V and Jin walked outside their shelter. it was an old building hidden deep in the forest behind the hills in the suburbs of the capital. So deep that rarely any human crosses path this way, the animals are more of the neighbours here. They had special equipment installed so that any animal coming their way would be deterred by forcefield. The forest around it provided it with Xtra shelter is needed to be the headquarters of the resistance, hiding it from any prying human eyes. Yes it was incredibly difficult to get there, even for members but it only showed the conviction members had to the resistance.
The sky hopper was one of the latest models, acquired with great difficulty with the help from RM, their inside man in the government. It's the resistance's pride and joy, and nothing less than the best can be provided for its leader. Not because he wants it, but because it is what he deserves.
The farewell is, as always, bittersweet. V says good bye to everyone, in return they all assure him that he is doing the right thing by going into hiding.
"We will be fine,V" says Chim, trying to assure his best friend. "Hobi Hyung and I will take care of everyone"
V smiles at him. He can not help but wonder how much Chim has changed over the course of last few years. Gone was the happy go lucky medical student from the capital, the rich kid who knew nothing of the world. Chim now was the head doctor of the resistance, his hair was no longer slick and stylized, neither was his cloths fancy. He had forsaken everything of comfort for the sake of the fighting. Yes, he was no longer drawing in luxury , but his eyes had a fire and new light. V can not help but think that his friend looks beautiful.
Hobi assures him as well. " you have put Suga hyung in charge, V. You have nothing to worry about". V nods to him. It is true, there is literally nothing to worry when Suga, his chief strategist in charge.
"Come on, it’s getting late!" Jin says.
"take care of him" Chim says to Jin. He can't help but worry a little, even though they have taken all the precautions
"Always" Jin replies.
V takes one last look at everyone as he hopes on the hopper. And then they are off.

The first few minutes of the ride is event less . Jin is in the wheel, as V looks out of the window. They are flying through the mountain range, the gravity of the planet has created various shapes and sizes of them, some of the mountains are even hanging off the cliffs. They look like out of someone's imagination.
" how much longer?" V asks.
" Around 2 and a half hours". Jin replies.
V sighs, even though he is patient, it seems too long. He can't wait to get back to work, to plan the next attack.
Going against the Capital is a game of staying ahead. Its hard, trying to plan one step ahead of them, thinking about what the best move can be. But V knows that he has to do it. It's for a greater cause. So many people around the world have been suffering due to that unequal discrimination, just because they are born with a different set of dna. Just because some pseudo science decided that they should be put into category-B . He observes Jin, sitting right to him. How can someone so talented and handsome be Category -B??
" is there something on my face?" Jin asks and V is shaken from his thoughts. God! He must have been staring too long!
"I was thinking maybe I can fly the hopper for a while" V says to hide his embarrassment.
"Really?" Jin crocks an eyebrow.
"Yes, I haven’t had chance to hone my skills for a while now, the terrain looks challenging, I want to try"
Jin didn’t really want to give the wheel to V, but he figured that V needs a bit to relax too. It is not all fun and games, driving the hopper, but he knows it will help the leader unwind a bit.
So V takes control, and it’s like a kid driving his first car. He does various tricks on air, soaring through the sky like a free bird. V is all giggly after he completes a particularly hard trick and Jin smiles, it's rare to see V having fun. He is glad that he took the journey with him.
Suddenly the emergency sign flashes, the radar gives the bad news.
There are three Sidok planes in their vicinity.
Jin’s blood runs cold. This is not supposed to happen.
“Military hoppers from the capital” V says in a cold tone. “ they knew I was moving today”
“ But How?” Jin says “No one but the closest circle knew you were moving, they should not even know you are moving, let alone the course we are taking"
V's jaw tightens. "It seems we have a traitor in our ranks"
Jin looks like he wants to say something more, but there is literally no time, as Sidok hoppers appear and starts raining fire.
"How much ammunition do we have? " V asks.
"Not much, we didn't prepare to fight, just some for emergency"
Going into fight with three Sidok hopper alone was a death wish. It was more sensible to just make a run for it.
But that is easier said than done.
V was flying into the mountain, using terrain to avoid the Hoppers. There was a small opening in between two cliffs and V took a chance. He turned their hopper horizontally and made a narrow escape.
The other three hoppers tried to follow, the first one did not have enough enough time to turn , so it clashes on the face of the mountain. But the other two makes it, It's clear that they have sent their best pilots.
Another blast happens behind them and V sees that another of the Sidok hoppers have been destroyed. While V was busy driving, Jin has managed to fire a missile and hit a hopper.
V smiles at the agility of Jin. He truly is an asset for resistance.
But the last hopper is still intact and firing on them. There is no time for relief.
"Prepare the hyperdrive" V tells Jin." It won't be long till reinforcements arrive"
Jin nods and goes to work. He knows that if they can't escape, they will be toast. He is working as fast as he can while V tries to survive the fire, its a miracle they haven’t been hit yet. He doesn’t take time to chose the universe they will.be hyper jumping to. Its a random.universe, they will go there temporarily, just so that they can lose the Sidok hoppers.
The portal was open in front of them, V speeded the hopper, they needed to get out of there immediately.
As soon as they entered the portal, V felt they could relief a bit but..
The danger was far from being over.
Just as the portal was about to close a last missile entered it, this time managing to hit the left wind panel of the hopper.
The whole hopper shakes at the explosion and the lost control of it. they entered the sky of new universe spinning like a top out of control..
When the hopper stabilized somewhat, they were crashing down in incredible speed.
There was some sort of vehicle on the road, and V realised with horror that they were heading straight towards it. The vehicle was moving, and V prayed that it was empty because otherwise they would endanger whoever was in it.
V desperately tried to change their trigectory, but shit! The controls were damaged and the hopper would not change its course. They are gonna die, they are gonna in an unknown universe, away from everyone and everything they hold dear. they were gonna die without achieving anything they wanted to.
He looked at Jin who was sporting same look of sorrow.
The last thing V sees is that they clashed directly on to the vehicle and then everything went black.
