“Hey Emi where are you?” Nemuri said unlocking the door and peering inside the Smile Heroes apartment.
“I’ve been knocking and-“ Nemuri stared into the living room in total shock as Shouta Aizawa’s eyes stared back at her. Given the state of his hair, and the absolutely terrified look on both of their faces, it was obvious he had been there all night.
“Ohhhhhh my god!!!” Nemuri exclaimed, practically jumping up and down, as a wicked smile started to form on her face.
“Wait! Wait it’s not what you think!!” Emi stammered out
“Seriously just let us explain...” Shouta said nervously, but the grin on Nemuri’s face just grew larger.
“Oh, don’t worry! You don’t have to explain a thing! I’ll just leave you two alone~” She punctuated her sentence with a wink, and slipped out the door, cackling like an idiot.
Emi looked at Shouta nervously and began to explain.
“So, uh... Nemuri has a spare key and I forgot we were supposed to get breakfast this morning... She must have been knocking for a while and we didn’t hear her so she just came in...”
She waited for him to get embarrassed or angry or something but to her delight, he just laughed. He laughed hard.
“Oh, she’s never going to let us live this down...” He said rolling his eyes. He paused for a moment, like he was thinking about something.
“What is it?” Emi asked
“Maybe you could call her and I could call Hizashi and we could all go get breakfast together... you know, finally come clean to them...”
He looked so nervous. It was adorable.
“Ohhh... like a date?” She asked with a smug look.
“Yeah. Like a date... Well. A date plus two idiots.” He replied with a genuine smile. So, Emi started dialing Nemuri.
“Hey! Don’t think you’re getting out of breakfast so easily! Meet me at the usual place in 20!” She mock-yelled before hanging up the phone to avoid any of Nemuri’s inappropriate comments. Hizashi was next.
“Hey. Do you want to- SERIOUSLY?! She ALREADY called you?? Ugh no we didn’t... well... I guess... look, we’ll talk about it over breakfast. Be there in 20.” He hung up exasperated and rubbed his eyes.
“What happened?” Emi asked
“Well apparently Nemuri called him as soon as she left here and told him we spent the night together.”
“Of course, she did.” Emi said rolling her eyes.
“This is exactly why we didn’t tell them last time.” Shouta grumbled, but Emi saw the faint smile he was trying to press down.
“I’m kind of glad we’re being honest with them this time. They’re annoying, but they really care about us.” Emi said warmly.
Shouta let out a small laugh.
“Yeah. They do.”
Soon the two were walking out the door, hand in hand, about to do a lot of explaining to their two closest friends, on their second first date.
