Chapter Text
As the early morning dew formed around him, Izuku gazed down upon the field below. The first lights of dawn were shining upon where the carnage lay. Countless souls from both sides of the battle lay dead or dying.
He felt a hand on his shoulder, holding him firmly. “It is time, my child. Your work is done. Come with me.” Izuku turned to see a kind faced priest in a pristine white cassock. He gestured for Izuku to follow. Following, Izuku was led through a dense forest, filled with the sounds of nature.
They came to the entrance to a man-made cave, a large boulder sat next to the entrance.
“Master Commander Izuku Midoriya, God thanks you for your service.” The priest said, leading him into the tomb, coming to face a large white marble coffin. Izuku removed his helm, placing it in one of the adjacent marble containers along with his shield.
Izuku climbed into the coffin, sword held in both hands to his chest, head resting on a silken pillow. He shut his eyes as the priest stood over the coffin.
“Lord protect the body, mind, and spirit of your beloved child, so that one day he may again serve in your name." The priest spoke as the lid of the coffin was lowered. A beam of sunlight shone into the tomb, bathing everything in a golden hue. Izuku felt his eyes growing heavy, letting himself fall into the sweet embrace of sleep.

Ibara was walking through the forest, along with a handful of her new classmates from UA. She had gotten into the hero course class 1-A. They were currently taking a hike through the forest on UA’s campus to work on their endurance. All of them had bags filled with food, water, and other supplies for the lunch they were going to make on the hike. Hitoshi, Kaminari, and Sero were slowly walking along several meters behind the main group, loudly voicing their displeasure with the hike.
Ibara had tuned those that were complaining out long ago, choosing to pay attention to the trail ahead of them. Several members had gone on ahead to find a good spot to have their lunch, while the rest of them had decided to take their time and enjoy nature.
Ibara stopped to admire the scenery and take pictures of the calm, peaceful forest. It was when she was looking at the pictures that she noticed something in the background. Calling out for some of her classmates, she was joined by Mina Ashido, Momo Yaoyorozu, Kirishima Eijiro, and Kyoka Jirou.
“What’s up Shiozaki? You find something?” Mina questioned, before Ibara pointed off towards a large rocky hill. “There’s an oddly round boulder at the end of this path. I wish to see if there is anything behind it.” She explained.
The others shrugged, following Ibara down the barely visible path, towards the now entirely visible boulder. “How the heck are we gonna move that thing?” Mina walked up to it, looking around the edge for anything to grab onto.
Ibara’s vines slowly crept out, encircling the boulder, and pulling it aside, revealing a cave. The others stared. “Yeah, that works.” Kirishima said, staring at the huge boulder.
They all heard a small gasp, looking over to see Momo who had walked several feet into the cave. “What’s up Yaomomo? You find som-'' Mina walked into the cave, stopping next to Momo. “Guys! Come check this out!” Mina cried as she walked further into the cave before Momo could stop her.
Ibara and the others all walked into the cave, stopping when they saw what lay inside. They had found a tomb. An enormous marble coffin sat in the center of the tomb, surrounded by smaller marble boxes.
“Oh my.” Ibara walked up to the coffin, hand hovering over its pristine surface. She placed her hand on the cool stone.
The coffin lid cracked. The sound startling the group of students
The group jumped back in surprise. Mina let out a loud shriek, as the two halves of the lid fell to the ground with a resounding thud.
“What did you do?” Kirishima cried.
“I touched the lid. Nothing else.” Ibara said, slowly moving back toward the coffin. The two halves of the lid now resting on the ground on either side of the coffin.
Taking a look into the coffin Ibara froze.
There, inside the coffin, was the perfectly preserved body of a templar knight, his armor shone in the dim light of the cave. She looked at the sword in his hands, noticing a lack of rust or corrosion. His green hair looked as if it had just been washed.
“What is in the coffin Shozaki?” Momo stepped forward to get a better view only to freeze.
“Is that…” Momo trailed off.
“A templar knight? Yes. One of the holy soldiers of god.” Ibara said, still staring at the body of the knight.
Momo gasped. “He’s alive! Look, he’s breathing!” She cried, pointing at the knight's chest.
Ibara moved closer, placing a hand against the man's neck to check for a pulse.
Vibrant green eyes shot open. The knight sat up, causing Ibara to stumble back, and the rest of the group to scream.
“OH MY GOD HE’S ALIVE!” Mina shouted, pointing a finger at the green haired man, who turned to look at her.
“Please do not use the lord’s name in vain, young one.” He turned toward Ibara. “Greetings, I am Master Commander Izuku Midoriya of the Knights Templar. Who might you be, Child?” His voice was soft, causing the group to calm slightly.
“Ibara Shiozaki. It is an honor to meet you, Master Commander Midoriya.” Ibara said, looking into the man’s eyes.
Izuku smiled. “Nay, the pleasure is mine, my child. Now would you be so kind as to tell me how long I have been asleep?”
Ibara paused. The crusades had ended in the late 1200’s so that would make him… “Over nine hundred years.” She turned to ward Momo. “Yaoyorozu would you please call the principal, and tell him we may need his assistance.”
