Alright, so maybe a piece of slate bread wasn't enough to tame a monster, but who could blame him for trying. Boredum had lowered his already non-existant survival instincts, and repressed anger had made him too proud to call for help. He'd rather blame this unfortunate encounter on Geralt. Do not ignore your bard during an entire dragon hunt and expect him to behave safely.

Summary
Flowers were such pretty, delicate things. Always a source of inspiration for any poet, but not so much when they crawled up the poet's throat though. As Jaskier walked away from Geralt, he felt far from inspired by the blood and petals gathering in his mouth.

If he had known how the blond was when he had a flu, or more precisely, when he was given a terrible medication that completely messed with his brain, he would've found a way to get out of the Maze just to escape this responsability, because now that the roles are reversed, Thomas finds out that taking care of a reckless mind isn't that easy.

Summary
Letting people get close to her in general, it's — overwhelming. There are always questions, and hovering, that gap between Mel and the world around her so much wider when she doesn't have the emotional fortitude to do her best to bridge it. She's a pretty positive person, generally. It doesn't usually bother her much, until suddenly it does.
Frank's overwhelming too, she guesses, it's just that she doesn't really mind. He builds the bridge for himself, most of the time. It's easier when she doesn't have to do all the work.

It was easier to call him Langdon. Calling him that kept their work friendship professional. Once you called someone by their first name it got personal, and personal was difficult for Mel. And besides, no one called him Frank. Not even Robby, even when they were all at that one karaoke night.
