Chapter 2: A debt right - Khun’s Side

Chapter Text

As soon as Baam entered the ship, he was close to falling, the wound on his chest bleeding again. Khun Agüero held him up at the last moment.

"Don't move so much, Baam, your wound is big."

Baam smiled. I was grateful that he was there.

"Sorry, Khun."

"Leave that, first we have to heal your wounds"

Baam laughed sadly, when Khun led him to a nearby room. He could hear the voices of Endrosi and Rak, but he was too tired to understand what they were saying, he could only be sure that they sounded concerned.

"Baam"

He watched him wearily.

“Do you remember what happened before? How did you get to that place?"

“I'm not sure, I only remember the attack of that spear and then I fell… everything went dark. When I woke up it was already there"

"I see"

Khun looked at the makeshift bandage that covered Baam's chest, it was made from strips of clothing, one from his shirt, another from an article of different clothing.

"Were you with Rachel at that place?"

His eyes widened in surprise, before looking away.

"Yes, she was trapped there too."

There was no point in hiding it.

"I'm not sure how it ended up there"

Khun continued to watch silently, as Baam lay back on the bed. A small flaming fish came out after him and floated around Baam. Its small flames covered his wounds.

Basm's eyes were closing at times, he was too tired and the heat from the flames was welcoming.

"Did he do something to you?"

"She threw some rocks, there was no shinsu there, she was just upset that was trapped with me"

"That crazy woman…"

Baam closed his eyes more and more.

"You really don't remember anything?"

"I'm not sorry…"

Baam was finally knocked unconscious.

It was better this way, Khun thought.

In the eyes of the rest of his companions, Baam was attacked and as he fell, he disappeared. Guilt, as always, pointed to Rachel's machinations, the enemy that appeared may have been his trump card. Everyone saw it that way.

But, he knew it was not so.

The spear that struck Baam never went against him.

Baam might not remember it. But Khun could see it well. That spear was aimed at Rachel. Baam had unconsciously gotten in the way of the attack.
When Baam fell, terror washed over Khun. He wanted to jump, but before he did, a yellow spot passed by him.

That vile woman, who only knew how to use others, so pathetic that she was unable to do anything for herself and could only depend on others. That was the first time he could see a human reaction of despair on that round ugly face.

The confusion of the fight did not let anyone observe her. He was the mute witness of how that selfish person had thrown himself into the void for the person he said he hated more than anyone else in the world.

But, that was something Baam didn't need to know.

He definitely didn't have to know.

Going back was not an option for them.

Doing so would only bring more pain.

He didn't want Baam to suffer. Not again.

Although, he suspected that Baam had already made up his mind regarding Rachel.

I just hoped it was the right one.

Or else, he should be the one to end Rachel's life, before he hurt Baam again.
After all, she had already made an attempt on his life on more than one occasion. Now he could claim Rachel's life too, it was his right to do it.

Notes:

I have really enjoyed the stories of Baam and Rachel here! The writers are really talented!
I wanted to contribute this little two-shot.
I am very sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my native language and grammar is quite difficult for me. Still, I hope it's understandable.
Thank you for reading!