Momo nodded before pulling out her phone and exiting the tomb.

Nezu sat in his office, going over the plans for 1-A’s upcoming trip to the USJ when his phone began to ring. Looking at the caller ID he saw it was 1-A’s president. They should be hiking in the forest on the edge of UA’s property.
He picked up the phone. “Hello Ms. Yaoyorozu. How can I help you? Is everything alright?”
“Everything is fine but we need you to come and see what we have found.” Momo said calmly.
“What is it that you have found, Ms. Yaoyorozu?” Nezu questioned.
“Did you know that there was a tomb in the forest? A tomb belonging to a Templar Knight?”
Nezu stopped. A tomb containing the body of a templar knight? That was most curious indeed. Nezu typed at his computer, searching for any record of a tomb. “That is strange indeed. I will be there soon. Please stay where you are.” Nezu hung up the phone, sending texts to Aizawa and several other teachers to accompany him.
——————————
Arriving at the tomb, Nezu hopped off All Mights shoulder, he glanced at the boulder that had been moved aside to reveal the entrance of the tomb. Momo stood next to the boulder, watching the teachers approach.
“Principal Nezu, there’s something I did not get to mention over the phone.” She said, approaching the group of teachers.
“And what would that be Young Yaoyorozu?” All Might questioned.
“The Templar Knight, Izuku Midoriya, Is alive.”
The teachers froze.
“Sorry, what?” Present Mic asked, twisting a finger in his ear. “It sounded like you said that a thousand year old knight is alive.”
“That is exactly what I said. Take a look for yourself.” She gestured toward the entrance.
The teachers all looked at one another before walking into the tomb. They all froze at the sight before them.
A templar knight in full armor, helmet shining in the dim light, and sword in its scabbard at their side, was using their shield as a table to arm wrestle Eijirou Kirishima.
“What in the hell.” Muttered All Might, as the knight proceeded to slam Kirishima’s arm down on the shield with no apparent effort.
“That makes twenty wins for Izuku and zero for Kirishima!” Called Mina, raising The knights arm in the air.
Nezu cleared his throat. “Excuse me, but who might you be?”
The knight glanced at the teachers, before looking down at Nezu. He stood, taking his shield as he did. “I am Master Commander Izuku Midoriya of the Knights Templar. Who… No, What might you be, creature?” The knight knelt down, taking off his helmet to better look at the strange creature before him.
The two stared at each other, before Izuku stood, looking at the other teachers. “Who might you all be, and would one of you be kind enough to explain to me what this rodent is?”
“My name is Nezu, and I am the principal of UA University. It is a pleasure to meet you. Now, since you are neither a student or a faculty member here, we are going to have to take you in for questioning. Please work with us and we will try and help you.” Nezu said, turning toward the entrance of the tomb, and gesturing for everyone to follow.
Momo pulled out her phone, sending Iida a text that they would not be joining them for the remainder of the hike.
——————————
Izuku was sitting in a stone walled room, his wrists shackled to a metal table. He gave a gentle tug on the chains keeping him to the table, and heard them groan.
The sound of the door drew his attention to a man in a brown cloak of some sort.
“A nice cloak you have.” Izuku said, looking at the man’s trench coat.
“Ah, you mean my trench coat, thank you. My name is Naomasa Tsukauchi” Tsukauchi said, sitting down across from Izuku. “I am going to be asking you a series of questions and I would like you to answer to the best of your ability.”
“Go ahead.”
“What is your name?”
“I am Master Commander Izuku Midoriya of the Knights Templar.”
True
“Where are you from?”
“France.”
True
“How old are you?”
“I do not know for sure.”
True
“What year were you born?”
“Lets see I was 33 I believe, so that makes it… 1058.”
True
“You’re saying you’re around 1200 years old?”
“Yes.”
True
“Give me a moment.”
Tsukauchi stood, quickly leaving the room and waking into the adjacent room, separated by a one way mirror. Aizawa and Nezu staring back at him.
“Well? He’s obviously lying about his age-” Aizawa began.
“He’s not.” Tsukauchi cut him off.
“What?” Aizawa deadpanned.
“Everything he said was the truth.”
“How is that possible?” Aizawa asked, dumbfounded.
“He may have a quirk even older than that of the first recorded quirk.” Nezu said, scratching his chin.
“He doesn’t. He’s quirkless. It says so in the results from the blood test.” Naomasa held out a sheet of paper for the two to read.
“So you’re saying that he’s an Immortal knight.” Aizawa sighed. “Great. You’re putting me in charge of him aren’t you Nezu?”
“You know me so well.” Nezu took a sip from his tea that nobody had seen him holding.
“Well since he was found on UA campus he is technically your responsibility. Just don't do anything reckless. Okay?” Tsukauchi said, sipping his coffee.
“Oh, Aizawa, would please give Cementoss a call, and tell him to prepare a building for our soon to be new employee.” Nezu said with a smile as he walked out of the room and into the interrogation room.
“Hello again Sir Nezu.” Izuku said with a polite nod.
“Hello again Mr. Midoriya. I was just thinking. I would like to offer you a job.”
