Chapter 7: This I Promise You

Summary:

Johnny and Gyro finally admit a secret that they were hiding this whole trip. Most of the feedback is positive.

Notes:

It’s the last chapter!!! I never expected how much research I had to do on this fic. I’ve never asked my family so many questions about horses in my entire life.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“I know this isn’t an ideal way to tell everyone.” Gyro began to say. It was about 4 in the afternoon, way past the time any of them planned to leave. Erina, Dio, Giorno, and Mista had to push back their flights, but it wasn’t a very big deal. Dio and Erina would take a private jet back to England, courtesy of Speedwagon, and Giorno and Mista would take a private jet back to Naples, courtesy of Passione. The other two families, however, would start their long drives very late. Johnny and Gyro profusely apologized, but they all agreed it was the best. Driving and having a massive hangover wouldn’t be a good solution.

“Johnny and I have been planning the wedding.” He finished, his cheeks turning to a light pink. Johnny couldn’t help but smile. He had been keeping it a secret the whole time. It wasn’t ideal, considering they were missing some family members, but he could always call them to inform them anyways.

“That’s great! When is it?” Erina exclaimed. She looked completely overjoyed, as did the rest of them.

“Thanksgiving. We both enjoy fall, and we would all be together anyways. It seemed perfect.” Gyro gushed. Johnny couldn’t help but agree. It really was a perfect plan, and it felt nice that they were able to plan it out on their own. However, they weren’t exactly alone. They had one small friend assist them along the way.

“Well, where is it?” Noriaki asked. Gyro had a small sparkle in his eyes. He was beyond excited to reveal the location.

“Giorno, would you care to do the honors?” Gyro asked. He promptly stood up and met Gyro’s side. Giorno’s happiness was practically radiating off of his small body.

“We will be hosting it at my estate in Naples, his hometown.” Giorno beamed. It immediately piqued their guests' interest. Everyone seemed beyond excited, except for Noriaki. It wasn’t something Johnny could forget. Giorno was a loving man, at least to them he was. Giorno knew when to be good, and when to be bad. He was not a stupid boy, and they all knew it. However, even with this, Noriaki still was not at ease.

“Are you sure that’s a good idea? I mean no disrespect, but isn’t drug trafficking huge there? You’re a mafia boss, Gio. Is this safe?” Noriaki questioned.

“Are you implying that I would put any of you at danger, Kakyoin Noriaki?” Giorno responded, his shoulders straightening back. Noriaki’s expression hardened.

“I’m not implying anything. It’s a simple question, Giorno. Is it safe for my child?” Noriaki barked back. Johnny hadn’t anticipated this argument, especially an argument between Giorno and Noriaki. They both were always so level-headed. It was shocking that it was Noriaki and not Dio.

“Would I willingly put my family in danger? It’s a shame you think so low of me.” Giorno scowled, walking back to his chair.

Gyro stood in front of the room. His mouth was open in shock.

“We will send invitations soon. Everyone is invited.” Johnny interrupted. He wanted to get this conversation over with. He never would have expected that his family would argue over his own wedding.

“We hope all of you can attend.” Gyro smiled.

“Hell yeah! Family vacation number three!” Joseph yelled.

Johnny prayed to whatever God was out there. He just wanted one normal family vacation, and hopefully Thanksgiving would be the one. This family has had enough bizarre adventures.

Notes:

Thank y’all for reading! I really hope that y’all enjoyed this little fic! I definitely plan on writing more parts to this series, mostly because it brings me a lot of joy to write. (also because I left it on an argument between two very calm characters)

Notes:

Thank you all so much for the constant love and support!!! Comments are always appreciated, and I love reading and responding to them! <3
