said, but you were right." She was crying as she spoke.

Momo backed up a little bit so that Kyouka's face was no longer in the crook of her neck. She used her free hand to cup the side of Kyouka's face and gently positioned her girlfriend's face, so that Kyouka was looking directly at her. Momo made sure that Kyouka's tear filled eyes were looking into her's. "Hun, you know that you can talk to me when you feel this way, right?"

There was silence for a few moments that felt way too long for Momo to be comfortable with. "Right?" she repeated sounding more stern to let Kyouka know that she needed an answer.

Kyouka's gaze drifted down, so that she couldn't look Momo in the eye. "It's not that I don't trust you Momo because I really do. I just don't," Kyouka let out a sigh to compose herself to stop her from crying again. "I don't want to burden you again."

Momo's grip tightened on her girlfriend's hand as she rembered the incident that happened back when they were still students at UA. "Honey we've been through this. I love with all my heart, faults and all," she said softly.

"I know! That's why I hate myself for feeling this way when all you've ever done is shown how much you love me! Yet I still can't seem to get rid of these insecurities so that you don't feel like that you've done something wrong when you haven't!" Tears were once again flowing out of Kyouka's eyes.

Momo quickly pulled Kyouka into a tight imbrace. "Kyouka it's okay to feel insecure. It's okay to tell me when you're feeling this way. It's okay to let me comfort you. My happiness is not the only importantance here, your happiness is too," she said softly as she rubbed circles into Kyouka's back to help calm her down.

Once Kyouka's sobs quieted Momo pulled out of the embrace a bit. The two were still holding each other, but now the two were looking into each other's eyes once again.

"I love you so much."

Momo kissed Kyouka's forehead.

"My world fell apart when you were in the hospital."

She kissed her nose.

"You are such an important part of my life."

She kissed her left cheek.

"I don't know where I would be without you."

She kissed her right cheek.

"Things are going to be fine as long as we have each other."

She kissed her eyelids.

"Do you feel the same?"

Their faces were only inches apart. Love was the only emotion showing in Momo's oynix orbs.

Kyouka, with a very notable blush on her face, wiped some tears from her eyes and smiled. "Yes, I really really do Momo."

That was the only confirmation needed before Momo closed the small gap in between the two and kissed Kyouka deeply, and Kyouka quickly returned it with just as much passion.

This continued for a long time and led into a night full of love for both of them.

Notes:

I finally got this done! I'm so sorry for the wait! Also yes I did also shamelessly add a refrence from my other two momojirou fanfics!

Notes:

Hope you enjoyed. Man. I just love making Kyouka suffer don’t I? I guess I’m just algeric to making characters happy without some sort of angst.
