"We can still get out of here, Khun. While everyone's distracted with the celebration, we'll sneak onto a ship out of here. We might not be able to rely on any of the Great Families, but you have a brother in Wolhaiksong, don't you? Maybe they'd give us sanctuary."
It was a sound plan, risky but achievable. Except Aguero had the sense that now that Bellerire had won, he wouldn't be quite so willing to give up the thing that gave him the most claim to the kingdom's throne. There was no guarantee that he wouldn't chase him wherever he went, and if Wolhaiksong wouldn't give them sanctuary, then they would never be safe.
Besides, what would become of Bam's kingdom if Aguero left it under Bellerire's command? When Aguero had married Bam, he promised to take care of Bam's kingdom and people as his own. He'd failed to protect Bam; he couldn't break this promise to him now that it was the last thing he had of his husband.
"No," Aguero said. "I'm not abandoning Bam's kingdom."

Summary
The tower is so unfair itself, not only in terms of strength or talent: the people are divided in three genders, alphas, beta and omega. This last one being the most afected, being view as the most weak people of the tower even if they are supreme. For that reason, Khun Aguero Agnis, wants to destroy this social rule and show everyone how the omegas can be even stronger than alphas and become the head of the Khun family to prove his point.
In one of the floors, he encounter a strange man injured and decide to save him, without a clue that this could change his life forever. Where is it from? How this young man doesn't know a lot of the tower? And most important, how is posible to feel a bond with a beta like him? There are a lot of mysterious around this guy.... -

Bam hardly set foot on the first step before a voice rang out, low and calm but with an edge of suspicion. "Who's up there?"
He hesitated. Though he knew that he had to kill whoever was down there, it seemed cruel to do so without even giving him a chance. "I think I'm here to kill you?"
What do you think you're doing? Rachel demanded.
Silence, then laughter came echoing up the stairs. "You must be the worst assassin I've ever heard of, announcing your intentions like that. Come on down, then, and give it a try."
I guess we won't get a better invitation than that, the other voice inside him muttered, his unease clear. Let's go.
Bam made his way down, his footsteps silent against the stone through no effort of his own. He came out in a shadowed room, the moon through the window illuminating a graceful figure seated against the wall. In its silvery light, the figure's light blue hair almost seemed to glow, framing his face like a halo. Cobalt eyes stared back at him, tired but bright with curiosity.

So he does what any reasonable hater would do: find the character he does like and stick to him like glue. After the destruction of FUG, Wolhaiksong, and even the Workshop, the "death" of Twenty-Fifth Baam, and the ultimate victory of the Jahad Empire, the women who survived were either doomed to eternal torture and servitude, had to endure a millennia of brutal violation, or were forced to serve as a slave for centuries. Those subjected to eternal damnation had very little chances of getting out, while those condemned for centuries would eventually be freed of their fates... Whether or not it was to face execution, exile, or conscription. Of course, some men also survived and were held in the exact same Floating Castle as the women, but they were put to work and treated more "mercifully" compared to the women.
And now, King Jahad, alongside his loyal friend, Lo Po Bia Traumerei, visits the halls of the damned and victory to celebrate their victory, "motivate" the few damned they had a soft spot for, and to clarify some of the damned's potential for future glories.
